This WAS a beautiful mall in the 1980's. Then it started to go downhill about 10 years ago. I think it is finally going to hit rock bottom soon... This mall used to be awesome back when I was in grade school. A lot of the stores have changed and the overall vibe has declined. I would still go here over the Post mall in Milford but honestly it's a mediocre place now. Avoid coming here on weekends is my best advice! read more

The good thing about this mall is that the food court is pretty new, but nothing like interesting to go see there.. they need more stores and deff more restaurants that just see mostly chainese food, like any other mall read more

Bare Minerals, Freestanding Store, Westfield, Trumbull, CT... This review is solely for the store specified, and there doesn't seem to be one for this store. I would give 3 stars for the employee trying to be helpful, but... it wasn't A-OK. It was just meh. Being in the industry, maybe I'm to critical, but I don't think it is a lot to ask for employees to be knowledgeable about the product they are selling. I entered this free standing store because I knew exactly what product I wanted to look at and ask questions about. I also wanted to see the different hues and variations of a certain foundation. I was approached by the sales associate and greeted and asked which product I was interested in. She then brought me over to the application area, and proceeded to put 3 different shades of foundation on the inside of my arm(I am super sensitive and allergic to many ingredients, and didn't want to chance a reaction on my face), WITH THE SAME BRUSH. She did not clean the brush in between the different applications of 3 very different hues. So I was left with on my arm what looked like the same colors next to each other. I felt something itchy in application site and asked about the ingredients. The girl that was helping me asked another employee who was behind the counter, staring out into the mall, if she knew about the ingredients in anything and immediately replied, "no, sorry". Really??? I have worked for multiple cosmetics brands, and companies, and product knowledge is an absolute essential in selling skincare and makeup. Not to mention it was so freaking hot in this location with all the hot lights, the air wasn't on and one girl had a sweater on. I was literally pouring sweat. I also couldn't believe that with those bright lights that I couldn't tell the difference between the 3 hues. I said, "I need to think about it, and wear it around a bit more to see if I get a reaction". The girl politely offered me a sample of the shade I was thinking of purchasing, and I accepted. I think the reaction I got was from the dirty brush or whatever she attempted to clean it with before applying it to my inner forearm. The brush was sticky and wet so I also couldn't feel the weight and texture of the foundation. I took my sample and scurried out of the store to the car where my husband was watching the game on his phone, and asked him which color looked like it matched my skin. He replied, "They all look the same, and none of them match." LOLOL This coming from a person who hates when I wear clear lip protectant and wipes his lips off after a kiss. To the management: Train your employees. At least have a ingredient manual, or product guideline for them to follow so they don't look dumbfounded when someone asks a typical question in that setting. Sorry, won't be returning. 1 because the sample has lasted me almost a month, and 2 because it was so hot in there I almost passed out. read more

This is the worse mall ever . Not even the type of mall for a last minute outfit. The only reason for ONE star is for the food.

Three and a half stars. I liked this mall for having a rest area for moms/dads and kids. Not the most organized place, but I found everything I was looking for at this mall. My primary destination was to the Bath and Body Works, but I found many other distractions getting me there. Plenty of stores to wander around at, that is if you have the time. read more

It's a nice mall, the changes are very appealing and the new food court makes the mall an easy go-to for a quick meal.

Let me start by saying I generally avoid malls. I guess they work if you're under 21, over 65 or really, really want the flu. This mall serves a diverse population and between the lack of updates, economic issues and insufficient security actually developed a pretty bad reputation by the end of the 2000s. Thanks to new management, the property has happily departed the era of indoor smoking and supposed gang activity (yes, I remember when this place still allowed smoking - yikes). Westfield not only manages but also owns the property and has spent $25 million updating the place, even going as far as acquiring two entire adjacent streets full of houses for future expansion. Today, the mall feels clean, modern and relevant with sharp looking contemporary finishes (nothing too wild) and a diverse array of businesses with wide appeal. The former "food court" is now the "dining terrace" (for a while, there was even a Hawaiian barbecue spot). This is supplemented by two full service restaurants, Ruby Tuesday and TEN Asian Bistro, as well as Panera Bread. When Macy's merged with May Brands, 3 of the 4 anchor stores at this mall became part of the same company (at the time, anyway) - Filene's got the axe and its two-level void was filled by Target. Two floors of registers, two floors of parking and an acceptable substitute for a grocery store in a pinch. It works out nicely, especially during precipitation or when it's really hot - good luck hunting for a spot in the covered area. In a world in which Starbucks can be found on every other corner, I find it rather peculiar that the only Starbucks in the mall is the one inside Target. It's a decent size and they do accept the Starbucks card, but it lacks the Starbucks "hang out" vibe. The mall is now home to H&M (two-level store), Lush (tiny space), Coach, Banana Republic, J. Crew - these would have been unheard of under the previous conditions. You'd have to visit downtown Westport for the latter three and NYC for H&M. There's even a gym (LA Fitness). Parking availability is never an issue, except for the covered parking areas. As for me, I'll stick to my usual three or four destinations and duck out in under an hour - but if you haven't been here in a while, it's worth a visit. read more

