    Oyster Sampler
    Samantha L.

We LOVED it here! Definitely coming back with the rest of the family. The oyster sampler was perfect for the 3 of us. The clam chowder is amazing. The miso sea bass was also super good. Pretty upscale atmosphere. Perfect for a date night or a nice dinner with the fam. The service was great until it became peak dinner time and I think they might've forgot about us. Didn't really come back to check on us once we got our food.

We celebrated Father's Day two days early and the men chose King's Fish House. I usually make most of my reservations through Open Table, but nothing was available for a party of nine for lunch, so I called the restaurant. The hostess who answered my call was able to "squeeze" us in at 1:15 PM. Service was fantastic from the moment we walked through the door. Both hostesses were so friendly and welcoming and seated us right away (we did arrive about 15 minutes early). Our server, Colleen, was also fantastic! She was very easy to talk with as we had a couple of short conversations during our time there. She was also very pleasant when my daughter's cheeseburger came with everything on it, which she only eats plain, and took it back and had it made the way she likes it. Everyone was very happy and satisfied with what they ordered. I wanted to try something different and decided to order the Seafood Cioppino. It had a nice variety of seafood such as fish, crab, three shrimp, calamari, clams and mussels. It was a bit hard to eat because I had to peel the shrimp and crack open the crab, so it did get a bit messy. I was given a bib to use, which came in handy. My son and I ordered the Crunchy Roll and it's one of the BEST we've ever tasted! My family and I would agree the BEST food was the sourdough bread and butter that comes with our meals! It's always so hot and freshly made! The restaurant wasn't too crowded, which made it even nicer for all nine of us to talk and enjoy our Father's Day celebration!

Came here for dinner and had a pretty good experience overall. The crab cakes were delicious and packed with flavor. I'd definitely order those again. I also tried the clam linguine, which was just okay for me. It had a very strong seafood flavor and I wish it had a bit more butter to balance everything out. The fish and chips were good with nice flavor, but the batter was a little soggy on one side but still enjoyable just not as crispy as I was hoping for. Overall, a solid seafood spot with some standout dishes, especially the bread and crab cakes. I'd come back to try more of the menu.

The food is sooo good! The oysters were super fresh, and everything we tried tasted amazing. The service was also great. Everyone was really kind, welcoming, and super attentive. The place itself has such a nice vibe too, perfect for just chilling, having some good food, and enjoying the atmosphere.

Great place for dinner! We had our dinner here with our son and his fiancé. The ambience is perfect to have Sunday drinks and light food. The food are all flavorful. Their cocktail drinks are mixed well...I had old Fashioned. The service was also superb... kudos to Jason. He made our experience the best. For this experience I will give it 4.7

I'm not sure who is rating this below five stars. Did they eat their food? Our food was great. Come early, it gets very busy. The fish is delicious and well prepared. The sides are worth sampling.

Service was great waitress was nice complimentary bread nice too. Marie loved her halibut. I on the other hand did not care for the seafood soup! Huge pieces of tomato the calamari were teeny tiny pieces that were over cooked not good at all. The other tiny fin pieces of fish were ridiculously tiny and there were only 2 and I'm sorry too over priced, there were too many onions and red peppers and green peppers. Your side house salad being $12.50 too high priced same for Caesar salad $12.00. I can see $6 each but not $12.50 or $12.00! There were nice big fish on walls and crab and lobster tanks too .

Definitely coming back. We didn't know which oysters to get so we got the sampler then ordered another dozen of the ones our table liked the most. The food was great, our server was so helpful and patient.

Came here for dinner. This place has always been impeccably clean and the staff friendly and helpful. We started with calamari and an oyster flight. For entrees, we got lobster roll and nawlins bbq shrimp, Calamari- Served hot and fresh. The breading is crisp and tasty with a soft and chewy interior. The aioli and tartar sauce on the side enhances every bite. Oyster Flight- The oysters are so fresh and meaty! Each type has a unique flavor and you get a variety of condiments and sauces to go wih it. Lobster Roll- I got this maine style which is cold with mayo. The lobster is fresh and juicy and the sauce elevates the flavors without overpowering it. The roll is warm and buttery and the fries are perfectly crisp. Nawlins Bbq Shrimp- This is a sweet and tangy dish! The shrimpis juicy and the sauce tickles the tastebuds. Served with fluffy rice and a side of garlic bread. Great experience overall!

