My card on file declined, and instead of just freezing the account or handling it professionally, the owner sent incredibly condescending, passive-aggressive emails. They are trying to force me to pay for a month of service I never used or had access to, hiding behind a "30-day notice" clause. When you call them out on it, they admit their billing software just automatically sends you to "collections" to bully you into paying. Absolutely zero compassion or business ethics. I started my membership here in like 2022 or 2023. I paused it for a few months in 2023 or 2024. I canceled my membership March 2025 based off experiences with other members, not the staff. I rejoined last month, May 2025. I had my first class back, Align, at a different time of day from what I would normally attend. Staff was still great & they greeted me by name when I walked into the studio. The, I don't want to use names, manager is the one that got me to sign back up. She called since they were running a special, and she wanted to see if I might want to re-join. She apologized for the experiences that ultimately made me quit. We discussed the discount options, and what kind of schedule I thought I could have if I joined back up again. I let her know that the four pack class option is best for me, as I work two jobs and do strength training elsewhere. The class was pretty full when I arrived, but I walked in and grabbed a spot in the middle of the room. My favorite spot is the back bar, it is the first location I took a class at back when I became a member and it is the spot I prefer. Class was great, although I let them know Align was a little tougher than I remembered back in March 2025. I checked in on Yelp after class, or before, and I saw some awful reviews. They are what led me to update my review. The owner is great and has been able to expand locations. She really worked with me in the past, like when I originally enrolled and was going to quit due to cost and class times. When I quit back in March they asked why, they tried to get me to come back, they offered different class options. While I was quitting, I kept thinking they were just contacting me so they would not lose a member/money. I realized they actually wanted feedback, to know why I did not feel comfortable in class and what happened to make me want to quit. I should add, when I quit there was a lot going on- someone had driven through the front entrance, so we had to enter through the back of class. I like routine and that threw everything off. Honestly, I should have paused my membership and then just restarted once everything was back to status quo. Back to why I quit- I had placed my water bottle at my spot at the bar- someone completely disregarded my spot and took it over. I felt slighted, things were already off and that was the last straw. As you can see, it was not because of staff, it was because I am particular and routine oriented. Give this place a try. If I remember correctly, the owner of this location has three other locations. That allows you to take classes at any of them, rather than just this one. read more

Pure Barre Glendale has been nothing short of transformative for me, especially as someone with scoliosis. I joined after reading forums that barre is the best for strengthening your back and it's the best fitness decision I've ever made. Cassandra has been my primary instructor. She's super knowledgeable as she's answered questions about form and technique that I've had for years. Most importantly, she showed me that Barre is "functional fitness" because she taught me how to properly protect my back by tucking my tailbone and engaging my abs during movements. This training literally saved me when I had to unload two UHaul pods by myself. Not a single backache, thanks to Cassandra and tailbone tucks! Heather deserves special mention too--she's the instructor who convinced me to join in the first place, and I'm forever grateful. The studio itself is always clean and well-maintained, which I appreciate in a fitness space. But what sets Pure Barre Glendale apart is the community. After having neutral to negative experiences at other barre studios, the warm, friendly, and helpful atmosphere here keeps me coming back. Everyone from the staff to fellow members makes you feel welcome and supported. If you're considering joining, especially if you have back issues or are looking for low-impact but highly effective exercise, I cannot recommend the Pure Barre Glendale studio enough! read more

The owner of the west valley locations is HORRIBLE! My family and I came 1 minute late and we're not allowed in to the class. I totally understand and they could have kindly just said so. Instead, the owner started yelling at us and quoting contract terms at us, when we weren't even arguing. She was so rude. We just signed a contract so they have our money for 3 months but we are going to cancel as soon as we can. I can't believe how poorly they treat people there! If you want to try Pure Barre, I would recommend the North Scottsdale location which this lady doesn't own. So unbelievable! I hope she becomes a happier person. read more

I did not enjoy the classes I took, the room smelt bad (musty) and needed to be aired out. It seemed to me as though all they care about is money. Employees trying to convince clients to get the merchandise after each class shows all they want is money. Especially when it's clothing I do not like and they continue to try and push it on me after I say no time and time again. I am absolutely disgusted with this company and how they do buisness. I canceled my membership and they continue to charge me. I initially called and they said this needs to be done in person. So, I go in person. The girl tells me no problem and said it's taken care of. I notice on my statement, long behold Pure Barre is still charging me. I even changed my credit card information. They still continued again, without my permission to charge me. So, I disputed this with my credit card company. Let's get this out of the way I love Pure Barre. So Pre-Covid when I would travel I would find a class to join : ie Las Vegas, San Francisco, Naples and Ft. Lauderdale. Now with lock down I haven't done my usual routines. This has made me truly inflexible physically and I can feel every pain in my body. So dying to get into a live class I found the closest location in Phoenix near my family that I am in town visiting. I called to get some info as it's been awhile. Lucky me I was promptly called back I almost fainted how nice. So luckily my schedule allowed that I can take a class. So I arrived at this location late afternoon I booked the class online. I arrived early to buy some new leggings, top and socks with the grips. Note they did have holiday socks too! Due to Covid the class size is limited to five also you do the class with masks on as well as your spot is marked out with tape on the floor. Everything is super clean Within the first five minutes of the class my pain disappeared! I was so relieved. The teacher Kristen and as well as the owner has to be he nicest I have ever met. They even welcomed me back to come again this week before my return home. They truly made my day and best part of my trip so far. read more

