True Texas BBQ at 1670 E Broad St, Mansfield, TX 76063 Had a very interesting surprise today at H-E-B finding out they had a barbecue restaurant in the store. I was here to check prices on the brisket and found out cooked brisket was on sale inside of "True Texas BBQ". The brisket is typical brisket that is served at restaurant quality that is seasoned just enough so you can sell it to a lot of people. The meat was good and well prepared. To me the sides was the the star They had some collard greens and some coleslaw that was excellent. The barbecue sauce took the brisket up to another level. Definitely if you're shopping in H-E-B and you're hungry for some good barbecue you're already in the right place.

Brisket Turkey Pulled pork Sausage Mac & Cheese Banana Pudding Single Serving

First time trying this place and well, the bbq was pretty good. We got the pulled pork (my fave), sausage (which was also yummy), the brisket (so tender!), and the turkey (also, pretty yummy). The sauces were also delish and paired perfectly with the meat. We got the Mac and cheese as our side, which was ok, since the pasta was too soft for my liking, but the hit of the night was the banana pudding. Definitely one of the best I've ever had. The pudding was light and airy, wasn't too sweet, and the wafers were soft and the bananas completed it. Make sure you buy some and try it for yourself. Overall, it was delicious and all of it cost under $35.

First time here!! Inside H-E-B. I've been waiting to try this BBQ out. My mom and I met at HEB to buy groceries but we wanted to eat first. I got lean brisket and burnt ends with collard greens and brisket beans. I have to admit that the collard greens were the best I've ever had! I finished every single piece! The brisket was nice and Smokey and the burnt ends hit me hard with flavor !! The brisket beans topped it off ! I definitely recommend trying this place out.

True Texas BBQ is located inside the HEB Mansfield location, serving great BBQ, sides, and drinks in an all new inclusive establishment, bringing thousands of Texans together to eat amazing food while picking up everyday house essentials in the brand new grocery store! I came through on a Tuesday to enjoy the all-day happy hour special on draft beers and grabbed a bite to eat. Upon entrance, a sign says no shopping carts allowed, so I'd highly advise you to eat before you shop or head through the drive-through window that is located outside. There is a kiosk available to make purchases in the front for quick service, which is for to go orders or dine in. The only exception is that no alcohol will be made available to purchase through the kiosk. Inside, they have a fountain drink area that serves soft drinks and a cold bar referridgerator bar that has lemonade, sweet tea, and a variety of bottled drink options. As for the draft beers they have on tap, all of them are TX beers and are priced differently. The draft selection is written on a colorful chalkboard and is labeled by the type of beer, a description, and the ABV% along with the price. I decided to get the brisket nachos along with 2 drafts to wash it all down. Inside the dining area, there are multiple tables and chairs along with stools to sit at to enjoy your food. There is also a flat-screen tv inside playing sports as well. Within minutes, my name was called, and my brisket nachos were ready for pickup. The nachos were looking elegant and classy, and all I wanted to do was dive in. The nachos were topped with chopped brisket, queso Blanco, and drizzled with sour cream. They were garnished with bright, vibrant, perfectly cut green onions and complemented with your choice of spicy or sweet BBQ sauce. The brisket was flavorful and smokey while the ice cold draft beers were clean and crisp. Overall, I enjoyed my dining experience at True Texas BBQ, where the drinks and food definitely hit the spot. The customer service was as Texan as could be, while the food variety and choices were plentiful. The prices were average, and the Tuesday Happy Hour was as good as it gets! I'm looking forward to coming back and trying something new, maybe a meat platter or one of the delicious sides they have to offer.

Grabbed some food to take home after grocery shopping. Service - excellent, employees were very helpful. Prices - They are not bad for the amount you get, but not sure if it's worth it taste/quality wise. Brisket - It's pretty salty & more greasy than it should be. Turkey - Dry, I know turkey can get dry but... yep. Generous portion size with this one. Sausage - This was the best out of our 3 meats, great taste. Potato salad - Good choice for our side, happy with it. Cornbread - It was so-so, this was also a generous portion. Not really wowed by it, it's nothing special but it didn't taste bad. The flavors are there.

We come here a couple times a month before grocery shopping. Never want to grocery shop on an empty stomach! BBQ is not the world's best but it's very tasty. Service has been pretty good every time. I especially love that they have beers on tap. Their stuffed baked potatoes are a great deal! Our favs are creamed corn, loaded mac and cheese with sliced brisket, brisket nachos, El jefe sandwich, and of coarse the loaded bake potatoes.

