I am thoroughly impressed with John Jarvis (and everyone I've interacted with) at True Protection! They beat ADT's services HANDS DOWN in pricing, customer service and security knowledge. ADT jacked up my rates every few months and between 2009 to 2015, our monthly bill went from $35 to $71 with NO security service changes! ADT didn't care that I wanted to leave and didn't offer ANY specials to keep me so we left -- and I am SO glad we did! We now have the ability to set our alarms from our phone, add in new codes for guests AND keep all the same camera/alarm equipment -- so NO new installation fees. Their plan was amazing his it was almost half the price of ADT with SO many more perks! We signed a 3 year contract and I am really glad we did because I did not like my rates getting jacked up without any consent. Another reason why they are so great is because they TRULY care how things are installed. I have a very old home that was remodeled a couple of times -- the construction of the house made it very difficult to drop lines for the camera system. Even though our house was difficult to work with, John and his teammate worked on it all day (and way late) to make sure everything was set up and functioning before they left. We had a couple hardware hiccups when the system was first installed (issues from the manufacturer, nothing that John or True Protection did), but John has been tireless making sure that our system is working correctly and that we are happy. I have used other security firms in the Austin area, and John and his True Protection team are, BY FAR, the absolute best -- most reasonable prices, most accommodating expert service, and best home security product solution I could ever ask for. Other rival "security services" install your equipment, may or may not teach you all the features, and will NEVER SPEAK TO YOU AGAIN. Rather, any repair or modification to service or features is delegated to the monitoring service repair team, who was habitually non-responsive and inept at needed repairs. After 3 years' contract with the other BS firm's partially working gear, gratefully True Protection outfitted me with the latest and greatest gear when my contract was over. There was one problem, (that turned out to be faulty wiring from the previous company), that True Protection fixed immediately after I called. AND they promise to handle all service calls rather than rely on the crappy monitoring service. The monitoring service is really great for *monitoring* only, but their service personnel in my area are the absolute worst. But True Protection is awesome in every respect, and I have much more reliable equipment, at a less expensive cost, with the confidence that John and his team will immediately respond to any future problems without the "handoff" to the monitoring company's horrible and unreliable service. Ask any of their competition if they personally respond to security service requests, or if they hand it off to the monitoring service, and you will be surprised that no one --other than True Protection-- personally handles service calls for their installations. I signed up with True Protection a few years ago. Initially, things were great. The installation was fine and customer service was here locally and very helpful. However, after a year of service, they transferred my account to Brinks without my knowledge. Now, Instead of talking to someone locally for customer service, I have to speak with Brinks (which I have had to do multiple times and it has been absolutely terrible every time). I moved to new place and was looking for home security systems, called almost every local company with good ratings and even bigger national brands. I called John and left him a voice mail, he called me after sometime and explained all the options in details. I called him again after few days and asked several questions related to device,pricing, etc he is extremely professional and patient.
