I love coming here for a weekend lunch after a walk at my favorite Park in Danville. My husband always orders his favorite combination shawarma plate. It's a huge plate of food and he always brings home half. I tried their vegetable plate today for the first time. I thought the flavoring of the different dips were just okay. The eggplant dip was too sour. In order to make everything work, I highly suggest you save the red sweet pepper dip and mix it with everything else. I enjoyed the two falafels because they were hot, very light and crispy. The dolmas were sour. Overall, I felt like I was eating a lot of baby food. It's difficult to take home dip so I just ate it all which is a lot of food. I enjoyed the chickpea salad. It was one of the three items that was not a dip. The dips went well with their pita. When you order two entrees, you get a good amount of pita. They always serve complimentary black tea with your meals which is comforting to have. 3.5 stars reluctantly rounded down to 3 stars. Maybe a couple of "off" nights My "go-to" weeknight place if I'm too lazy to cook but want a healthier meal than fast food. Favorite item on the menu is the chicken burger. Also like the skinny fries included as a side. The fries stay crisp even when eaten at home at room temp. Occasionally, indulge in the yummy chocolate mousse. Really rich and decadent. But lately the portion has gotten smaller. Don't mind too too much because it is that good. But once, got a cup of mousse that wasn't creamy at all but was 1 solid mass. When scooped, it crumbled. Cream could have been overwhipped. The end result, they made chocolate butter not mousse. It also had a slight "refrigerator" flavor like it was stored uncovered and it absorbed flavors from other food in the fridge or freezer. Only reason I didn't complain was I didn't want to drive back to the restaurant. But management should be careful and practice higher quality control. Issues like these will erode the good will of loyal customers if they persist. The other thing the restaurant has messed up is when I ordered the Sultan salad. This particular salad doesn't typically have lettuce. It has tomatoes, cucumbers, chickpeas, feta, and avocado. Once, staff gave me a lettuce salad instead. This has happened only once, again when I did takeout. Partially my bad since I should check the bag before leaving. Could also be a language barrier. That particular night, I was trying to be extra healthy and making special requests. The cashier must have been so confused and didn't know how to key my changes into the register. Next time, instead of trying to order a lettuce or protein wrap, I'll get the chicken burger as is and discard the bun at home. Or won't order smaller portions of different salads to try to make a "sampler" salad plate. S'OK tho, as long as it is some sort of salad, I can truthfully tell my doc I'm eating healthy. Went for lunch with friends on a weekday. I tried the veggie platter which is a bunch of dips, falafel, dolma and pita bread. I really really enjoyed this dish. We ordered the veggie plate, combo, shish kebab plate, and a kids lamb meal. As we sat down with our number for the food, we were provided hot tea for free. Which I love and it was super delicious. I would drink that tea all day if I could. My son loved his meal because it had his favorite things, meat, rice, and french fries. My boyfriend ate his entire plate so quickly that I blinked, and all the food was gone and his belly. I just really like veggie plates. I tried their plate menu that comes with lamb+beef patties, salad, hummus, seasoned rice with pita bread. I love their complimentary tea in a traditional cup while waiting for our foods. The kebab has a really nice charred flavor that surprised me at the first bite. The salad and hummus tasted really fresh and I like that it wasn't too garlicky. We visit the Sultan Kebab location in Pleasanton pretty regularly for team lunches, so I was excited that there's a location in Danville. We ordered a couple of wraps through Door Dash. There's big chunks of tender, juicy chicken. It was so good. The only issue I had was the wrap fell apart, and I had to eat mine like a salad. The wrap was kinda soggy too. It could be attributed to our dasher taking a really long time, and the wrap could have started wilting. Besides wraps, they also have burgers, salads, plates, and lots of dessert options. read more

