I am visiting NorhWest Phoenix and was looking for a studio to get in a good yoga practice. I saw $18 one time drop in fee. It almost scared me off but i was desperate. When I rolled in and paid the fee I never thought about it again. The teacher was very strong and controlled the large class. She was aware as to when to open doors allowing some fresh air, she was very good with the music. The studio was clean and comfortable. They could have provided water and small hand towels. read more

Great place to start or reacquaint oneself with hot yoga. Large studio with plenty of space to practice. It's hot, but instructors constantly reassuring practitioners to go at their own pace and if they get too hot to just hang back. It's not a lulu fashion show here- wear what you got, lulu or not. I fell in love with hot yoga about two years ago and I've bounced all around to studios from NC, NM, to AZ--this is by far the absolute worst. The front desk at the arrowhead location is much more friendlier than the Scottsdale location, but the classes are absolute torture! They have their heaters set to 115, which is insane when some instructors barely open the door during an 80 minute class. Yes, you will leave a hot yoga class dripping wet, but you shouldn't feel like you are dying of heat exhaustion. One of the best parts of ending a hot yoga class is the lavender scented cool towel, but you don't even get that here. You just get tortured to near heat stroke and frowned upon for leaving the room and/or leaving early. I forfeited classes here and I really wasn't even mad about it. read more

After trying 5 different studios over the course of 3 years we found the BEST Hot Yoga Studio in town. We LOVE the studio, the perfect heat, the amazing, yet different instructors, the friendly receptionists, the schedule that evolves based on OUR requests and the perfect variety of class options. Yes, the longer one practices at any studio favorite instructors surface for each individual. Each of their instructors is a perfect fit for the wide variety of yogis that show up on their mats! Studio etiquette is explained to all new students in depth when they register, and the instructor provides a brief overview at the beginning of each class in order to preserve the purity of the practice for the regular students, and to bring the new yogis gently into the peaceful, mindful, warm, welcoming environment! This studio and this practice will change your life. Find the strength and perseverance within yourself to fit 2-3 classes a week into the next month. After that you won't be able to stay away. I have been going to True Hot Yoga off and on for quite some time. As a teacher it is hard for me to afford yoga classes on a monthly basis, but when I can afford it I adore going to True Hot Yoga. I love how my body feels after yoga, but most importantly I enjoy the peace and serenity I experience during class and following class. It truly does stay with you, and makes you a more peaceful and calm minded person. I do however, have one complaint. Many teachers are good at giving each individual student attention, while other teachers seem to only correct, praise, and focus on students who are really good at their practice. Speaking as someone who needs some work on her yoga poses, I want attention too!! I realize that it is not all about me, but we all pay the same amount for the same class, and deserve equal attention. Do I have to ask for help? read more

Decided to add hot yoga to my typical work out regimen when I found a groupon for this place, and I am so glad I made the decision! The classes are awesome, and push me in a whole different way than I am used to! My favorite instructor there is Marta, her classes are always great and she is super nice! The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was sometimes the classes are crowded (I know this isn't their fault, I just get a little self conscious sweating that much next to someone I don't know.) And also being new to yoga, it is sometimes difficult following along because there is not usually an instructor showing the poses, so I have to look at other people in the class. Overall, great place to work out and I will hopefully be able to sign up when my groupon runs out! :) read more

Relatively new to hot yoga and had a great experience today! Studio was clean and well organized. We dropped in without a reservation and there was enough room for 2 of us. The instructor was great. She was clear with her instructions and allowed for small breaks in between. I wouldn't say this class is for beginners but she offered adjustments to make the movements easier or more advanced. Went went to the Thursday 5:30pm class for the first time and we had an extraordinary time! We've done many hot yoga classes back when we lived in Tucson and this was our first time since moving back to Glendale. The instructor made us feel very comfortable. I went on a long hiatus from True Hot (I had a new baby). I had not practiced for over a year. Last Saturday I went back and it was such a wonderful experience. First off, I called ahead and Heidi and Kimmy helped fix my account that was on hold and set out a mat for me. Literally, I only had to walk in and go straight to my spot. (Exceptional service). Then I had class with Brady. His class was amazing. I honestly practiced with a smile on my face all class. My whole experience felt like I had gone "home". Holy moly! Great class! I really needed this being on vacation sleeping in s duper hard bed and in the car a lot. I've been executive h in my hotel room but need to elongate my muscles. I've done hot yoga in Houston but never when this hot outside. I think I was somewhat dehydrated. I sweated a lot! My clothes could be wrung out my towel was drenched. The teacher was fantastic I loved the added and at the end. It did take me all day to recover , tummy was queasy and my brain was angry. I drank water and drank water just couldn't get enough water. The next day I felt like a million bucks. Don't bother buying the jewelry though. I bought z cute infinity bracelet to be worn for 5 minutes and the latch broke. The staff is friendly open and the room was nice not smelly. They kindly let me borrow a mat since it was my first visit. Get ready to sweat ! read more

