My wife and I just came here for the first time as we were looking for a great tapas place with an equally great wine selection...and we can't stop thinking of the next time we will be coming in to replicate the five star experience. There's not one bad bone of this restaurant as it is a family owned establishment with a great staff that is knowledgeable of the food and drinks they provide. The full menu comes from the owner and chef, Enrique (Henry), that has clearly taken his time and experience in multiple countries and restaurants perfecting his culinary craft. Every item we ordered was hands down delicious. The restaurant is European cozy and is perfect for a date night or a great time with friends. The bar area is always where we like to sit and it was perfect as we got to know the whole staff for the night including the teenage self-proclaimed "GM," Sophia. The Sous Chef, Tatiana, was on the kitchen with Enrique, the bar was handled by Debbie and Olivia, and Nina was the additional waitress on staff. Everyone pitched in and helped one another. They all provided great recommendations and know how to make people come back. We had the Lamb Skewers, Dates, Stuffed Mushrooms (in a mouth-watering) Marsala sauce, and Truffle Fries for tapas. All of them were delicious but the Truffle Fries and Mushrooms are going to be a must order every time we come in. We paired it with delicious wine and drinks, including some Port to pair with the home-made tiramisu! It's honestly the best tiramisu we've had and we are picky when it comes to tiramisu. Truffle bistro is an absolute gem and I haven't experienced such a wonderful dining experience like this in such a long time, tonight was a treat! From the moment my husband and I walked in we felt like family. We made reservations through yelp on a whim and so glad we did. We were immediately greeted by Sofia who was so sweet and checked us in. She was very knowledgeable and gave us great insight as to what we should expect with our dining experience. Our server Nina gave us the best service. She was so personable and made amazing food suggestions, the tapas menu is incredible! The wine list and signature cocktail menu was fantastic as well. Everything we ordered was outstanding- tapas, drinks and dessert. The atmosphere is cozy and comfortable, it is just darling! It is small but very open and I enjoyed watching the staff and chef Henry working on preparing the food and taking care of all the other customers. It was just what we needed after a long day of work and a night away from the kids. I recommend this place to anyone who wants an intimate dining experience and to have that welcoming feel. Wow!!! Amazing!!! I am not exaggerating when I say this was the best meal I have in years!!! First, we were greeted by the very charming general manger Sophia (). She sat us and gave us a brief but detailed overview of the meal we were about to experience. Second, our server, Nina, was AMAZING!!! She made great recommendations on food and cocktail selections. Then the food came and OMFG, it was fantastic . We did not have a single bad bite! In fact, the meal seemed to develop into something more magical as we continued to eat. Odd fact. The only item on the menu with anything truffle are their fries. Service was good, atmosphere was cute considering its location in a strip mall next to a flame broiler. Duck breast was grossly over cooked, fries was great, oxtail was a bit rich but well cooked. read more

Definitely a gem! Smaller, quaint restaurant you could miss it if you're not looking carefully. Tony was our server and showed thorough knowledge of the rather large menu, we ordered almost everything he had recommended. From the tapas we ordered the Gnocchi Gorgonzola, Albondigas, Spanish Mussels, Duck Breast, and Ahi tartare. All were a hit, no misses. I think the gnocchi and duck breast were tied for our favorite. We also tried the Risotto con Pesto, the rich pesto and sundried tomatoes were a great addition to the rice dish. To end our night we indulged in some amazing espresso martinis, and Tony sent us some decadent Limoncello cake for dessert. I'm so glad this place is local, we live right around the corner! Excellent service, excellent food. We ordered: stuffed mushrooms, squash ravioli, and bone marrow to start. Main dish was the short rib pappardelle and finished with the cannolis. This is a restaurant where everything on the menu is good. My partner and I exchanged glances of satisfaction many times throughout the meal, to say the least we very much enjoyed the food. A bit of a hole-in-the-wall vibe, and has a home-like atmosphere, but has a nice interior for date night. Enjoyed brunch at Truffle Bistro today for the first time. It was the musician Cowboy John that brought me today, but I'll definitely be back for the tapas. Today, I had the greek omelet and bottomless mimosas. The omelet was fine, but I ordered stuffed dates for the table, and they were amazing! Dates stuffed with gorgonzola, wrapped with bacon and grilled, they were little bites of heaven! Also had the marinated olive and feta tapas, which was very tasty. The sausage tapas consisted of 3 types of Spanish sausage, grilled and presented in a small cast iron skillet. Wonderful flavors! My Italian friend had the anchovy tapas, called boquenerones, and loved them. I definitely want to go back and try more tapas with friends. read more