Long-time diner, first-time reviewer. This place has become a special spot for us - it's where we had our very first date, so I thought it'd be meaningful to come back a year later for our anniversary. They also went out of their way to seat us at the same table where we sat a year ago upon our request! They are so sweet for doing that! I had added a little note in my OpenTable reservation just to see if they'd acknowledge it, and they did! They surprised us with a complimentary anniversary dessert - a generous portion of bread pudding with a scoop of vanilla ice cream (forgot to take a picture!) - which definitely earned major brownie points! The bread and butter here are always a hit - freshly baked, hot, and perfectly crunchy every time. My go-to entrée is always the Chilean Seabass. They make it perfect here - flaky and "stringy", and seasoned just right. They offer it two ways: Miso Yaki (my favorite) which is sweet and saucy with veggies, and Wild Ross, which is grilled and a bit on the drier side. We ordered both tonight, and they were solid dishes all around. I'll admit the price is steep at $44 each, but they're consistently delicious. Overall, we had a great experience - both the food and service delivered. We'll definitely keep coming back.

Halibut was excellent. Great baked potato.

I think this is on everyone's speakeasy list!…read more Make sure you make a reservation It is very packed. They offer bar seating and booth / table Follow the wall from Randy's donuts and Look for a wall of Japanese sake/beer barrels and head towards the restaurant - the rolling boil. There will be a check in host and stand there and wait (it will be located up against the wall with a big secret door right next to the hostess station) It's very New York inside. When I first came in Spring with the amazing, Karen, the menu and everything was great Now, I took my friend who was in town from Nashville and it was a brand new theme. It's the great Gatsby. Even our waitress, Jasmine was dressed for the occasion. I would say this place is known for Absinthe. They have cocktails featuring it or you can get one of the huge apparatus (huge and glowing green) which, if you are into it? I highly recommend. Just one of the huge apparatus makes one regular drink. Or, what Karen and I did, was split it and make it into a shot for the both of us. The waitress comes out and shows you how it works and goes over everything. Karen, who I came with, was a pro and knew her way around it. She showed me the ropes lol. Honestly, if you are here? When in Rome. Go all out and try it, since it's where they shine here. They took off a few menu items and added some themed drinks. ( a couple new champagne themed drinks) They have big entree items but I suggest small bites and sharing and mostly coming for the drinks. There's no bathroom inside, so you do have to leave the bar and go to the closest one (over behind Randy's donuts) and then enter the speakeasy again Both times coming here I've never had an issue. It's a small, packed place. And yet they still have the cocktails flowing and the food coming out in a good time. So the food and drinks are good Atmosphere is lovely. Service is good. Especially for it usually being very busy in here This place is located inside the Anaheim packing district. So I suggest hitting up a couple other spots before or afterwards for some more food or drinks P.S. it is very dark In here. They never cared if we used our light to look at the menu. However, they do not want flash photography They also do not strictly enforce a dress code (my friend from Nashville asked) however, they suggest dressing business casual and not too underdressed

I really liked the clarified strawberry drink, similar to strawberry and cream. I ordered a drink after that unfortunately forgot the name (photo attached with a tall glass) but there was no special cocktail craft taste to it. Just hard liquor taste and undrinkable :( the bartender kindly offered another drink. Unfortunately none of the food was the least bit good. Steak and fries was ordered medium rare and cooked to medium well with what seemed like no seasoning was on there at all. Crab cake was just ok and the slaw beneath it was drenched in a vinaigrette that was just sour and unpleasant. And the Mac and cheese, as we were very hopeful and looking forward to, was probably the blandest Mac and cheese we ever had. We asked the lady bartender for salt and she handed us, no exaggeration (and you guys will probably think I am) a salt shaker with 10 grains of salt in it and said "looks like there's a lil something you could still get out of there" My jaw dropped. But yeah. The shredded meat on top of the Mac and cheese was cooked beyond the point of edible. That one was unfortunately sent back bc we just couldn't eat it. We were bummed over all mostly about the food.