Amazing! Being not in the best shape I was incredibly intimidated to do this but Kristina was so welcoming and awesome! Spoke to us newbies at the beginning of class and then throughout talked everyone through and let the newbies know what we should be getting out of it...it really was amazing and encouraging and a great way to change up your workouts that I'll definitely be back!! read more

If I had started this review prior to yesterday, I'd would have given them 5 stars. I enjoyed coming here, close to my house and class times fit with my work schedule. Because of the reasons above I was willing to overlook some of the minor annoyances. But now they have decided to move the 7:00pm class to 6:00pm. Why???? I work until 5:00 and trying to get there by 6:00 won't be happening. Really people, we live in Phoenix!!!! Rush hour? Traffic? Heard of it? Not everyone works within a 15 minute drive of that place. I MAY still keep coming on Sunday (at least until my package runs out) but you should really consider a system for limiting the number of people per session. Being so crowded that you can't even do simple poses without banging into someone else does nothing to improve one's yoga practice. It screams greed to me. That's why I liked coming in the evening during the week. It's not as crowded. I've been intrigued by Pure Barre but hesitated because I loved (again willing to overlook the minor annoyances) my hot yoga time twice a week. Looked forward to it and figured out which instructors fit best with me. But I think you've just made my decision easier with your ridiculous class time change. And if Sundays continue to be so packed you are within inches of the person next to you, then I really have no good reason to buy another package. read more

I love hot yoga. The few classes I have taken I did enjoy. However, overall the people are not very friendly and the shower situation is borderline pathetic. There is only one shower in the ladies room, the wait for the shower seems longer than the actual class which makes it difficult for those of us who work full time to be proactive when it comes to time management. It's also too expensive and there's no negotiation on the price which initially led me to give this business a one star. read more

Tried out this studio with my classpass and it was great. Clean studio with friendly staff and a Zen environment. I wish the bathrooms were a little bigger maybe a few additional showers and counter space. But everything else was perfect. The classroom is spacious and its easy to get a spot near the mirror to monitor your posture. The class is challenging and be prepared to sweat! At the end of the class I felt awesome and can't wait to come back. Will definitely add this studio to my favorites to visit with my classpass. read more

I signed up for the auto draft unlimited classes membership on Sunday. So far I have been to Krissy's class and Serena's. I enjoyed them both so much. I have found my new addiction . I can't wait to further my yoga practice with this studio. I enjoy the complimentary infused waters they have after class. Also the front desk associate I can't recall her name , always has a friendly demeanor, big smile and positive up beat attitude. She is very welcoming. read more

so i decided to try yoga today with my groupon coupon. i show up to the yoga place it seemed cool but it was another story when the class started. this is a scam. if your not experienced they will ask u to leave. wtf with no refund either. so beware of the lady named kay she hates beginners. I did a 30 day trail here just looking for something to kickstart me into a fitness routine. I was a really good experience, by the time my trial was up I knew about 5 people that were doing trials too just based off of what we said. It is a very intense 90min, and sometimes while in there you think "why am I doing this" but you are always glad you came because you do feel refreshed. The instructors are all pretty great and they can play some cool music sometimes. read more

This place is awesome! First of all, I'm brand new to yoga in general so walking in here the first time I wasn't quite sure what to expect. What I found was a great staff who is friendly and knowledgeable, a clean facility, and the best addition to my fitness routine ever! They even have an app that makes keeping up with the schedule, your attendance, purchases, and other info super helpful. The classes are structured so that all participants, beginner - advanced, are guided through a beautiful practice that strengthens the mind and body. It's my new favorite place :) All the instructors have been great but I've especially enjoyed Tracy's classes. Great studio for bikram yoga! I was just visiting Phoenix so only got to go to a couple of classes here, but I really liked it! I got the introductory offer...2 weeks for $20. I've done hot yoga in the past at different studios and I'd say this is up there as one of the best ones I've been to. It was hot but I've been to hotter ones so definitely manageable. But don't worry they open the door here and there when it gets too hot which feels sooo good! Also I had Kay for one of the classes and she was awesome! I was surprised at some of the upbeat music which I wasn't used to at other studios but it ended up making the class more fun and energetic. I would recommend trying one of her classes. And the front staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. Cant wait to go back again when I'm in Phoenix! read more

