He walked us through the process, the benefits of solar and what set up makes most sense for us. He also was able to get us great pricing which was almost 10% lower than other estimates. Paperwork and payment was a breeze! Once the permit was approved (took about 5 weeks after signing the agreement), they came and installed the panels in a few days which was impressive (probably lucked out with availability). The install crew (was literally an army! about 8-9 guys) came promptly at 7:45AM (15 minutes early which was great) and was finished by 1PM. The head of the crew walked me through the process and closed out great showing me the app and next steps. Clean up was also fantastic as nothing was left behind. Currently we are waiting for the inspection so we can start banking the unused solar for future use. But still we are generating over 45 kWh daily (on a sunny day) and our average usage is about 30 (we have 2 EV's) so we are about 150% efficiency which is great. Though we can not bank yet, we are still utilizing solar power so our electric bill for the past week will be minimal. All in all, SUNation Energy is extremely professional, very knowledgeable and customer service seems to be a top priority to them. I received my first, almost zero electric bill, and have banked enough kwh to keep us at zero cost for a long while. My only problem is that it's difficult not to follow the reporting software on a day-to-day basis. It's a habit I'll have to try to get over. I interviewed 4 solar companies before choosing Sunation. Working with Sunation proved it to be the right company and a pleasant experience. Their on-line programming seemed to be perfect and all the legal stuff was perfectly clear. If I needed to speak with someone, they were always there. The phone is always answered by someone who knows the answer or knows who knows. And since we're in for the long haul, it's good to know that the service line is always responsive. Approvals from the City and from ConEd seemed to be right on time just as they advised. Their master electrician served as our planning consultant for the physical installation and he made sure to seek my input at each step. When the time came for the installation the Sunation crew was amazingly efficient and the crew chief explained everything. The job was done earlier than was promised and with a thorough clean-up. Horizon managed to get 4 more panels than any other company was able to and came in around 15k less overall. Other companies tried to have their contractors come in with nonsense and costs that my regular tradesman scoffed at. Solar is for sure a racket and there are plenty of devious companies out there, horizon is not one of them. My bill has been reduced to service charges and taxes. I've got plenty of banked energy. The app is a nice feature also to monitor energy spikes and overall how you are doing.

A few weeks into employment they tell me I have to fill out some forms for now home depot to do their background check. Well, here I am, unemployed because home depot stated I was not eligible for their coverage. So more or less, make sure, if you try to work for trinity, don't have even a speeding ticket on your record because home depot is so strict with their background checks. And don't believe any of the trinity reps when they tell you you're good. Oh, and I also think because I'm coming up on getting benefits they don't want to pay. Thumbs DOWN.

While the sales team was professional and assured me they had extensive experience with the strict solar regulations in my area, there was a significant gap between those assurances and the actual permitting process. I was initially told I would only be responsible for a specific village application fee (should the village deny the proposal). Unfortunately it was denied, I was charged $2,500 for various fees including site surveys, administrative costs, and architectural drawings. The project unfortunately did not work out, and the most frustrating part was the permitting and billing hurdle. I had to spend a considerable amount of time negotiating with their customer service team to lower those initial fees, eventually settling on a $1,000 charge for the work performed. They seem like a decent local company, but their internal processes--especially within the permitting department--need better alignment with the promises made by sales. My advice to others is to double-check every detail in your contract before moving forward.

I contracted with LI Power Solutions for a solar system on my home. Charles, salesman, was very…read morenice and helpful. We unexpectedly decided to sell our home, and cancelled the solar. LIPS had already obtained permits for project. When I notified Charles, he suggested that perhaps I leave remainder of my first payment (deposit) with them and we could try to spec out a system on the home we moved to. We are doing reno's to the home we moved to and decided not to move forward with solar. I let Charles know and asked if we could get balance of our deposit back (of course net of any expenses LIPS had incurred). Charles said he would see what he could do and ultimately passed the ball to the owner Joe, saying he was "just a salesman" and could not do anything else. I left messages/emails for Joe, but he didn't respond to a single message. If he responded and said no that my agreement didn't provide for any return of monies, I would have understood. (maybe not agreed but understood). But to ignore messages/emails from a client, does not seem right.