2nd time here. Had the chicken kebab the 1st time. Super fresh ans tasty. Thought the kebab needed more spice to it. Tried the chicken shawarma today. Delicious! The sauce was yummy and tasty. Now, you absolutely need to save room for dessert as this was the star of the show for me. Dubai chocolate, yes! It was nicely balanced and not overly sweet. The texture was crispy and I couldn't stop eating it. Once you break it apart, you have to finish it. I couldn't decided on the cakes as there were so many to choose from. Settled on the 3 layer chocolate cake. It's hard to find a solid chocolate cake around town without it being too fudgy or too sweet. This 3 layer cake was absolutely phenomenal. This cake will be my go-to cake where I would only have to drive 5 minutes (vs a few hours to Monterey). The flavors. The proportion of cake and filling. The piroutte chocolate swirl. The dollop of chocolate. The white and milk/ dark chocolate swirl shavings. It hit all the marks for here. I so wanted another dessert but that would be gluttony in one meal. Our Manager took us out to lunch to her favorite Mediterranean spot and Sultan Kebab & Falafel surely did not disappoint! Located off a busy shopping center on Camino Ramon, in between Camino Tassajara and Center Ct, this place has a lot of offerings, prices are very reasonable. As we walked in, I was amazed with the display of various Turkish Delights that were shipped from Turkey. Of course, they had the popular Dubai Chocolate which they made in-house. I ordered the Roasted Beets Salad and shared a combo plate which came with 4 kebabs; we got 2 of beef and chicken kebabs with my colleagues. We also ordered a side of french fries. As we sat down, we were given Hot Tea that was delicious! A few minutes later our food came and the servings are good for 2 people. The food, hands down was one of the best I have had! The Roaster Beets Salad was colorful and complimented the chicken and beef kebabs that were so tasty and tender. The side of pilaf rice was savory, smooth like it had butter. Pita bread was warm and hummus was delicious. The french fries were just how I like it with less salt. I was so intrigued with the Turkish Delights, especially with the one with pistachios, that I got a few to try and it was delicious. I also got to try their Baklava and it was soft & chewy. These desserts were not too sweet at all! Of course, we couldn't leave without trying their Dubai Chocolate. The owner suggested a menu and I made a small modification, the menu was excellent for my party and the price was great too. The delivery was perfect and right on time, delivered by a polite young man. And the food!!! My guests loved the food. Half of the guests were Turkish and half were not. They all liked it. This new addition to east Danville serves up Mediterranean/Turkish cuisine but is under separate ownership than the Pleasanton and west Danville "Sultans", and takes the space previously occupied by In The Mix. As you walk in note the decorative wood detailing around the cases, the olive tree to the right of the door, and the murals made into wall paper throughout. Pay particular attention to the icon of Sultan who appears to be winking at the customers. Service - There are always several workers taking orders, prepping desserts, or serving delicious complimentary tea in tulip shaped tea glasses. Aldana Plate - Lamb and beef combo ground and grilled medium rare with nice blend of Turkish seasonings. The rice was perfectly done and a side med salad and hummus finished the plate. Wraps - Key to these are that they are huge and filled with meat and fresh vegetables. Makes for two meals for most. Rice Bowls - A unique addition and different from the plates in that you get chickpeas rather than hummus. Desserts - Too numerous and colorful to ignore so need to try as many as you can. Chocolate Baklava - Rich and chocolaty with soaked and crispy phyllo. Kunefe - Our table's favorite is a traditional Middle Eastern dessert, made with spun pastry called kataifi, soaked in a sweet, sugar-based syrup called attar, and layered with cheese. When warmed you'll enjoy the crispy exterior and savory middle. Sheker Pare - A donut like dough fried and soaked in syrup. Reminiscent of a a version of gulab jamem but a bit heavier dough. Perfect with tea but because of the sweetness only in measured amounts. Overall - A great addition to Danville's eateries and a regular stop on my list. read more

I honestly thought the portion could be bigger especially given the price (about $18), but the food was generally tasty. I liked the salad with pickled red onions which added some tang and freshness to it. I also enjoyed the hummus; not to mention their pita bread was also super good - a little chewy, just the way I like my pita bread. However, the rice felt overcooked to me and it was just plain rice, as opposed to the Mediterranean-style almond rice pilaf, so I was a little disappointed. The meat was good but could be elevated more if it was cooked more/a bit more charred. Service: Decent. I didn't feel like staff were friendly, but their service was quick and efficient, which I liked. Ambiance: the restaurant looked clean and tidy.
