I went in for an oil change, took my own synthetic and filter, and I have a car that the oil canister holder is under the hood....you can literally turn the cap with a socket in ur hand. After noticing them wrenching on this very hard, I remarked about it, to find that it was too late and the broke the canister away from the firewall. I made their corporate pay for a new one installed at my dealer for 631 dollars. I'm hoping the ppl that caused this got fired. I went to get my oil change, all went fine but then I was told I needed a coolant change and I agreed to it. I now have recorded audio after they broke my car after the coolant flush. All hell broke loose with fluids spewing everywhere. Two employees immediately told me I'd have to take my car and have it repaired and bring them the receipt for the repairs to be reimbursed. They offered to tow my car as it wasn't safe to drive. ALL OF THIS IS IN THE AUDO WHICH GOES ON FOR AN HOUR. The next thing that happens is they have 2 different managers tell me there's nothing wrong with my car and now they're not even offering to tow it. Come to find out they put leak-stop in my car, something I had never heard of, but that it also verified by a local dealership. That dealership, which I will deal with on another review must have been intimidated (IMO) by Grant at this Take 5 location in Carolina Forest because the dealership called me AFTER GRANT SHOWED UP AND THIS IDIOT AT TEAM DODGE RELEASED MY PERSONAL INFORMATION ABOUT MY VEHICLE. GRANT THEN CALLED ME AND STATED THAT I WAS TRYING TO DUMP ALL THE REPAIRS ON THEM, BUT GRANT DID NOT REALIZE I RECORDED THE CALLS WITH THE IDIOT AT THE DEALERSHIP TOO. There were other things wrong with my car even though I didn't know it (except for the brakes) and I had previously given the dealership the go-ahead to make $5800 roughly in repairs (of which $1300 was front a rear brakes with new rotors, definitely didn't happen because of the coolant flush) and I was going to sue Take 5 for just the amount their neglect attributed to. I have been going to this same shop for 4+ years only to be treated so poorly. BEWARE, in the beginning I thought they were going to do the right thing, but I started recording them immediately and they kept me there while these managers kept coming and going. I believe one went and bought leak-stop and delivered it to the guys in the bays because all of a sudden they did a 3rd OIL CHANGE TO FIX AN ISSUE THAT STARTED AFTER A COOLANT FLUSH? SEEMS ODD. Asked that someone from corporate call me and they refused to do so. They broke my car and I just don't want it to happen to anyone else. They preyed on the weak knowing that I am partially paralyzed. I don't know how companies take advantage of anyone but it's a form of discrimination to take advantage of someone disabled! I had my oil changed at Take5 in Carolina Forest, SC. I went home and had lunch. After lunch I moved my truck and noticed oil on my driveway. I drove straight to Take5 and discovered they had not wiped th oil that had dripped on my frame. I asked who was going to get the oil spots off my driveway? About 5 PM a y man showed up with a bottle of Dawn and a wire brush. He asked me if I had a power washer he could use. I will not be back to Take5! read more

Often times when I take my car to get an oil change at a near by Walmart auto center I feel extremely judged and uncomfortable since I know so very little. Prior to coming to Take 5 I had a horrible experience at the near by Walmart auto center. At the auto center I waited 30 minutes just to be turned away saying they were done with oil changes for the day so I decided to give 5 Take a try. They exceeded all expectations! So friendly and helpful. It was my first time here so they guided me through the process every step of the way. I will now consider this location as my go to oil change place! We will never go back there again. Overpriced, the place is a joke and the young girl, the only female there working the counter is very incompetent. She overcharged me for the wrong oil change, she obviously needs to be retrained at her job. She also typed my street address in completely wrong after I spelled it out for her two times, that's annoying the spelling wasn't even close. If I could give this a lower rating I would. I went to get an oil change and sat in the bay for 45 minutes without any service or anyone giving indication of when they would get to us. They said to turn off my car but it was so hot out and I had my dog in the car, so I turned my car 2 clicks for some air. We then had to leave because they took way too long and I went to leave (without my oil change done) and my battery had died. All of the workers sat there and stared at us and no one offered to jump the car for us or knew how to jump it but it was their fault we sat there for so long without service and it died . I had to get my own jumper cables and crawl in my trunk from the inside because it was dead and I couldn't unlock the trunk. They then said they would help another customer first who just got there and get to us after. To which I became very angry and the one guy responded with "I've had a hard day too I will get to you when I can." But we had already been there for an hour with NO OIL CHANGE in the heat! Finally a customer brought his car over to help jump the car. So we left with no oil change done and a pathetic coupon for 25% off which is a slap in the face. read more

I called ahead to this location of Take 5 and felt confident about the phone interview to take my car there. When I arrived in the hot midday sun, I was greeted by a being given a bottle of cool water and shown an empty bay to pull my car into. Without having to wait, I got my car's fluids inspected and once I gave them my information and selected my service (I have a vehicle with high mileage). I took my car there March 2023 for a ride-share inspection and 2 days later it sputters and lurches me forward and won't go more than 45 mph. They denied any chance that they messed something up and would not provide me with a free diagnostic test to see what was wrong with it. I went to get my oil changed for my 2016 Volkswagen Passat and was confused because they didn't have any prices listed so i drove in and immediately they started opening my hood and getting things done without even letting me ask how much it would be. I'm a woman so ofcourse they would take advantage of the little knowledge women seem to have about cars .. i asked how much an oil change would cost for synthetic oil and the guy told me it would be $100 to change my oil. I said no thanks and drove my happy ass to Myrtle beach Cadillac and Chevrolet and got it changed for $50 in under 40 minutes. If you're looking to pay less don't go here. On Oct 30 2023, took my car in for a regular oil change, 10 minutes down the road heard something fly of my car, turned around and went back to Take 5 oil change, they told me my Skid plate had fallen of! Asked them what they were going to do about replacing it. They said call back and speak with the manger. Called on 11-1-2023 asked to speak to manager told he would call me back in 10 minutes as he was in the bathroom he never did call me back. Per manager at 1:05pm on 11-2 he called Honda dealership and new skid plate would be back in stock next week, and he would call me when he had it(never did) .Spoke with manager again on 11-9 said it would be in Friday or latest Sat. Per employee on 11-13 part would be there on Wed the 15th. At this point I asked to speak with the manger again, told he was in the bathroom! Employee offered to slap a skid plate they had laying around as a temporary fix,he said he thinks it might fit! .Told him I would wait for the new part, which according to manager he would pick up new part from dealership and install it on the 16th. Arrived at take 5 at 8:30 am on the 16th only to be told that the dealership gave him the wrong part!. He said he spoke with the Honda dealership and the part was actually on a truck in Fayetteville. On 11-20 was told that the manager actually had part in his possession but he would not be in today! Went back on 11-21 to get this part installed only to be told he would not be in till late in the evening, if even then. I have a 2017 VW Jetta, it only takes a filter and 4 1/2 qts synthetic oil.... I stopped by the Myrtle Beach location, no prices listed, so I had to ask about prices and the employee wasn't happy that I asked. Well, he bartered a bit about the different oil grades and said about $98.00..... Lol ! I almost spit!! So I said why so expensive and he said it's not and I should shop around. Well I thanked him for his advice, and went back to Walmart on Seaboard, got my synthetic oil and filter, $45.00 . So 5 minute oil wanted to charge me $50.00 more than Walmart. Took 8 minutes total, which I'm not mad about. They were nice, informative, honest, and helpful. They checked all fluids and tire pressure, and have you start your car (afterwards) to check pressure and seals before leaving.