2 meat plate with 2 sides

We chose to taste test the 2 meat plate with 2 sides. Sliced Brisket (lean) and Turkey. Sides we chose Mac-n-cheese and Serrano Cornbread. There were approx 8 people in the restraunt. We chose 2 sodas. ( I say this, only to comment both the ice dispensers were completely out of ice) (Update 30 minutes later and still no ice in the dispensers) Taste - Brisket was good but a little to dry for our tastes. Turkey was also tasty but, a little dry. Serrano cornbread was actually very good(but don't go looking for heat from this item). Mac-n-cheese was also pretty good and creamy. Not the best BBQ by any means , but it's ok?

I hate to say this but the bbq isn't good here. The sauce is abysmal. The meat quality is terrible as well. Won't be back.

Great food. The sides are just as good as the mains. They are a bit slow, but at least you can shop in H-E-B while you wait.

Maaaan we finally tried this place and we were not disappointed! We came here after a day in the…read moresun and were starving so we got the El Jefe to feed our family of 3 with a few additional sides. With the El Jefe platter we got to try ribs, brisket, smoked turkey, burnt ends, pulled pork and a sausage link with two sides (Mac and cheese and baked beans). We ordered a birria taco, small cup of cornbread and elote corn for good measure. The meat was all great, the ribs were tender and falling off the bone, the turkey had a great smoked flavor and was tender as well. The brisket had a good seasoning and the sausage was also delicious. The real star of the show for me was the sides. Their baked beans are like a Mexican -bbq fusion which I've never had before and LOVED. Seriously, a bit of cilantro and seasonings made for a great flavor profile. My husband was swearing by the corn and how tasty it was and my son really enjoyed the Mac and cheese. While we loved 90% of this meal the only thing I would probably not order again was the cornbread - it was pretty dry even with the honey/syrup. It crumbled everywhere and the Birria taco was good, but just missing a bit of spice and hot sauce for me. There was a line of about 10 people ahead of us when we arrived and we probably waited about 30 minutes to actually leave with our food in hand. It felt like it went by quickly. Inside was packed with people eating but they had a nice little bar area towards the back and multiple TVs showing sporting events and things. The walk ways got a little cramped while waiting, but it wasn't terrible. All in all, we spent about $70 bucks to eat here and it was definitely worth it and we'll be back.

Go. Show up early. Wait. Order lots of food. Don't forget dessert. It's all worth it…read more... Hands down, the best barbecue experience I've ever had. I was born and raised in Texas, so I've had my fair share of barbecue, but Goldee's takes it to another level. I recently moved away from Texas, and for my last weekend in town, all I wanted was one more great Texas barbecue experience. A few friends and I decided on Goldie's on a Saturday, and knowing it can get busy, we committed to the full experience. We showed up around 8:30 a.m. with lawn chairs, a cooler of drinks, and some games, and turned the wait into a tailgate. Right before they opened, a staff member came outside and walked everyone through the menu and ordering process. She explained the regular menu items and the specials they were featuring that day, which was helpful when it came time to decide what to order. And as a group of six, we ordered a lot. Honestly, that's the way to do barbecue: get a little bit of everything or, in our case, a lot of everything. The sliced brisket was fantastic, the pork spare ribs were excellent, and the pork belly was incredible. The pork belly was probably the biggest surprise for me because I've never considered myself a huge pork belly fan, but Goldee's may have completely changed my mind. The jalapeño sausage was also delicious. They were featuring Brahman that day, which was similar to brisket, and that was another standout. We also got a beef rib, which was, of course, fantastic. For sides, we had the mac and cheese and pork hash, and both were excellent. And then there's the banana pudding. I love banana pudding, and I genuinely don't think you can leave Goldee's without ordering it. Even a couple of the guys with us who aren't big dessert or sweets people were raving about it. From the food to the staff to the entire experience of hanging out with friends and tailgating before opening, Goldee's was everything I wanted for my last Texas barbecue stop. If you're serious about barbecue, Goldee's needs to be on your list.

This place is AMAZING, it's the best BBQ I've had in my life (I lived in Texas for 20+ years). All the meats were amazing. The pork rib was the best thing, so tender and juicy. The pork belly was a huge surprise - it's so good too. The turkey was one of the most moist turkey I've ever had my entire life. The sausage was cheesy and juicy, one of the best ones I've had. The brisket was solid too, but surprisingly my least favorite of all the meat I ordered. The desserts were decent, but I don't think I would order that again. Would 100% come back and it's definitely worth the 2-3 hour wait. I would recommend coming early at 8 or 9 AM to wait in line and avoid the food selling out (which happens as the day goes on - pretty much everything is sold out by 1 PM).