Never underestimate the power of a barre workout and fantastic instructor! First time taking a barre class and I didn't know what to expect. I usually lift weights and do calathetics, but I knew this was a different animal. I love to challenge my body and see if I can discover new muscles through different movements, so this was a great find. Kasey, the incredible instructor, was so kind and welcoming! She made sure all participants (from beginner to advanced) had proper form, pushed their limits to get a good workout in, and was acknowledged with words of motivation. I was dripping sweat in no time! If you're even CURIOUS about trying a barre class, DO IT! I wish I did sooner... only 50 minutes, which flew by with the upbeat music, SO fun, challenging, and required zero past experience in sports or exercise. The small, intentional pulses and movements are all doable and will leave you sore the next day! Thank you for a great establishment with positive energy, Kasey! I have never felt so humiliated and inept as I felt during my first visit to Pure Barre Glendale. When I called to inquire about the class, I asked if the instructor demonstrates what you're supposed to do and if she offers modifications if you're unable to do a move or an exercise. I was assured that both would take place. I filled out the form and indicate that I have a right hip prosthesis, a torn rotator cuff, and arthritis in my ankles, wrists, hands and neck. I'm not even sure the owner or instructor read it. I know for sure they didn't offer to address any of those issues in terms of what type of modifications I can expect. At no time did the instructor offer any ideas for modifying a move. At one point during a set of floor exercises that I was unable to do, I literally sat on the floor doing nothing for 5 minutes. It was at that point that I wanted to leave...and cry. Suffice it to say, I will never return. read more

I was apprehensive to try Pure Barre because I am in no way a dancer and if I'm being honest, not very coordinated or flexible. I was pleasantly surprised my first class. It was fast, but simple, challenging movements. The 50 minutes flew by and my whole body was sore the next day! Such a fun, challenging, full body workout! Purre Barre is a guaranteed sweat, every time. Really up-beat, fun, full-body workouts coupled with bass-rich dance music taught by super-fit instructors who make you want to push yourself to the limit. The moves are basic ballet-enhanced barre type squeezes and dips either at the barre or on the floor. The class incorporates small balls, hand weights, and bands as well, yielding to as much of a full-body workout as possible in a very short amount of time. My first 3 classes were rough and produced some shaky muscles and buckets of sweat. I noticed results around the 6th class. Bring water. Bring water. Bring water. I loved going to Pure Barre knowing that for the next hour, I could concentrate on sweating and sculpting my way through a power workout while the music zoned me out. Yes, there are mirrors all over the place. The rooms seems clean but the lighting is a bit much. It was tough for me to find a spot where the lights weren't in my grill, coaxing even more sweat out of me. The air circulation was also an issue. There are several fans but the intstructors seem reluctant to use them during class. During cool-down (end of class), they are turned on but only to the first level. I tend to detox (ie. sweat) during my workout so this was an issue for me. To be fair, when I asked them to turn the fans on during class, they did so. After class, as a courtesy, you are expected to wipe down your own mat and ball. I wasn't used to this and considering the price, I was a bit bothered at first. But after seeing small results so fast, I got over it. Plus, I wouldn't want to clean up after a bunch of sweaty broads either so I understand. Owner Gena is friendly and helpful with any issues that come up (website sign-up; merchandise; etc.) as are most of the other gals. The instructors are ALL SUPER-FIT! I mean, really fit. Like, near perfect. If that type of thing intimidates you, you'll have to get over it and use it as fodder to get you through the class. In terms of cost, Pure Barre is 'niche' priced...as in pricey. Last time I checked, monthly rates offering unlimited classes were around $175. I think the package deals come out to like $135/month. That's the main reason I stopped. I would love to take class every day but at that price, it's still way out of my league. Look for specials through FB or call the studio to see if they offer any deals for new clients. read more

