They were quick and reasonably priced with good problem solving skills!!! That's the kind of plumber you want! We had them come out twice. Once for a broken water heater. The guy replaced it quickly and gave us some tips. I could sense that he genuinely wanted to help. Another time it was a leak from the wall that I shared with my neighbors. True Plumbing was able to come out quickly and said a leak detector was required and they couldn't do anything yet, but they didn't charge me for coming out either! I recommended them to a neighbor of mine, and she liked their work too. It was for a pipe leaking. First a contractor said he would need to open up a big chunk of the wall. When True Plumbing guy came, he said he could just fix it from what had been opened already from just one side! That's someone you want - to get the job done minimally invasive. You don't want a giant hole in your drywall. The cost of patching up a wall can sometimes be as much as fixing the leak, or even more. You want someone who's good and accurate with diagnosis, act quickly and not charge you an arm and a leg. And True Plumbing did just that! Also, I thought one of the plumbers looked pretty cute LOL. A little belated - I went out the first Monday after New Year's to find out our water heater had sprung a leak and was not ringing in 2023 in good cheer. We had used True Plumbing for a much smaller job (garbage disposal replacement) in 2022 and were very happy with them, so I gave them a call right away. We were super lucky they were able to get us on the schedule that same day. That afternoon a tech came out and gave us the options. I wanted to look into maybe going to tankless, but that would have really required quite a bit more time investment to get the right unit, plan it out, etc, whereas if we replaced the old unit we had with a new, traditional unit they were able to do the install that day and for a very reasonable price. We opted for the traditional unit and I was delighted to have no more leaks and hot water in the house again that night! It's been a delight having plentiful hot water and slightly better water pressure after the install of the new tank! On a price note, my mom had to replace a similar water heater in a rental unit recently so I knew what she'd paid. I also talked to another plumber I've used over the years that couldn't fit us in for a week and had a general price from them. True Plumbing was right in line with these prices and didn't try to gouge us for the emergency or anything like that. I also want to tank our tech for taking the time to check the water pressure at various exterior spots on our house as we've been going back and forth with the city about it for years. It was super nice of him to take the extra time (even if he thought I was a bit nuts) and check the water pressure at the regulator and a couple other spots. It's extremely disappointing when a company you've trusted in the past gets sold and the level of customer service drops precipitously. That's what we experienced with True Plumbing. We'd used True Plumbing to install fixtures in the kitchen and baths previously. We had a problem arise recently and we called to make an appointment. On the appointed day, the office called shortly beforehand to reschedule our plumber due to a personal emergency. We were slated for the following day--again within a 2 hour window, so we re-arranged our schedule to accommodate. The next day, the plumber failed to show--nor did they call--we called the office and were told the plumber was running late and it would be another half hour. Clearly, jobs can run over, but one would expect a phone call or text telling you they're running late and give a new time estimate. Everyone is busy; having had two disruptions to our schedules, we felt that would have the fair thing to do. Additionally, we had called the office the morning of our rescheduled meeting on another matter and reminded them of the appointment. Very sad. read more

So, let me start with the good. The company is responsive and arrived within 24 hours on a leak I'm experiencing with my property. The plumber provided his assessment and remediation action. The plumber did refer me to a restoration company, which I found very helpful. The bad, Vincent was the plumber that arrived and did not have leak detection equipment. Instead, he spent about a half hour listening to the leak, inspecting the exterior of the property, taking a call from another customer, and checking the water pressure only after I asked. His assessment was based on a guess. The ugly, I was charged $125 for this, and I was not even made aware ahead of his visit that I would have to pay anything in excess of the $25 gas charge. Also, I asked for a written estimate, and I was told that the company would send it later. Really? I was pretty upset with this experience, especially more so when I had another plumbing company come out and perform an even more thorough inspection for free (I was only charged for the leak detection, which they let me know in advance how much it would be), without asking: checking the water pressure, checking the water meter, listening to both interior and exterior, and that company came prepared with the leak detection equipment. I asked if this was common, and he said it is if your customer states they have a leak. I mean, it's night and day. UPDATE: I had Travis, the owner, reach out to me and apologize. Based on the cost not being shared upfront, he promised there would be no charge. I really appreciate this type of customer service. I think it's important to keep this whole review out there so that others can see the high integrity and humility that Travis runs his business with. I know it's not easy dealing with customers, and I appreciate Travis going out of his way to satisfy the customer. Thank you! read more

