Incredible food and service, we came back with friends. For small restaurant five stars.

Fantastic experience! We arrived on a Friday, around 7 pm. The restaurant was full and busy. The space is small with just a few tables. We felt like we walked in to a cute little mom and pop restaurant from our travels to Europe. We were acknowledged immediately. Larger groups were also waiting for a table and the hosts who were also the servers asked if we would like to sit at the bar top since larger tables were full. We like the bar so of course. So glad we did! We got to see the owner in action. Literally one man show. He cooks everything, no help. No pantry cook, line cook, nada. He did tell us it was the busiest day they had ever had, being open around 4 weeks. He was amazing! But in my opinion, after that night, he could probably use a hand on weekend nights. (Good problem to have, restaurant was full with people waiting for tables to get up) I had flashbacks of my old restaurant management days where tickets would go flying and food was getting sent back, etc. At one point, things were getting a little harry but he recovered like a pro and with a smile. On to the food. We tried: - Caprese Salad - Lamb Meatballs - Mussels and Clams - Gambas al Ajillo - Spanakopita Everything was served tapas style so it gave us a chance to try a lot of different things. Everything was delicious! Unfortunately, a few things had already run out like lamb chops and ahi tartar. Understandable. They had NEVER been that busy before. Food was incredibly reasonably priced as well. Overall, a really awesome experience. All the servers worked together well and provided a great dining experience. The owner/exec chef is kind and pushed out delicious food. Obviously have a little work to do but for being open 4 weeks, I thought they handled it incredibly. Maybe it was because it was Valentine's day and the restaurant was packed for a 7PM reservation. We ordered a small salad and some tapas. We didn't see the first tapa, just olives, until almost 45 min after we ordered. Spanish sausages were good. Calamari was very thin so mostly tasted like bread. But the worst was we ordered meatballs that we were waiting for as it was the final tapa after being there almost 1.5 hours. When I inquired from our inattentive server Olivia she advised that they'd run out of meatballs. WHAT?!?!? When did you plan to tell us? Then no real sorry or offer to make it up, so we had to just order another simple tapa that took another 20 min to come out even though our server said "she put a rush" on it LOL. I had high expectations for Truffle Bistro but unfortunately it really missed the mark, and I doubt we will be going back again. read more

I just found my new favorite spot to eat while traveling for business in Los Angeles!! Found this place via Yelp of course! The place is packed to the gills at 7 pm on a Tuesday so I sidle up to the bar. It's a pleasure to watch Henry, the owner and chef, work his magic! He's great at not burning anything, keeping his area clean while keeping up with the orders...which keep coming, by the way! He's also taking care of customers shouting his name and needing extra attention while remaining calm and personable. Super place, great atmosphere, excellent food and the wine selection looks uh-maaazzzing!!!! I am (unfortunately) wine free tonight due to an important early morning meeting (). Otherwise I would have added a glass of red! I'll let the food do the speaking. One last note, I watched Henry wash his hands multiple times during my meal. Also, he's kind to his staff...that says a lot about his character. I'll be back! read more

Showed up on a Friday night - could tell that this place was full of regulars. Met a very impressive teenager who checked on us and got us water. Like everywhere - they are understaffed so be patient; totally worth it. Great drinks and food. Apparently most have reservations so make those if you can. read more

I'm a fan from the beginning. Fourth time here, finally writing a review. Chef is a lesson in zen. Sit at the bar, order a bottle of wine (list is great, but in the summer, ask for a chiller even for red, the have a small space and there's no wine cooler). I absolutely love the tapas menu. I love the beers on draft. I love the staff. The guitar music on weekend nights is beautiful and not intrusive. Visit. Eat. Drink. read more

