Well the service was quick. I got a two meat plate today. Let me say that we moved out of the area five years ago so when we came back the wife wanted Soulman's BBQ! The taste was great but I expected much more for a $20 plate. Quite the disappointment. Man I'm still hungry! Maybe I suppose to fill up on pickles and onions? Pretty bad when Rudy's gives you more Q!

Tried 'em again, just to be sure I wasn't dreaming, or they weren't just having an exceptional day when I visited the first time. Nope -- they're the real deal, they serve up some of the best chicken ANYWHERE, hands down. Do yourself a favor, and git you sum soon as you can.

Food was incredible, I ordered the Tyler and all the meats on it where fantastic. Greatly exceeded my expectations, will definitely be going back again in the near future.

I was told to try Soulman's BBQ, we went straight after church. No crowd. First time here no real welcome to us newcomers and took a while for someone to ask if we were ready to order. I ordered sausage, mac and cheese, cabbage and banana pudding. The banana pudding was the best. I needed a little more flavor for my sausage, so BBQ sauce to the rescue. I don't want my meat to have to need BBQ sauce, I want to keep it as an option. The floor was sticky in some spots and slick in others. I had on my heels and almost busted my tale.

2 meat combo means 2 pieces of meat. Exactly 2 thin slices of brisket.

We have eaten here before and the food is good. This time we got takeout and we each ordered the 2 meat combo. I had 2 thin slices of brisket in mine. My husband's and son's orders were the same. We probably would have gotten a bigger serving ordering the child's portion rather than this platter. Not worth it and the last time we will order takeout from here.

Maaaan we finally tried this place and we were not disappointed! We came here after a day in the…read moresun and were starving so we got the El Jefe to feed our family of 3 with a few additional sides. With the El Jefe platter we got to try ribs, brisket, smoked turkey, burnt ends, pulled pork and a sausage link with two sides (Mac and cheese and baked beans). We ordered a birria taco, small cup of cornbread and elote corn for good measure. The meat was all great, the ribs were tender and falling off the bone, the turkey had a great smoked flavor and was tender as well. The brisket had a good seasoning and the sausage was also delicious. The real star of the show for me was the sides. Their baked beans are like a Mexican -bbq fusion which I've never had before and LOVED. Seriously, a bit of cilantro and seasonings made for a great flavor profile. My husband was swearing by the corn and how tasty it was and my son really enjoyed the Mac and cheese. While we loved 90% of this meal the only thing I would probably not order again was the cornbread - it was pretty dry even with the honey/syrup. It crumbled everywhere and the Birria taco was good, but just missing a bit of spice and hot sauce for me. There was a line of about 10 people ahead of us when we arrived and we probably waited about 30 minutes to actually leave with our food in hand. It felt like it went by quickly. Inside was packed with people eating but they had a nice little bar area towards the back and multiple TVs showing sporting events and things. The walk ways got a little cramped while waiting, but it wasn't terrible. All in all, we spent about $70 bucks to eat here and it was definitely worth it and we'll be back.

Go. Show up early. Wait. Order lots of food. Don't forget dessert. It's all worth it…read more... Hands down, the best barbecue experience I've ever had. I was born and raised in Texas, so I've had my fair share of barbecue, but Goldee's takes it to another level. I recently moved away from Texas, and for my last weekend in town, all I wanted was one more great Texas barbecue experience. A few friends and I decided on Goldie's on a Saturday, and knowing it can get busy, we committed to the full experience. We showed up around 8:30 a.m. with lawn chairs, a cooler of drinks, and some games, and turned the wait into a tailgate. Right before they opened, a staff member came outside and walked everyone through the menu and ordering process. She explained the regular menu items and the specials they were featuring that day, which was helpful when it came time to decide what to order. And as a group of six, we ordered a lot. Honestly, that's the way to do barbecue: get a little bit of everything or, in our case, a lot of everything. The sliced brisket was fantastic, the pork spare ribs were excellent, and the pork belly was incredible. The pork belly was probably the biggest surprise for me because I've never considered myself a huge pork belly fan, but Goldee's may have completely changed my mind. The jalapeño sausage was also delicious. They were featuring Brahman that day, which was similar to brisket, and that was another standout. We also got a beef rib, which was, of course, fantastic. For sides, we had the mac and cheese and pork hash, and both were excellent. And then there's the banana pudding. I love banana pudding, and I genuinely don't think you can leave Goldee's without ordering it. Even a couple of the guys with us who aren't big dessert or sweets people were raving about it. From the food to the staff to the entire experience of hanging out with friends and tailgating before opening, Goldee's was everything I wanted for my last Texas barbecue stop. If you're serious about barbecue, Goldee's needs to be on your list.

This place is AMAZING, it's the best BBQ I've had in my life (I lived in Texas for 20+ years). All the meats were amazing. The pork rib was the best thing, so tender and juicy. The pork belly was a huge surprise - it's so good too. The turkey was one of the most moist turkey I've ever had my entire life. The sausage was cheesy and juicy, one of the best ones I've had. The brisket was solid too, but surprisingly my least favorite of all the meat I ordered. The desserts were decent, but I don't think I would order that again. Would 100% come back and it's definitely worth the 2-3 hour wait. I would recommend coming early at 8 or 9 AM to wait in line and avoid the food selling out (which happens as the day goes on - pretty much everything is sold out by 1 PM).

The brisket and pork ribs were decent, but honestly pretty dry and lacking in flavor when compared to some other BBQ places in DFW. For the price, it's pretty similar to other BBQ in the area. The Texas Twinkie is a jalapeño stuffed with cream cheese and brisket and wrapped in bacon. It was my favorite item as the cream cheese and bacon balanced out the spiciness of the jalapeño. The mac n cheese was also delicious with the perfect amount of spice. The service was great too as they made a mistake on my order and quickly corrected it. I want to preface this by saying, I enjoyed my food as part of a Too Good To Go order and, everything was delicious and I also got a great variety of items. The restaurant is located on the far left side of the Mansfield HEB store and has a drive thru on the outside left side as well. In my bag this evening they provided me with, a baked potato, brisket, mac & cheese, and a creamed corn. The baked potato was great, and I really appreciate that it came with all the fixings, it was also salted on the outside and cleaned! The mac & cheese was creamy, smooth, and noodles cooked well. The star of the show for me was definitely the creamed corn, it had a hint of spice in it, and definitely was a sweet corn which I prefer. Lastly, the brisket, I don't typically like a sauce brisket however, in this case, it was a nice chunk with the well seasoned bark making it enjoyable. Despite the fact that they were 30 minutes to close, the restaurant still had people dining in, and a few others picking up like myself.