We…read morefirst returned in early June since they introduced some new cocktails and food to the menu. The other visits were just because this is by far our number one place. Recently added cocktails: Buzzin' Jungle Bird (Jamaican gold rum, coffee infused campari, dark rum, pineapple, lime, hemp orgeat, cane, Angostura bitters). This is a great spin on a jungle bird, with some complexity and coffee flavor. I'm usually not a big fan of coffee, but it is at a good level. Chi Chi (Whey vodka, pineapple, lime, date, honey, coconut, salt). This has a great creamy texture which I believe comes from the dairy component of the whey vodka. It is well balanced with some sweetness, and I could taste the coconut and date flavors. Lapu Lapu (Asian rum, Jamaican rum, dry curacao, lime, orgeat, demerara). It is juicy, well balanced, and served with a flaming sugar cube on top. This is the cocktail they chose to serve at their booth at Tiki Oasis recently which says a lot, try it! Thai Me Down (Barbados rum, coconut liqueur, papaya, lemon, demerara, Thai basil). It is served old-fashioned style, and was light and perfectly balanced. Those Thai inspired flavors were all noticeable. Demerara Dry Float. They added and took this one off the menu as of now. It was a balanced light citrusy drink which was served with a delicious sidecar of Hamilton 151 rum infused with banana chips. I sipped half of that and mixed the rest into the cocktail. It was served with a beautiful ice shell. I'm guessing it was too labor intensive, and took up a lot of space in their freezers. Recently added food: Ahi Poke Nachos (marinated ahi tuna, masago, avocado, cucumber, spicy mayo, furikake, green onion). This is such a tasty starter with so many textures and flavors. I love that the nachos are wontons too, and not just chips. Crab & Cream cheese wontons. Nice crisp wontons with a good amount of crab and cream cheese inside. The chili sauce and spicy mayo adds another layer of flavor, and there is a slice of jalapeno on top for a little heat. Pan-Seared Scallops. This was an excellent lighter entrée. The four scallops are cooked perfectly, and even have a little dollop of caviar on top. I liked the mix of veggies and really liked the bed of potato puree underneath. Steak & Eggs (8oz hanger steak, crying tiger glaze, Nam Jim Jaew sauce, sunny eggs, rice). I normally wouldn't try steak & eggs for dinner, but I can't resist a good hanger steak. It was cooked a perfect medium rare and I appreciate that it was pre-sliced. The crying tiger glaze and sauce were so flavorful. There's plenty of rice to soak up any left egg yolk or sauce. Recently added desserts: Dubai Chocolate Lava Cake. This was excellent, but it's definitely sweet and rich. Save some room if you plan on ordering this. Ube Flan Cake. I'm usually not a fan of flan, but I have to try anything with ube and this was good. The cake had nice ube flavor, and I liked that the flan was a little firm since the looser custardy/gelatinous texture is not for me. This is definitely a lighter dessert than the lava cake. It's not a new drink, but I also had the Naval Grog for the first time. (Lost Voyage rum, overproof white rum, allspice dram, lime, grapefruit, demerara, honey). It is boozy with nice spice notes. Other repeat cocktails enjoyed were Tales from the Black Lagoon (my favorite), Missionary's Downfall, Agave Parrot, Singapore Sling, and Serpents Grasp all of which are excellent. Their cocktails, food, ambiance, and service are always top notch. Thank you Ying, Erica, Greg, Jordan, Joey, Iris, Karen, Kyle, Joy, and John for your wonderful hospitality during our visits. We will return again soon!