I wanted to replace my kitchen faucet ( it was leaking) ... I first bought my choice at Lowe's ( a Moen for $ 189.tax). Then I called True Plumbing (Carlsbad Village Drive) to install it. They gave me a quote for $ 275. and would send someone out to install it that very afternoon. So Evan showed up right on time and installed it in less than an hour. I'm amazed how they are able to get under your sink with so little workspace and be able to disconnect and connect the half-dozen connections they had to deal with. Stephen did a fabulous job. He installed a new hose bib in the back (ours was leaking pretty bad, we had a bucket under the spigot as it was gathering so much water), he re-configured our funky irrigation main where we had a leaky valve and breaker, and worked in our guest bathroom to install a rubber seat. Interesting enough, while work was being done the guest bathroom we starting having issues with the handle that controls the cold water (we could not turn the water off), lucky we had a plumber there already. We've had two different plumbers from True Coming come for different jobs so far, and both were prompt, friendly, did good work, and were honest. Unfortunately I can't remember the name of the first plumber from True Plumbing who came previously, but he did a great job and really fast work. Brison was the one who came today and I was impressed by his honesty -- he could have charged me for the job, but instead he only charged me a minimal service fee and informed me that the work we needed done was still under warranty by a previous plumber from a different company who had serviced our water heaters before, so we should be able to get the current problem fixed at no cost since it's still under warranty. I really appreciated his honesty, and will request Brison again for future jobs. read more

We got a quote to install a new water line from fridge to water. Not a typical installation but easy access to under house. We were told by True plumbing that it would cost $900, and two people a full day of work. I thought this quote was utter bs so i encouraged my boyfriend to get another quote. We got another plumber in for one guy who did it in 2.5 hours at less than half the price. Either these guys are just throwing out numbers because they have so much business now, or they legit don't know how to do price estimates. Either way, they have lost this business and future business with maintenance and remodels we have. Just be honest folks, you'll get more business (which maybe again they are so big this job didn't matter). He called me on the way and walked me through the steps of shutting off the main water without making me feel like an idiot for not being able to initially do it myself. It sucks when your kids put pinecones down the waste pipe, flush wooden trains down the toilet, or jump on outdoor metal irrigation pipes until they snap, but it's good to have True Plumbing here to help clean up the mess. I called True Plumbing for a leak inspection and to check a slow draining sink. Charged $250 for the leak inspection, and found that the sink was fine. A few days later, the sink was completely backed up. I called again to take a look, hoping that the service would be included in the $250 I already paid. They scheduled an appointment for the same day and said they would call me back for the pricing. An hour later they called me back saying that there was an issue in the appointment system and they had no availability until the following week. So I was left with a backed up sink over the weekend, and fortunately I found another plumbing company that came the same day. I'm very disappointed by True Plumbing. They could have said "we're sorry but we need to charge extra", which would have been fine. But don't cancel an appointment that was already confirmed. The appointment system glitch sounds like BS to me. This company showed no integrity and no respect for their customers. read more

However, we had them come out for a second time, paid the service fee, and didn't hear anything for almost 3 weeks. We were told we would receive an email with an estimate/update. Had to follow up multiple times, and finally received a call with an update saying they will not be able to perform any of the services that we were inquiring about. They confirmed they did not send an email. We are just frustrated with their communication this time around and lost 3 weeks of waiting patiently.