This mall has gone wayyyyy downhill over the past few years....their Gap is horrible, and they recently combined Gap with Baby Gap and Gap Kids, so there is practically no selection of clothing for adults. A lot of the stores have closed down, or been replaced with cheap, kind of sleazy looking clothes shops. I am giving it two stars because they have a Lord & Taylor and a Banana Republic. I live in Trumbull, but I usually find myself driving into White Plains NY to go to the Westchester, or to Danbury or the West Farms when I have to do some shopping. Also, be careful if you go here, I have heard of several people getting mugged in broad daylight. read more

Coming from the family that built this mall (My Grandfather got the idea to build it when he went out West and saw them there, he decided it would also work on the East coast!) I would have to say it has been a staple of life for everyone growing up in the Bridgeport area. Also all the old school players still call this mall "Korvette's" referring to an old store that used to be one of the anchors here. All in all, it is a convenient place with the usual suspects of big box stores such as Macy's, JCPenneys, Lord and Taylor and the newest addition Target. They did a recent renovation of the food court but it seems lackluster in the choices you have there. Plus it is void of a pizza place! Ever since Sabbaro went into bankruptsy there isn't a place you can get a slice! Come on now! Other than that, convenience is key when you don't want to make the trek to Milford or the even farther haul to Danbury. Is it a great mall? No, but what is a great mall? they all are kind of dying out. But it has what you need when you need to go to a mall! One more note, the cheesecake factory is going in there with a lot of rennovations to the existing properties, i have eaten at one of these places a few years back nothing memorable but truthfully i never had the cheesecake so we will see. This Westfield mall is very nice and convenient. The layout is easy to get around with plenty of parking. This mall has some of my favorite stores like Target, JC Penny, Old Navy, and Macy's. They also have a great food court with many choices as well as Ruby Tuesday, Cheesecake Factory and Panera. I prefer this mall over the Westfield mall in Milford. read more

The mall has a good selection of stores and is one of the best ones in Fairfield county, but it's best days are behind. It's always overrun with teenagers with nothing better to do, and it can sometimes be annoying. read more

The layout of the mall is very confusing you walk in circles the whole time and never know where you are. I never thought I could get lost in a circle but I sure did. Theres a few good stores but nothing special and their food court mostly offers Chinese food. The crowd that goes there are usually young knuckleheads with saggy pants. Go to the Danbury mall they offer more parking and more shopping options. read more

I've been here once a month with my boyfriend for the past two years. So I've grown to learn my way around and what is good. Good places to stop at -Uniqulo (Just opened clothing store. Pricey Japanese company. Try the heat tech and the foldable coats! Worth the price!) -Lush If you are into that stuff. I make my own soap and stuff so I have no need. Also, not everything in that store is all natural. Trust me. Anyone that says otherwise is full of it. -Brookstone A hipster and tech nerds dream! Also great for that quality product snob! -Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf What an amazing coffee shop! In the midst of Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts this place is refreshing! Try the frozen blended Black Forest drink! The cherry keeps the chocolate and coffee flavones from weighing you down! -Michaels Jewelers They sell Pandora! Enough said! -Yankee Candle They always are stocked with great stuff and the staff is super friendly and knowledgable! -Ten Asian Bistro Delicious Chinese and Japanese food! This is the mall I grew up near, and while it was so-so when I was younger (I do still remember the news talking about young kids going through gang initiations on the bottom floor in the late 80s), it got pretty good mid-90s but has since gone downhill. A lot of stores left and things weren't really updated much. However, recently (with the addition of Target and some new eateries) things have started to improve and I've read articles about their planned remodeling. Apparently it is being converted to a high-end mall, which frankly would do it some good. There are so many other malls around but most of the higher end stores are down in Westport and heading toward NYC so this will at least make it stand out. The new decor they are planning looks pretty nice too, so here's to the future of the Trumbull Mall. As of now, I'll keep heading to Milford when I do need a mall that's in decent shape (recent roof issues not withstanding). Also if you want to eat in the food court, be wary of the garbage smells. I wanted to try their new restaurant twice so far and both times the garbage cans in the middle of the hall between that place and another smelled so bad we couldn't even walk by. read more