Buyer beware! I purchased a package of 15 classes & after my 5th visit was stopped by the front desk. This was odd since they have never said more than "Hi" & "Bye" to me before. They stopped me to tell me that I owed money for the last 2 classes. I told them that must be a mistake since I purchased a package of 15 classes & this is only my 5th time in. "No"- they told me that "my package expired, that is is in the fine print" - "I should have looked at & someone was supposed to tell me on my fist visit" Needless to say = they didn't) & they forgot to tell me last time so now I own them $40+ tax retroactively! If my package expired then yes it would have been an honest business practice to tell me BEFORE I used more services. Although I do think that making a package expire in so short a time is rather shady, not telling me until after & I have still been using services thinking that it was included in my paid for purchase is just plan dishonest. I highly recommend anyone Think Twice before using True Hot Yoga services. read more

REALLY love this place! I have only practiced at the Arrowhead studio so I can't say anything about the Scottsdale studio but I loovvvee this place. Its a kick in the pants but man it feels so good walking out of here knowing you just finished a really good work out. I hate the gym so trying hot yoga and finding this studio has really been awesome for me. Staff and teachers are really nice and do not make you feel intimidated wherever you are within your yoga practice, whether you are a beginner or advanced. This is probably the first yoga studio where if I didn't do a pose, or a flow because I was hurting or tired that I didn't feel the "yoga shame" from anyone. read more

Although the exercise and sweating is pretty awesome, there are definite issues that are hard to ignore. First, there is nothing to help new people understand what they should wear or bring with them. Second, the instructions for what to have in the class are non-existent. Third, there are so many students in the class and the instructor is all over the place so new people haven't the slightest clue of what to do. The only way I was able to do at least something was to watch the person next to me. The instructor provided NO instruction that made sense for beginners and conducted class like everyone was a veteran. There needs to be separate beginner classes for sure along with some material or something on their web site that explains what you need and should bring. The instructor should have smaller classes and be cognizant of what special requirements the students need (such as carpal tunnel and alternate positions). Very disappointed with the setup and lack of instruction. Also, after 7pm, there is no one manning the front desk and they lock the front door so you'll have to unlock and leave yourself if you happen to leave early. If you do happen to go, here are some tips: 1) show up 15-20 minutes early your first time for paperwork 2) bring a yoga mat, yoga mat towel, sweat towel and bottle of water 3) highly suggest sports bra of sorts for the women and only shorts (no shirt) for the men 3) wear flip flops or slip-on/off shoes 4) leave purse/valuables/stuff in the car or at home 5) if using a card for payment, get some kind of small wallet that you can clip to your yoga mat or wrist 6) inside the classroom there are no shoes allowed and little or no talking 7) the room is a long rectangle and if a lot of folks are there, be prepared to be close to your neighbor. read more

The instructors all have a great flow with consistency in the quality of each class. The only thing I would suggest is that the teachers adjust students more. I was a beginner here and they knew that and I fee I would've gotten more out of classes if they adjusted students. Friendly atmosphere and smells amazing in the room! read more

I love True Hot Yoga! The instructors are all very welcoming here and really make sure you are getting what you want out of the practice. When I first started last year, they were doing Friday 4pm classes free for new students! I don't believe they do these anymore because I have been looking out for them to bring some friends that are interested. I would like to see this come back because it's really beneficial for bringing in new students- that's how I was sucked into it! I have gotten the 15 class Groupon twice and it's a really great deal! You can only buy the Groupon once every year, however, but that's pretty typical for any Groupon. It's a little pricey in my opinion without the new student deal (2 weeks for $20) or the Groupon, but overall, I really like the place and would definitely recommend it. read more

I have been going here for a while now. I love a few instructors but I keep on attending other classes to check out other teachers. I won't be attending one particular class, Krissy's because the music was too loud, she spoke too fast, and the transitions were way too quick. We started late too (8 mins late) which is a first for me in this studio. I try to come on time to honor everybody's so I expect the same. I will continue to come for sure just not this one class she leads. read more