We had both ordered pasta entrees and our server Tony praised us for our choices, saying the chef makes amazing pasta and is known for his pasta. Oh my goodness, he was right, we were SO glad we chose pasta! We could not stop raving about the penne pasta with creamy balsamic sauce. Pasta was cooked to al dente perfection and the creamy sauce was in abundance (we totally dunked our pita bread in it). The balsamic vinegar compliments the sauce so well! We came here twice pre-Covid and both times it was out of this world amazing. You can tell the chef takes his love for cooking into everything related to his menu. Fresh ingredients and innovating dishes kept us coming back. We recently went back to visit and were lucky to be seated since they were hosting a party of 30 which took the whole inside sitting area. We were so glad to know they were still operating, we didn't mind at all. Unfortunately the meatballs we ordered were stone cold in the middle. I hate to think they are frozen because it takes the magic away from the amazing cuisine. Not the best way to start the evening. Everything else we ordered was delicious, tuna tartar, shrimp, gnocchi. As every time before the service was fantastic. Very friendly and knowledgeable, had a great attitude throughout the whole evening. We will be back. One of the few tapas restaurants in OC; I find this place to be a bit more authentic with their Spanish tapas than Cafe Sevilla. Great ambience, reminded me of being in Spain with the smaller tables, bar and wine bottles/art on the walls. Fantastic food. Everything is delicious, especially the butternut squash ravioli, bacon wrapped dates, gambas al ajillo, cesaer salad and queso di cabra. My husband loves the mussels too. Still need to try their entrees, but they looked yummy too. Would love to see them have a Spanish tortilla or patatas bravas as a monthly special sometime ;) read more

I really was not impressed with this restaurant. My dad chose it for his birthday dinner so we went along with it(7 of us). Over all service was fair at best. We had many gaps throughout the evening including trying to get our bill to pay. Questions we asked were not addressed appropriately.. Moat of us had never been here before so would of appreciated some suggestions/guidance which we didn't get. I felt the prices were extremely high. For example for a paper cone of fries that we hoped to share as an appetizer was almost 12 dollars which was barely a single serving. My Caesar Salad in a gigantic bowl was the smallest portion I have ever seen(about the size of a closed fist)) and was 10 dollars. On a brighter note they did give my dad a dessert of choice for his birthday. That was very delicious This whole experience left me feeling kind of blah. Maybe it's not the type of place to go with larger groups. I'm sorry, but I wasn't comparing your fries to in and out and someone must have forgotten to put the croutons on my salad because I didn't have any. I would be more than happy to share more about our experience but I don't want to get in a word war. Food is so freaking amazing! The meatballs and ox tail are just out of this world with flavor. Wines pair super well with the food if you start with light flavors and white wine and work your way up to deeper red wines. I was taken here on a date for my birthday, and it was (mostly) great! the food was amazing, we got the oxtail, marrow, a watermelon cooler and butternut squash ravioli, and it was all tapas style small and extremely tasty, some of the best food I've had all year. One thing to note was that we were the only people there for a good portion of the time. Typically, this doesn't bother me, so I decided to sit near the kitchen so we could perhaps watch the food being prepared. Unfortunately, this meant we sat too close: the chef was basically staring us down our whole meal. I could understand the anxiety of having few people come in and wanting them to really like the food, but I could not feel safe commenting on the food or even carrying a conversation on personal matters due to the unrelenting attention of the chef peering at us out of the corner of my eye. I have a feeling others would share my feelings that I'd love to come again when it is more busy or if the chef tries to watch less to avoid this issue, but based on other reviews, this seems rare. TL;DR: Amazing food! But sit far away from the bar. read more

After reading the reviews I wanted to try this place out. I am not disappointed. The restaurant is small & quaint. Right now they offer patio dining with some indoor seating. They practice Covid conditions about masks & distancing. This place checks off all the aspects of good dining. The service is friendly, quick & attentive (my pet peeve). The food is excellent with having tapas & entree options there is so much to try. The special they were offering was beer battered fried artichoke hearts. They are AMAZING! They were covered with just about of batter that was crunchy & not mushy. Another tapas plate we tried was the stuffed mushrooms, very flavorful! We also ordered the Spanish stew which had a ton of mussels and the flavors were spot on. The Mahi Mahi dish was perfectly portioned and the fish was delicious & flaky.
