I had a six-inch scratch on rear corner panel. Came in Monday and got a written estimate to repair. Came back Friday to pick up the car to find out I was being charged a lot more. Thier explanation "We made a mistake". If they can't get a quote right on a simple scratch, I can't imagine how bad it must be on a major vender bender. I would give them six stars if I could. My SUV was rear-ended by a non insured motorist. I took it to another collision repair shop and they did a sub par job on my rear bumper as the paint started to peel and parts were loose. I brought it over to Truett's and they talked to my insurance company and then did the repairs over, and after the work was done my SUV looked like it came off the showroom floor. They handled everything with my insurance, they were honest, prompt, and very courteous. If you want your calls for updates returned, Don't go here! This was the worst experience with an auto shop I've ever had. Fix a simple door dent and repaint. They took six weeks and made excuses for the delays. There's dirt in the clearcoat and ripples and blisters in the finish. When I went to pick it up and pointed out the defects in workmanship to the manager, he replied he would write me an estimate to fix it right!!! "Are you freaking serious"!!! You want to charge more to fix your screw ups. Save yourself the aggravation and go somewhere else. read more

So incredibly satisfied with Truett's. My husband was rear ended...not his fault...and we had to get his truck repaired. It was during Christmas holiday and this company gave off their employees (which they should) So AARP insurance tried not to cover the rental car for certain amount of days after their proposed coverage. So I go in and ask the lady at the desk if someone can take a look at my truck and give me an estimate. So guy comes out, we walk out the door and still a good 30 feet from my truck. I had an area between the windshield and the sun roof that peeled off. He says, $1500. I said why so high. He says he has to strip the whole roof down and repaint. I asked him if he could just take care of the area up front and then blend in the paint and clear coat. He says no, I asked why, he tells me if I want it done cheaper, take it to MAACO. Then as he is walking away he just kept on talking.. Well Truetts, I didn't go to MAACO but I found another shop to take care of it. With employees like this guys, I am amazed you are still in business. I used them before and that's the reason I went to them this time. The individuals were very pleasant to work with, professional and followed up when they said they would. The fact that the adjuster's inspection, the repairs and the car rental could all be handled at the same location made this a very easy issue to deal with. Where to begin? Let's just say I am TOTALLY DISSATISFIED with this shop! I suggest to any and everyone to avoid this place! Go elsewhere! There are too many choices around the Grand Strand and I can assure you, a vast majority of them will welcome your business and work hard to make sure you are satisfied. Just not these guys.... I was told that my repair would take around 4-5 days. I also informed them that my air bag light on my dash came on after the accident and could they check it to see if it was related to the accident (the airbag did NOT go off). I told the Geico rep as well as the counter person at Truett's and it was written down on my order. I immediately started receiving texts from Truett's, telling me the status of my repair. Great! I know what is going on and was told at the end of each text (that came daily) that the scheduled date of repair was Thursday 4/23/15. So the morning of 4/23, I received a text that read "Thank you for allowing us to repair your Bmw. We enjoyed working with you. Truett's Auto Collision". Now I don't know about you, but I and EVERYONE I read this to came up with the same conclusion I did; that my car was repaired and ready for pick up. So I drove to 20+ miles to Truett's an hour later to pick it up. I get there and they tell me my car isn't ready and it will probably be later that afternoon or the next day! I asked them why they sent me a text basically telling me it was ready and their response was "Oh, you should have ignored to those texts! We will call you when it's ready!" Excuse me....I should have IGNORED the texts YOU sent me?!?!?!? I am to know this how???? They said, oh, those texts get sent out but we always call when it's ready. Couple of things....why wasn't it put on the end of each text that you will call when it's ready? Why did you send a text thanking me for my business? Why did you text in the first place if they are to be ignored? No matter; I had to drive back home without my car, wasting an hour of MY time and driving an extra 40 miles. So I get a call the next morning (Fri 4/24) telling me my car was ready. So I drive over there again, pick up my car and start to drive home. As I am approaching my exit, I hear this terrible low flapping sound coming from the area of my repair. I pull off the road and see a loose piece of plastic around the wheel well that had not been replaced as it should have and was now loose and beating on the tire. SO, I have to go back AGAIN to return the car! I have to pick the rental back up and head home empty-handed (after another hour and a half of wasted time and 70 more miles) yet again. The following Tuesday (4/28) I am told the car is ready again! So I make my way back for a 3rd time and pick up my car. I was quite upset by this time and was going to speak to the manager/owner about it. I felt I was due some compensation for all the wasted time and poor customer service I encountered. When I got there, there were other customers around and I did not want to make a scene, so I figured I would call after I got home and hopefully calmed down some. Well, on my way home, I noticed my airbag light was still on. So I called them from my car and spoke to the manager. I asked first if they checked the light and he said they did not. Well, you only had my car for almost 2 weeks and you couldn't look at that? After I specifically requested so? I was told I could bring it back to them and they would look at it (Do you really think I was going to take ANYTHING back to them at this point?) or take it to BMW and they could diagnose it. Sure, I get to make ANOTHER trip across town and waste even MORE of my time to have something looked at that they were supposed to do? Great! Just what I wanted to do. So I told the mgr. I was extremely unhappy about that as well as my wasted trips down there. What could they do, he asked? Well, I thought they could reimburse me for my insurance deductible for starters. Before you say that is a lot to ask, realize my deductible is only $100 and the bill was around $2400. That's a little over a 4% discount. Not too much to ask for all my time wasted. If you expect your vehicle back in a timely manner.......DO NOT USE THIS PLACE! They have had my car for exactly seven days now and it is not done, and there was not that much damage done to it, not enough to take seven days to fix. I spoke to a guy there that could not, or chose not to answer the questions that I was asking him, he gave me this story about how they work with other insurance companies (another words if they are being paid top dollar) they will get your car done in a timely fashion. My husband called Friday 3/8/13 and was told the car would be done that afternoon, I called them (afternoon) and was told that it would be done on Monday 3/11/13 late afternoon, well it's now 3:35pm and now I am told it wont be until tomorrow 3/12/13 late afternoon!!!!
