Short rib empanadas with a smoked paprika aioli and sangria
    Erin R.

We were in the mood for Tapas and this place caught our eye. The owner/chef is from Portugal and made some amazing food. We had short rib empanadas, fried calamari, Spanish sausages, Mussels with chorizo in tomato broth, and of course Sangria. The food was fresh, flavorful and perfect. Our waitress was very attentive and pleasant. The location is in a strip mall which can be deceptive, but inside the feeling is warm and welcoming.

I love tapas! My friend and I stopped by for an early dinner and got a few dishes to try. They were able to seat us despite no reservation. The restaurant has an open kitchen concept where the owner is also the head chef. They were able to accommodate allergy concerns (balsamic on the side for the sprouts). The duck breast was slightly overcooked but the flavor was so good it didn't really matter. The gnocchi were pillowy and the short rib was super tender. The calamari steak was unique, and I enjoyed it! I'd come back the next time I'm in the area, and get someone else to drive so I can try some of their cocktails.

This was a small cute restaurant. Staff were really friendly and gave their opinions on food options. Service was great, we never ran out of water. The restaurant is very much open concept so you can see the kitchen from all angles. I LOVED the way they presented their deserts for us to choose. They brought out the deserts on a tray for us to visually see what each looked like. Super cute, never saw a restaurant do it that way before.

I went to Truffle Bistro for the first time last Sunday for a wine pairing dinner. There was a delicious 5 course meal paired with tasty wine from the Willamette valley. It was a full house and the staff handled it perfectly. I highly recommend trying it for a fun and delicious evening out.

Truffle Bistro is an amazing place for Tapas - aka: appetizers. Everything we have EVER ordered has been delicious and we've tried almost everything on the menu. The only reason we haven't tried everything is that the owner, Henry, changes the menu to keep things fresh and in season. The place is very intimate with a cool vibe. Sit at the bar and watch the chefs work their magic We had Gnocchi in Gorgonzola sauce, Spanish Sausages, Duck Breast in Pomegranate sauce, Lamb Meatballs, and Bacon-Wrapped Dates with Gorgonzola. For dessert we had Tiramisu (amazing!) and a Chocolate Dome over a Chocolate Lava Cake. And if that doesn't make you hungry - I don't know what would! It's a little pricey, but worth every dollar. You won't have anything else like it in Orange County.

This is a quaint place for tapas! Our server was really nice and offered recommendations. That was very helpful because they had an extensive menu and we were having a hard time picking dishes. We finally decided on stuffed mushrooms, red wine braised chorizo, short rib gnocchi, grilled octopus. The mushrooms were nice and savory. It was stuffed with cheese and perfectly seasoned and finished off with a sauce. The chorizo had a rich flavor that was heightened with the red wine braise. The octopus had a beautiful char and was accompanied with roasted potatoes and tomatoes. The latter added a nice freshness to every bite. The gnocchi was nice and tender and the short rib was flavorful. Great shareable meal!

    Chocolate dome dessert was divine!

We had such a great meal, I almost hate to tell others about this place! Truffle Bistro provided a lovely, quiet evening with tapas, great wine, and live music. We loved the artichokes, goat cheese and tomato sauce, and garlic shrimp. Didn't love the charge for extra bread, but overall prices were reasonable and comparable to appetizers at other establishments. Delaney was a gracious server with an excellent eye for best practices and guest preference. I'm looking forward to bringing friends and family to show off this special place in Orange.

We stopped by here on my birthday for a nice evening dinner. Got there a little before sunset. There's just something magical about eating outside during a sunset, especially at the Orange Plaza. The restaurant has such a cool look and vibe! We started off with the Hamachi crudo, salmon ceviche, and a bowl of clam "chowdah". The crudo was absolutely delicious, highly recommend. The salmon ceviche was really good but a bit heavy on the sauce for me. The clam chowder had whole clams in the shell throughout. That was fun to pick them out! For entrees we got the lean and mean plate with sea bass. It comes with salad and rice, we substituted the rice for black beans. We also got the skirt steak "bulgogi" which was served on top of mushrooms and bok choy with a sweet soy sauce. They accidentally brought out salmon instead of sea bass, but were very apologetic. They brought out a sea bass on the side and comped the entree to make up for it. Great service right there! The salmon and seabass were both delicious and cooked perfectly. The steak was tender and juicy, full of flavor. As a birthday gift they brought out a thai milk tea blondie sundae which was soooo good! Get it if you like sweets. I wish the owners all the best in their future endeavors, they created a great restaurant that many will miss. This menu has selected tapas items that range in price from $8 to $19. We ordered the Pan Con Tomate ($8) which comes with sliced toasted bread slices, tomato pulp, a delicious olive oil and a side of sea salt. You take a piece of toast, squirt some of the olive oil on top, then pour on the tomato pulp. Light, tasty and delicious. Next up, the Patatas Bravas ($9). Perfectly roasted spicy potato cubes, slathered with tomato sauce and a garlic aioli. WOW! So simple yet so good. I licked the plate clean. Next up, the Bikini Sandwich ($9). Two small perfectly toasted cheesy sandwich wedges that have Iberico ham, manchego cheese and a hint of truffles. It was really delicious and the special ham was the star of the show. These are great starting items, yet surprisingly filling. I couldn't stop there though and wanted to order some of their famous paella. I decided on the Paella De Carne ($53). This is a meat paella with pork belly, chorizo, blood sausage, duck confit (a leg & thigh), beef cheek, with bomba rice and a garlic aioli. You have to wait about 20 minutes for them to make it but it's worth the wait. It was perfectly cooked and awash in flavor. The special paella pan they prepare the dish in looked well seasoned and I wished I could have taken it home. The menu is extensive with lots of choices to accommodate any palate. The restaurant is beautiful and has a front and back patio seating. If you have a choice, sit on the back patio. There is valet parking for $12, but there is a parking structure right across the street that provides easy access and is free with validation.