Literally found this place on accident. I was driving around with my fiancé and we stopped to get money out from the ATM at the 7-Eleven and noticed this place. I never even knew what tapas was, but wow I was blown away. Not only was the food absolutely delicious, but I liked the feel of the restaurant. Truffles make everything better. Truffle fries, truffle burgers, and chocolate truffles. So can truffles make a bistro better? First time eating at the Truffle Bistro, a relatively new, restaurant in Tustin. Overall, a great dining experience. I hope that people give this place a try. Service: Our server, Tony, was very attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. Loved his recommendation on the fried cauliflower. This was very risky for me because I hate cauliflower, but this was fried and it was very tasty. We ordered the below food and drinks. Tapas: Pita bread - olive oil and feta cheese is complimentary and was a great starter Special - puff pastry with feta cheese, tomatoes and balsamic vinegar. This was good but a little more balsamic vinegar than I prefer Stuffed mushrooms - a good lighter dish Rabo de toro - oxtail was the standout item for me. The oxtail was nice and tender with yummy pieces of fat. The sauce was addicting and the pita bread goes well with it. Fried cauliflower - I'm a cauliflower hater, but changed my mind on this fried cauliflower dish Mussels and clams - this is a go to favorite wherever I can find it. This was not a let down. Drinks: Pomegranate lemon drop martini was okay and definitely drinks wasn't there focus or strong suit. Berry bistro old fashioned was again okay. Overall I really enjoyed the experience at Truffle Bistro. I hope people give it a try. read more

I don't even know where to start. EVERYTHING is super delicious. Small, shareable portions so you can try many different dishes. The owner/chef is amazing at his job! What a gem in the Collins/Tustin Neighborhood. We came on. Saturday evening and were able to get seated quickly. The restaurant was busy and the ambience was great. There was a musician who played at the perfect tempo/level for the space. We had several appetizers, a pizza, and entree. Everything was delicious. This little jewel in Tustin far exceeded my expectations! When my daughter and I walked in we were immediately impressed with the ambiance. The big band/soulful jazz music and candles on tables provided a unique and enjoyable dining experience. We were amazed at the deliciousness of everything we tried! We love that there are tapas in addition to more traditional servings. The stuffed mushrooms were to die for...the artichokes were amazing! Everything was SO good, including the orange chocolate type bomb cake at the end. yum! (oh yeah....great wine selection too :)). Then to add to all the deliciousness.... we realized that the chef, who owns the restaurant, is the only chef, and openly prepares the food where the patrons can watch from an elevated bar type thing. (next time we'll do this....we found out too late :). Our server was charming, engaging and super attentive to our needs, without hovering. Tried this restaurant out for the first time and absolutely loved it. Small, cozy and clean. Had the lamb shank cooked to perfection. Also the chicken farfalle with marsala sauce was delicious. We paired with montepulciano d'abruzzo and had a most enjoyable dinner! Our waiter anthony was very attentive and nice and answered all our questions. We will definitely be coming back. read more

I hate to leave a negative review for a small business so I'll start with the positives. The staff were really friendly and pleasant. We ordered at least eight items off the menu and everything was very solid. Some of the best tiramisu I've ever had... and I've been to Italy many times! The duck was very well prepared. Everyone LOVED the ox tail. The prosciutto wrapped Brie was a pleasant surprise. Our waitress Avi was very pleasant and hard working - and knew the menu well... This place is soooo good! We were just driving by looking for somewhere to have a drink and a snack and I have now found my new favorite restaurant. The prices are fair for tapas and the food is excellent. The tuna tar tar is definitely my favorite. So much tuna and avocado! And they have my favorite beer, Mission Hefeweizen, on tap which is very rare to find. I can't wait to go back and try everything else on the menu. read more

Not enough stars. My wife and I love this place. It has such a cool relaxed atmosphere. We have tried most of the small plates. Cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, and beet salad are some of our favorite veggies. Truffle fries too. I like the meatballs and usually order the evening's special. Tonight it was the Spanish chorizo with grilled croutons and grapes. So good. My wife loves the muscles and clams in the white broth. My all time favorite dish is Jason's Sardines. Not just because of the name but because they are one of the most delicious sea food dishes I've ever had. Love them! Henry is great. He stocks some nice tap beers and wines. The best desert is the homemade Tiramisu. You need to try this place. You'll love it! read more