Let me start out by saying... FINALLY!!! There's a barre class on the northwest part of the valley! It's about d*mn time!!! My first encounter with a barre fitness class was when I visited a friend in Portland, and she introducted me to The Bar Method. It's a very similar class, but not exactly the same. However, I truly underestimated the class. I took ballet lessons growing up, so I thought that a ballet barre fitness class would be cake, because I do just fine with cardio type fitness classes too. Boy, was I ever wrong! This type of fitness hits your core muscles without moving very much. There's alot of stretching. There are exercises on the bar and on the floor. It's as though ballet has been combined with both pilates and a tad bit of yoga. Unlike The Bar Method class I took in Portland, the instructors here at Pure Barre Glendale seem to be friendlier. To some extent, I felt like that class I took in Portland pushed me beyond what I could do. Here instead of feeling the pressure to do every single exercise perfectly, the instructors here are very supportive. They guided my moves in the right direction and were very motivating. I didn't feel singled out like I did when I was taking that class in Portland. I can still remember the Bar method Portland instructors yelling in front of the class, "Jen you're not plie-ing enough. Fix & the turn those knees out." I was in ballet boot camp for crying out loud. It was cruelly hilarious! And don't get me wrong, I loved being pushed to the limit. I am just mainly pointing out what I noticed. Pure Barre is fun! It involves using the ballet bar, yoga mats, cords, and small balance balls. (At least that's what they used when I tried the class for the first time this past Saturday). I hate doing the same routine over and over again, so I love when things constantly change. I love the feeling when I'm done with this class because my muscles still feel like they are shaking. Every exercise pushes you to the point where your muscles have so much tension that you start shaking and the movements are small. The day after is even more interesting when muscles you didn't know existed start exemplifying soreness. The instructors at this location, like I said earlier, guided me and might have helped move me into the right position and watched to make sure I was doing things right, but I was never yelled at. That's always a plus, right? The music is upbeat and energetic and the tempo matched the exercises as intended. The class was very smooth as well. Before I knew it, it was over! I will definitely return for more! I just wish the classes weren't so pricey... I need to make sure I'm on top of the deals they advertise sporadically. Fun always comes at a cost! ;) read more

I am completely addicted! I've been going to two weeks and cannot get enough. The first few classes were more about figuring out how to do the moves and learning how to "tuck" properly. After getting the moves down, I can feel a huge difference in my abs, back and thighs. I have worked out and done yoga for years, but PB is so much more energizing. 99.9% of the people in class are women which makes for a very nurturing, feminine vibe but they do have special men/couples nights. All of the instructors are amazingly sweet and helpful at adjusting your positions. Definitely wear pants or capris, NO SHORTS. Wear socks. . . preferably black ones if you don't want to stick out as the "new kid." Bring a towel and a bottle of water but most of the time I forget that i brought them because class flies by! Classes are expensive, but you can't put a price on health and fun. read more

I really loved my time at this location while temporarily living in AZ. I enjoy going to different pure barre locations and really appreciate the fun events, social media interaction and the instructors at this particular Pure Barre (especially Ashley's classes!). I started going here the day it opened in January and I haven't stopped yet. The teachers here are very friendly and awesome. Each class will make you work harder than the class before utilizing different moves each time. This helps reduce burnout because the choreography is constantly changing. Love Pure Barre! Been going regularly since June and am a BIG fan. Great instructors, the classes are always fun and never boring. It is challenging no matter how long you have been going, yet still great for beginners. You can push yourself as hard as you want to work. My only complaint is they have taken out a few of the class times that I used to frequent which makes it hard to fit it in my schedule. The cost is more than I am used to spending for any gym membership, so it would be nice for their class times to be a bit more consistent and for them to offer more morning class rather than just a 5:30 am. read more

I checked out their website to get more information and it looked pretty interesting. They had a new client special for $99 for and unlimited month of classes, so I decided to give it a try. What did I have to loose? I had my first class on Monday morning with Katie. She was super welcoming. She commented on how good my form was during the class. This was a total confidence booster. She made sure that I was executing the movements properly and would adjust me when I needed it. She also made recommendations for modifications to make it easier for certain positions. Overall I had a great experience. I wasn't that sore the day after either. I'm excited to see what the rest of the month will bring. read more

I love PureBarre! I grew up playing soccer and basketball, not the girly type or into dance. I never thought PureBarre would be something I would consistently do, but it is an incredible complement to other workouts. When I started, I wasn't out of shape but couldn't do SO many of the moves/positions; it's just so different than every other workout & you really target those areas that aren't hit in other workouts. However, I also think it's important to think about what PureBarre is intended to do. It is not a high calorie-burning, cardio workout. Instead, it's about toning, spot-on form, and learning to embrace the shake of your muscles changing. I originally started at the one in Fort Worth last spring while I attended TCU, and it has changed my body a lot. I have gained lots of confidence, made friends, and learned to appreciate working out with women of all ages. read more

I used to go to the gym but was not getting the results I wanted; primarily because it is hard to motivate myself and I found a lot of cardio exercises (such as running) were hard on my knees. Then I tried Pure Barre: it was fun and I felt accomplished. I also don't have to worry about my headphones falling out of my ear while running. Definitely got more toned while having fun. Highly recommend as all the instructors are great: they are friendly and motivating. I love coming here! It is the best workout with the best instructors. I love that the instructors will fix your form if need be. I have always done workouts but have never stuck to a specific workout till pure barre. It tones you all while the time goes by very fast. The cost is worth it as I am sticking to a workout, go 4-5 time a week and feel very strong. Last year I did a half marathon in which my time was so much better than my first half and was easier.