The inside of the restaurant is a smaller establishment so I can see why reservations would be difficult. They have a plethora of drinks! Mostly specializing in specialty rum cocktails. Ordered the ritual of the Queen which was a specialty drink with tequila and coconut rum. Very delicious! For food our table shared the Loco Moco and chicken katsu. Both delicious! Since I was already there (and starving), I decided to stay. The spooky decor is totally my vibe, so I was happy to give it a shot. The food was decent not bad by any means, but it didn't have that wow factor. I've definitely had better steaks and mac & cheese, but everything was cooked fine and tasted good. The steak was a little pricey for the quality, but honestly, what isn't expensive anymore.... Service was good. My waitress was attentive, though to be fair I was the only customer there at the time. My only real complaint is that the place felt a little quiet. With the spooky theme, some music would really help set the mood and elevate the atmosphere. Overall, this ended up being a pleasant surprise. I'd recommend it for food and drinks, and I personally enjoyed it much more than Villains Brewery (you can read my review on that one... no bueno). Not sure if the two businesses are connected, but I had a good experience at one and a bad experience at the other. ‍

Had a lovely time on Saturday after lunch at the Anaheim Packing District. I had always passed by…read morethis place and never went in, even though the outside looked so cool and fascinating. When we entered, the inside felt like we were in the inside of a train, there were various train themed decoration scattered throughout the walls and floors. My girlfriend got the sex in this city cocktail and I opted for the painkiller cocktail. Both were stunning and delicious. Lots of different photo ops for you and your loved ones as well as movies playing behind the bar. We also loved our bartenders, who made our drinks with ease and were knowledgeable in the different drink items. Overall, would definitely visit again!

We arrived about an hour after opening, and the bar already felt completely unprepared. The bartender was eating food at the bar while we were there, and after getting our initial drinks, we were essentially left on our own. She never checked back with us, and not once were we asked if we wanted another drink. For a place I had been excited to finally visit, this was easily one of the worst bar experiences I've ever had. The service was inattentive, the atmosphere felt unprofessional, and the overall experience left a very bad impression. Unfortunately, I won't be coming back.

(Update: the staff was very nice and let me know that the other side might tow on weekends!) Even though I don't drink alcohol, I thought it was very cool with the Hawaiian themes and there were so many cool cocktails. Apparently there's a speakeasy in this bar too. The food was very good as we got burgers, sandwiches, onion rings and ice cream. Our servers were very nice and attentive. Food came out quickly and it wasn't too loud. No complaints and I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a nice to place to eat and drink.

Stowaway has the near perfect blend of high end tiki mixed with what I call the "brewers dive bar"…read more Disguised in a dumpy looking strip mall is one of the better tiki experiences I have had. Is it as high end and bougie as Strong Water? No. Does it tickle your fancy and offer a wonderful experience that even your kids can enjoy? Absolutely! Kids- yes they are welcome. In fact mine had the time of their life. Just don't be those parents and bring them after 7. It is a tiki bar after all and unless they follow the rules of Arrested Development then let them chill at home with grandma and grandpa or maybe their weird Uncle Joe. Drink- Delightful. Very fun themed glassware. Presentations were beautiful and well thought out. Our server did a great job at recommending drinks that built on top of the previous one. Food- the weakest part of the experience. While certainly not bad however when compared to the rest of the experience it just was a bit lacking. The Loco Moco looked very nice. The patty was quite dry though. Yes there's gravy but that's not an excuse for a dry patty. Mac salad was very nice. Stowaway fries were fun and tasty. It is smothered in gravy so be prepared to lose the crispy fries about halfway into the dish. All in all I (and my wife and kids(before7) and weird Uncle Joe) will be back.

Not just…read morebecause the food was delicious, as usual, but because we had the incredible fortune of having Scotty as our server. Scotty took what was already a great date night and made it truly memorable. Not only was he the best server we've had since we started dining at Puesto, but I'd go so far as to say he was one of the best servers I've ever had anywhere. Scotty had a calm, understated demeanor that was part of his charm. He was genuine, attentive, extraordinarily kind, and somehow managed to keep my Diet Coke with lime full the entire evening. He anticipated our needs before we even had to ask and was always there at just the right moment. Best of all, he laughed at my dad jokes. While the food was outstanding, Scotty made the experience even better. His service elevated an already great meal into an exceptional evening. We will absolutely be requesting Scotty's section every time we visit Puesto Anaheim.