Since I live very close to this new restaurant I wanted to give it a try. It looked very charming even tho it is in a strip mall type setting. We went in and were cordially welcomed. Our young lady waiter was super nice and told us the specials and her recommendations. We had the stuffed mushroom and they were a 10+++. Just delicious. Then we got the phyllo dough stuffed with spinach and cheese. I Liked them but my companion says too much spinach in them lol. But he doesn't like vegetables so that may have biased him. I got the chicken Kabobs with veggies for my entree and he got the Marsala sauce bow tie pasta. Mine was really good but one bite of his pasta and I was jealous. It was soooo good. Chicken, mushrooms, pasta in this yummy wine sauce. No dessert as we were too full. We hope this cute little cozy bistro makes it here in Orange. Pls try it you won't be disappointed. read more

Truly enjoyed our first experience at Truffle Bistro. Went early on Sunday evening and had great service and food. We ordered mostly tappas style for the table with one entree as well. Stuffed mushrooms were a table favorite, as were the butternut squash ravioli and the caprese salad. My suggestion: DON'T FORGET THE DESSERTS!! The cheesecake rocked! and the lemoncielo (sp?) cake was pretty great as well. I'm only bummed we didn't order the canoli. We will definitely be going back and likely on a regular basis. read more

Great find in the Orange area along Tustin Ave. Wonderfully prepared tapa's at reasonable prices. Out door seating in a patio like ambience considering its a sidewalk conversion that opens to the indoor dining area. Quality of food prep is very high to match the flavor profiles that are mesmerizing. They have a wine list to match that are carefully selected for personal pairings. Our first time, so we'll definitely be back to try other tapa's and main courses. Ox tail, gambas, artichoke & salmon carpaccio were winners. Knowledgable & friendly service to boot. read more

My husband found this place on yelp and we decided to check it out cause reviews were great. We had the stuffed mushrooms, Cajun artichoke, meat & cheese platter, 3 musketeers platter, lamb chop and meatballs, and Brussel sprouts. Had a few glasses of wine and then dark Forrest cake for dessert. EVERYTHING WAS AMAZING. Our waiter was joe and he was very nice. The owner came out and talked to the tables which was cool. I can't wait to go back and try more food there! The tiramisu is made by the chef/owner; unfortunately they didn't have any but he said he makes it twice a week, but by Saturday it's sold. He said the best day to come for it is Tuesday so we'll be going back to try some of that! The place is small but cute and the atmosphere is quite relaxing. But honestly the food is just so great and we'll probably come back more and more because it was just so good. Didn't have to wait long for food even though it was only the owner cooking by himself. Excellent food and service. We had Kitana as our server and she was wonderful with suggestions and just being kind. She recommended the oxtail, and butternut squash ravioli tapas. Wow we're they great. For entree, I had the lamb shank and my wife had the chicken picatta. We met the chef Henry and enjoyed some of his delicious Tiramisu for dessert. I wasn't super impressed with Truffle Bistro, but it was decent and I'd go back to try some of the other menu items. The space is very cramped and hard to move around in, but this is because they were very busy. My group's round of appetizers were mainly great. I enjoyed all that I tried, the chorizo meatballs being my favorite. When it came time for my main course of salmon, I did feel unimpressed with it's preparation and taste. It was relatively flavorless, but the side vegetables were pretty good. In regard to drinks, they have a wide selection from many different parts of the world. read more

When we arrived we were promptly greeted by a friendly young lady named Avi. We were newbies to the Tapas concept but our delightful server Catania explained the details. While waiting we were served pita bread and tapenade - so good! I ordered the delicious Greek salad (the dressing was nice and light)and Brussels sprouts. They were delicious.