I have to give thumbs up for the security company in the mall and people overall for the following instances: 1. I was shopping with my 22-month son. He was an angel even though he was tired and maybe hungry. We passed a couple who brought their maybe 3- month or so baby with a huge Winnie the Pooh ballon. My son couldn't help himself stare/ point at the balloon and say "balloon". Finally, I was shopping at the Gymboree and the dad just gave my son the balloon. " I noticed he kept looking at it. Make sure you have to hold it otherwise it will go up" He kept addressing the importance of not to let it go. Imagine how happy my son was holding it. We walked to Gap the next minute or so and my son dropped his drink on the floor. While I was cleaning it up, he let go of the ballon and it floated up. I asked the Gap staff for assistance but unfortunately there was nothing in the store could be helpful. My son was really sad and anxious. His eyes were full of tears and I felt so guilty for not tying it to my or his hands, and mostly losing a ballon from kind parents. Finally the staff of the stand in the hall suggested contacting the security and one of them was just walking by. It's closing time and most of the stored has closed the gate. The security staff called for help and two other came with some car that still not tall enough. One of them had to jump to reach the balloon. They really made my son's day and of course my day too. 2. It's 12/22/2013 a Sunday. Our family made last a trip for last minute quick shopping and returns. The next day, I couldn't find my wallet. I was hoping that I just misplaced it and checked whether there is any suspicious activities in any credit cards for the next few days. A week later, no suspicious activity and no sight of my wallet. I decided to go to the lost and found at several stores. None of the stores has it so I hit the mall security. After asking the date of loss, my name since my id is in the wallet and the brand of my wallet, the staff searched on the computer and found the record. I love how they logs it in a computer instead of putting the item in huge bins. Anyway, thanks to the person who turned it in to the security and the way the security organize it, I got my wallet back!! I honestly don't remember every item in the wallet or whether there were any cash but I am still thankful!! So overall, I like people shopping and working at this mall. Coming from The Land of Malls (NJ), the Trumbull Mall is my local mall for me at college and it has a decent selection of stores along with all of the essentials I need. They have a large two-floor H&M and a new Uniqlo that's small but is great to have. They also have Gap and Banana Republic, both favorites of mine. Only problem is that the J. Crew is women's only, which means my only options in the area are Westport and Stamford. I also really like that a Jamba Juice opened recently. It is also super convenient to have a Target attached to a mall. I always thought a Target in a mall was weird, but since I visited it here, I've loved the idea. I've also noticed that recently the really nice food court has become increasingly vacant. Sbarro, the salad place, and a couple others are covered up by white walls and there are only a handful of options now. However, there are great things to come with the arrival of The Cheesecake Factory this fall. As for improvements, they could use an Apple (so I don't have to go ALL the way to Stamford to get my MacBook fixed) and a Cotton On. Overall, a great mall for what I need for college life. Oh, and one more thing to mention, the layout is strange. read more

I went to this store yesterday and was treated with the utmost disrespect. I called earlier in the day to ask if a pair of boots I found was at the location and was informed that it was. When I went to the store they had the wrong shoe on hold even though I read the item number to the associate when I called. Needless to say. I browsed to see if I could find another pair and was not greeted by anyone. Finally someone walked over and spoke to me with such distaste. I inquired about a pair of shoe and he went in the back and produced what I was asking for. Once he gave me the shoe he walked away...that was it. I was not helped anymore. I was so disappointed that I left the store. I went to Macy's and bought a pair of coach boots and then the Coach store and bought a pocketbook. I love The Michael Kors line but was not impressed with their service! read more
