This created HPA axis damage, Glucocorticoid receptor damage and immune system damage. Today I have all the physical evidence and irreparable damage to all major organs. Breaking blood brain barrier and in my cytoplasm. Also in bone marrow. Was a worker with disability and financially independent before that day. Now unable to work for 15 months draining my father's (Vietnam vet purple heart bronze star 41 years at GM) retirement fund. If Alexandra McClug is your physician run, run, run away. HIPPA violation when revealing blood and urine screen in front of my mother. My father is the only person who has written person period! They admitted me and I received medication I could have taken at home and was not even there 24 hours before they discharged me with the same meds I took there and no improvement in how I was feeling and I had pneumonia. The managers treat the employees like they are beneath them, their training is poor and I personally would not take my dog there.

Dr. Michael Shumaker, my surgeon, and the entire operating room team were absolutely outstanding. Going into a second surgery can come with a lot of emotions, but I had complete confidence in their skill, professionalism, and teamwork. I am deeply grateful for the care and precision that went into my procedure. I also want to recognize the entire surgical staff in the room that day. While I may not know every name, I know I was in the hands of a highly coordinated and dedicated team that ensured my safety and success. Recovery was the most challenging part, especially when it came to pain control--but this is where this hospital truly showed its strength. The recovery team worked hard to get my pain under control. They did not give up on me, and that matters more than anything. Pain after surgery is real, and having a team that continues to adjust, respond, and care makes all the difference. A very special and heartfelt thank you to Mike Gemma, the anesthesiologist. What he did for me went above and beyond. He stepped in, advocated for me, and made sure my pain was taken seriously by speaking directly with the nursing staff. That kind of advocacy is rare, and it changed my entire experience. You cared for me during one of my most vulnerable moments, and you did it with dignity, compassion, and zero judgment. Thank you for staying on top of my medications and helping keep my pain controlled. Your attentiveness, responsiveness, and commitment to my comfort made a huge difference, especially during the hardest hours when staying ahead of the pain mattered most. Brooke--thank you for being part of my care and for communicating with the anesthesiologist to help improve my pain management. That effort did not go unnoticed and played a role in getting things where they needed to be. Jessica from Physical Therapy--you were an absolute hoot. You made me laugh, kept me motivated, and somehow made physical therapy feel less intimidating and not nearly as rough as it could have been. That kind of energy is a gift, and it made a real difference in my recovery. Valerie--your housekeeping and hospitality were truly exceptional. You did more than keep the room clean. You brought comfort into it. Your kindness, attention to detail, and warm presence made a huge difference in how I felt during my stay. And to every single staff member involved--from the surgical team, to recovery, to physical therapy, to housekeeping, to those working behind the scenes--thank you. I was impressed by his professionalism and his actual interest in my complaint. An absolute GREAT experience. He has had me in The Surgical Hospital at Southwoods on three separate occasions. I was in for two sets of biopsies and once for insertion of "SpaceOar" for protection during radiation. This hospital, as far as I'm concerned, has always gone above and beyond what should be required for ALL hospitals. The doctors, nurses, orderlies and every other person always goes out of their way to be certain your experience will the best that they can give you. I would recommend this to anyone for whatever ails you. Too bad I can only give 5 stars because it is wsorth so mjuch more.

This place is the most TERRIBLE hospital EVER!!!! My Mom had a major surgery and they wanted to…read moresend her home with low oxygen levels (dipping into the low to mid 80s) then they got her put on oxygen and her final day in the hospital, she was completely ignored, no one would come to her aide when she used the call button and completely ignored her all day long. They eventually turned her call button completely off no one could call for help. When she was out of surgery, she sat in recovery for over 7 hours and they wouldn't let us see her! She was the first patient in for surgery and the very last to leave at night to go upstairs. They wouldn't even let us back to tell her we were still there and just check in on her! I've never heard of a hospital doing this. They claimed she was sleeping the entire time which we found out later to not be true. When she was sent home, they timed the oxygen delivery so it was dropped off BEFORE she got home and no one would come to show her how to use it. (She's never been on oxygen at home before) We had to scramble and call around to people we knew that have used oxygen for help. Thank God we had a family friend that knew how to use it! They also don't know what a CLEAR diet means. Who gives a patient tomato soup when they're on a CLEAR diet??? The nurses are all pretty much incompetent and useless! She wasn't even given her prescription meds when she was in the hospital! I am glad I no longer live in Youngstown as I would refuse such horrible treatment from the rude, ignorant, incompetent staff at this sad excuse of a hospital! Stay away from this hospital at all costs! They're absolutely horrible and have zero bed side manners!

They took all of our information and came up with several diagnoses. She is now looking so much better than before with the help of prescriptions. She has also made friends here as well. The Bad: This place does get frustrating with the staff- attempting to call me a liar because I mentioned something another staff member said. I made things very clear giving names and times. I didn't receive an apology, there was no way to report her either. It was also very hard since I could not speak with the doctor. The social workers did the best that they could to keep me updated with their findings. Most of the nurses have also been very helpful. Others should not be there.

We were checked in, seen by the Doctor, -x-rays and out the door within an hour. Excellent. The second time was earlier tonight. My 5 year old fell and landed face first against the wall. We thought his nose was broken so my wife took him here. Again, same fast and professional service and they are great with the little ones when treating them. And no, my little guy's nose isn't broken but it sure looks like it is. This is an urgent care/ambulatory kind of place. If it something too serious for them, they would send you to a local full service hospital by ambulance if you so choose. Great alternative should you need emergency care that does not require a full service hospital. I will not go to any other urgent care place except for this one based on my two experiences. It's nice knowing you can go here minus the hours upon hours of waiting.

She then pushed a bunch of numbers on the phone and then hung up on me again. I called back and she just wanted to argue again. I even told her " Look everyone has a bad day and I'm willing to just let it go" She then started again. Then I asked to speak to her supervisor she then said I'll connect you. About 15 minutes later she got back on the phone and she said her supervisor was going to call me back. I asked her if she had my number and she said yes. When I asked her for my number she just read off a number that didn't belong to me. Very rude and TOTALLY unprofessional.
