I'm making a bold but very deserving claim that this is the best culinary experience in the area. It starts with the beautiful design of space and layout, but also carried through to carefully chosen high quality ingredients at a very reasonable price, and an excellent service experience. Can we get this in a Michelin guide for those traveling to Chautauqua or Lily Dale? What did we have? A perfectly juicy selection of lobster tail full of its own sweetness resting on top of a bed of pappardelle pasta bathing in saffron cream and sweet summer corn for pops of texture. A lumpy deep fried crab cake that crackled on the outside and then fell apart into juicy flakes upon breaking the fried shell. A sour dough bread with herbed butter that melted between the half sliced folds holding it together until fully pulling apart. Iced tea and lemonade Arnold Palmer with flavors that kept us guessing and curious about the added sweet spice profile. Definitely coming back, perhaps every single meal I can when I'm in the area. read more

Nice seasonal cocktails, impressively considered wine list. The menu has something for everyone, except maybe for anyone who wants a traditional meat-and-potatoes meal. (But still... We came on a Thursday night around 7pm in late September and we're happy to see 4+ tables filled, especially this late in the Chatauqua season. It felt warm and inviting when we walked inside. We were seated right away with menus. We weren't sure what the ordering process was so we noticed the QR code on the table so we placed our order online. We ordered a glass of the super Tuscan and I can't remember what my husband ordered. Both were nice, dry and good temp. Our Caesar salad came out first. It was crisp, fresh and we enjoyed the bacon bits. We could tell if there was anchovy in it but the menu had it listed. The filet was cooked to my medium rare request. I wish there were a small side potato or veg on the plate. It looked so bare and but I didn't really want to pay $8-10 more for a side on top of the $38. But I recognize how restaurants need to balance price, quality and quantity. My husband ordered the salmon so I stole some of his Brussels sprouts and kale. The salmon was cooked perfectly and had a lot of good flavors. The kale was very salty and our waiter said he shared that with the chef but didn't offer anything more. We finished our meal and our waiter asked if we had already closed out. He mentioned that we were probably one of the rare customers who figured out the online ordering process. We would like to give this place another try. The quality of food was very good and we liked the atmosphere. Pricing was on the higher end for the area so we'll save it for a special occasion! read more

This is a great restaurant, and especially when judged against the decidedly sparse other options in this area! I have eaten here twice, and both times really enjoyed both the food, the drinks, and the atmosphere. I got a great salmon salad and a mocktail last time, and both were excellent, with the salmon not being overcooked (something that happens a lot, even at good restaurants). The pizzas are also well done in the fire oven. Definitely make a reservation, and try this restaurant! read more

I couldn't be happier that we found this hidden gem just minutes from our cabin in Mayville. While we like to get out there to unplug, grill, and watch the fire burn we still love an upscale option nearby and this is the answer! We enjoyed an incredible brunch complete with cocktails and even a mocktail for our non drinking guest. The detail in the each dish and drink matches the ambience and design and of this locally family owned restaurant/bar and we were blown away from the moment we walked in until the moment we left. The crab cakes were for sure the star of the show but each menu item we ordered was unique and a winner in its own way. We cannot wait to go back for dinner and continue to be loyal customers. Wow what a great place.. after the season! Super service ,atmosphere and food! Some of the best if not the best in the area. I had their wood fired hamburger with fries. OUTSTANDING. This is my third time at Truffle Honey and it just keeps getting better! They are brand new so still training up the staff and working out some things but I can say 100% this is the best restaurant on the lake! The pizza is amazing because of their awesome ingredients and wood-fired oven, the burger and fries are insane and both the Salmon and Filet Mignon are top-notch!! No matter what you order, its going to be great! Its a casual atmosphere with gourmet food, the best combo! Also fun to just come in and eat and drink right at the bar. Our experience here was amazing. The heirloom tomato salad was fresh and balanced, with beautiful tomatoes. My cucumber cocktail was so yummy, and the cucumber flavor really came through. My partner and I agreed the wagyu steak was one of the best steaks we'd ever had. We also loved the mashed potatoes. We were looking forward to trying this newer restaurant in Chatauqua NY. We left disappointed. The Caesar Salad with grilled chicken is not something I would serve in my own home. The grilled chicken and croutons came to the table like they were prepared the day before. The chicken was dry and the croutons chewy.
