The Brussels sprouts appetizer was cooked perfectly and I loved the balance between the sweet and savory flavoring with the dried cranberries and goat cheese. The steakhouse flatbread was amazing as well the flavoring on the steak and then the Gorgonzola cheese and chimichurri was such a good combo I def want to get this again!! After dining at Domenico's we decided to walk around the truffle puff winery. By the way this winery used to be called Avensole... There was a very BEAUTIFUL pond with various types of BIRDS! The bird with the long neck really got my ATTENTION... The winery was very peaceful and calming. The landscape was so surreal and there were PICTURE Opportunities everywhere. I was a Member at Avensole, I was looking forward to the re opening And joined truffle pig. Tried all the wines and there only one that is acceptable, on pick day they gave me the wines I liked the worst, I tried changing the bottles paying the difference and they refuse, then I realized they put the bottles for the members that the regular people don't but because the wine is no good and reserve the good wine to sell to the public, that's their way to reward loyalty. I cancelled the membership. Service was mediocre. Food at restaurant was good but service was poor. Overall I'm very glad I cancelled. There are many other wineries in the areas with better wine, better service that deserve loyalty more. read more

The wine is excellent and a bottle of their red blend is under $40 which is awesome. Food prices are on the higher side but you get what you pay for. Service has always been great as well. This gem of a winery is in the old Avensole location - but with so many upgrades and improvements. Featuring a beautiful pond, the area outside of the tasting room is a perfect place to sit and enjoy a glass of wine. The tasting room itself is beautiful, and the staff is helpful and not at all snobby. We got some great recommendations from Coby. My husband who enjoys a sweeter wine loved the white zin which was reminiscent of starburst. I really liked the rose which had a similar flavor without the sweetness. We also enjoyed some food at the restaurant on property (Domenicos). There was live music on the patio which was truly the perfect volume - you could still have a conversation but it made for really nice ambience. Do not sleep on the truffle brussel sprouts - insanely yummy. They are thinly shaved, perfectly crisped, the right amount of salty, and topped with crumbled goat cheese and pomegranate seeds. We will come back for this dish! We also really enjoyed the truffle humus flatbread which was topped with asparagus. The limoncello martini was rimmed with sugar and was tasty (and strong, so beware). Our server was Hannah and she was excellent. I've always loved the design and layout of this winery. Avensole put it together and Renzoni improved. Being a pig and hunting truffles gives way in the bold black designs in the club room and gen pop tasting room. The lineup so far has four reds, a port, rose and a few nice whites. Something for everyone. Staff is friendly and very nice grounds. Patio seating is abundant with good cushions. Also lower patio has a couple of big screen tv's. Just a note they are not dog friendly. We celebrated our anniversary at Truffle Pig on Saturday, April 25. After reading so many positive reviews, we were expecting a high-end, memorable experience. Unfortunately, the best word to describe the evening is mixed, leaning toward disappointment. Starting with the positives. The facility is beautiful. We were seated in what they call the outdoor area, though it feels fully enclosed and comfortable. Despite a cool, rainy evening and some initial trouble getting the heaters working near us, we stayed warm and were able to enjoy the setting. Service had a rough start. After being seated, we received water from a busser but then waited 10 to 15 minutes without any acknowledgment from a server. Not even a quick "I'll be right with you." We were close to leaving when another waitress noticed and stepped in. She apologized, took over our table, and from that point on was excellent. Attentive, friendly, and professional. Because of her, service ultimately deserves high marks despite the initial lapse. The restaurant was also extremely loud. There was a large group of teenagers celebrating a birthday, a bridal party, and several lively tables that had clearly been enjoying wine for the day. While that's not entirely the restaurant's fault, it did take away from what we expected to be a more intimate anniversary dinner. Now, the food, which was the biggest disappointment. We started with the Caesar salad and Burrata. The Burrata was excellent. The Caesar salad, however, was mediocre at best, and at $18 should have been much better. For entrées, I ordered the sea bass. At $48, it was overcooked, nearly tasteless, and served in a soupy mixture that was difficult to identify. The presentation in a small, awkward bowl didn't help. It was simply not good. My wife ordered the Taleggio Pappardelle with mushrooms and added chicken. The dish lacked clarity and flavor, and the chicken was also overcooked. To their credit, they brought out a complimentary cheesecake for our anniversary, which ended up being the best tasing part of the meal. We also ordered a bottle of wine, choosing their lowest-priced blend. At many restaurants, that can be a gamble, but in this case it was excellent wine (and we are knowledgeable wine snobs.) They graciously comped the wine due to the slow start in service, which we truly appreciated and felt was handled very well. Overall, this experience fell short of expectations, especially when it came to the food. That said, there were enough positives to acknowledge; Service, once corrected, was excellent. The setting is beautiful. The wine was surprisingly good. It's possible we simply caught them on an off night in the kitchen. We may consider trying them again in the future. Final ratings: Service: 5 stars (thanks to the recovery) Ambience: 3 stars (beautiful, but very loud) Food: 1 star With everything considered, a reluctant overall rating of 4 stars -- a mix of strong positives and some significant misses. read more

Truffle Pig's (preciously Avensole) new owners have revamped the winery with a black and white themed decor, giving it a more traditional and elegant feel. Their temporary wine tasting room, The Pig Pen, is dark and cozy, with a fireplace and comfortable overstuffed leather couches. The lattice covered patio area is also comfortable with nice seating. Once their tasting room opens up The Pig Pen will be their members only area. Their Truffle Pig wine offerings are a bit limited for now, but what they do offer are quite good. Their GSM, Grenache, Nebiola, and Market red are all very good. I do look forward to having a choice of some bolder reds in the future. With co-owners Robert Renzoni and Domenic Galleano, I expect more good things are yet to come. We shall see. read more

It was my first time here, but my cousin spoke highly of the place, so we were excited to try it. We were seated on the patio, which had a great atmosphere--fire features and heating towers kept us warm on a cool Temecula night. We started with the fried burrata and wedge salads, both of which were fantastic. I ordered the beef Wellington, my go-to whenever I see it on a menu, and it absolutely delivered. The meat was perfectly cooked, the pastry was crisp, and the pâté inside tied everything together beautifully. My fiancée had the sea bass and loved how light and delicate it was. Everyone else at the table really enjoyed their meals as well. The drink selection was another highlight. They had a solid lineup of bourbons and whiskeys, including my favorite--Michter's--which paired perfectly with the beef Wellington. The rest of the group ordered the house sangria, and it was a big hit. Service from our waiter was excellent from start to finish.
