Pita bread
Cynthia S.

Went for lunch with friends on a weekday. I tried the veggie platter which is a bunch of dips, falafel, dolma and pita bread. I really really enjoyed this dish. I wish they would give more pita bread for all the dips but I'll know for the future to order more. All the dips are very tasty. My favorites are the hummus and tzatziki. The dolmas are a little too sour for me and the falafel a bit dry. But when eaten with the dips they are great.

Finally tried this location! We came for dessert and tea. Everyone was very friendly, the restaurant was really clean, love the ambience! We ordered two baklava slices with ice cream and tea. The baklava was absolutely delicious, warm and perfect! We will definitely be coming back for dinner next time! So good!

We came here after a really bad experience in Dublin. This restaurant is extremely clean & quality food. A lot of good options. Can't wait to come back for kebabs.!

this is from our second visit to Sultan kebab and falafel. There wasn't too long of a wait in line for us to place our order which is great. We ordered the veggie plate, combo, shish kebab plate, and a kids lamb meal. As we sat down with our number for the food, we were provided hot tea for free. Which I love and it was super delicious. I would drink that tea all day if I could. My son loved his meal because it had his favorite things, meat, rice, and french fries. My boyfriend ate his entire plate so quickly that I blinked, and all the food was gone and his belly. I just really like veggie plates. The restaurant is clean and the staff is really nice and always a plus is that parking outside? Is free and ample!

The photos looked very appetizing so we decided to try this place at our neighborhood. The place was very clean and modern with welcoming ambiance. I tried their plate menu that comes with lamb+beef patties, salad, hummus, seasoned rice with pita bread. I love their complimentary tea in a traditional cup while waiting for our foods. The kebab has a really nice charred flavor that surprised me at the first bite. The salad and hummus tasted really fresh and I like that it wasn't too garlicky. Everything tasted delicious but it was a tad salty to my taste since only the pita bread could cleanse my palate. Finally got to try Dubai chocolate and the texture was fantastic and fun.

We visit the Sultan Kebab location in Pleasanton pretty regularly for team lunches, so I was excited that there's a location in Danville. We ordered a couple of wraps through Door Dash. There's big chunks of tender, juicy chicken. It was so good. The only issue I had was the wrap fell apart, and I had to eat mine like a salad. The wrap was kinda soggy too. It could be attributed to our dasher taking a really long time, and the wrap could have started wilting. Besides wraps, they also have burgers, salads, plates, and lots of dessert options.

3 layer chocolate cake. Yes! Get it...even if you are full

2nd time here. Had the chicken kebab the 1st time. Super fresh ans tasty. Thought the kebab needed more spice to it. Tried the chicken shawarma today. Delicious! The sauce was yummy and tasty. Side salad had pickled onions (or was it cabbage?) so refreshing on a hot day. Love that they offer hot tea with your meal. Now, you absolutely need to save room for dessert as this was the star of the show for me. Dubai chocolate, yes! It was nicely balanced and not overly sweet. The texture was crispy and I couldn't stop eating it. Once you break it apart, you have to finish it. I couldn't decided on the cakes as there were so many to choose from. Settled on the 3 layer chocolate cake. It's hard to find a solid chocolate cake around town without it being too fudgy or too sweet. This 3 layer cake was absolutely phenomenal. This cake will be my go-to cake where I would only have to drive 5 minutes (vs a few hours to Monterey). The flavors. The proportion of cake and filling. The piroutte chocolate swirl. The dollop of chocolate. The white and milk/ dark chocolate swirl shavings. It hit all the marks for here. I so wanted another dessert but that would be gluttony in one meal. I'll save it for my next visit. The place is clean and organized. Will definitely be back soon to try their other kebabs like beef. BTW- They also offer burgers, shrimp kebabs, and salmon kebabs too!

Checking out this popular Mediterranean spot in Danville!
May D.

Our Manager took us out to lunch to her favorite Mediterranean spot and Sultan Kebab & Falafel surely did not disappoint! Located off a busy shopping center on Camino Ramon, in between Camino Tassajara and Center Ct, this place has a lot of offerings, prices are very reasonable. As we walked in, I was amazed with the display of various Turkish Delights that were shipped from Turkey. Of course, they had the popular Dubai Chocolate which they made in-house. I ordered the Roasted Beets Salad and shared a combo plate which came with 4 kebabs; we got 2 of beef and chicken kebabs with my colleagues. We also ordered a side of french fries. As we sat down, we were given Hot Tea that was delicious! A few minutes later our food came and the servings are good for 2 people. The food, hands down was one of the best I have had! The Roaster Beets Salad was colorful and complimented the chicken and beef kebabs that were so tasty and tender. The side of pilaf rice was savory, smooth like it had butter. Pita bread was warm and hummus was delicious. The french fries were just how I like it with less salt. I was so intrigued with the Turkish Delights, especially with the one with pistachios, that I got a few to try and it was delicious. I also got to try their Baklava and it was soft & chewy. These desserts were not too sweet at all! Of course, we couldn't leave without trying their Dubai Chocolate. It was so good, I forgot to take a picture. :) Very clean, welcoming and inviting place, the staff (Ali, Sahin, and the owner, Ibrahim) are very hospitable! This place is so good that I did not see an empty table while we were there. Highly recommend if ever near the Black Hawk area! I will definitely come back here with family & friends.

We usually go to the one at Pleasanton but this was better! The portion was not as big as the other stores but the food was tasty and fresh. They gave free tea which we love! Will be back for sure.

Came here after a friend recommended it. The chicken shawarma wrap was delicious. The feta fries were also good. Service was quick and everyone working was friendly. The restaurant was quiet with only two tables of people in there at the time. I sat down to wait for my food and the employe brought me a cup of Turkish Tea while I waited. We will be back!

Chicken kebab with Beet Salad + lamb kebab plate

Hands down the best kebab and falafel diner in the Tri-valley. We have been eating here on the regular since the restaurant opened. Food quality been consistently fresh and delicious. We had done catering 3x in the past year and everything def a crowd pleaser. Our usual orders are lamb kebab, Adana kebab, falafel, beet salad, Muhammara dipping sauce. Everything else we have tried were good as well. Personally, I enjoy the food better dining-in (extra fresh and delicious) but we do takeout frequently. Food: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere: 5/5 Recommended dishes Adana Kebab, lamb Kebab, Lentil Soup, Chicken Adana Kabab

Combo Shish Kebab

Yummy yummy! Generous portions and if you dine in you get complimentary hot black tea. The combo chicken & beef shish kabobs were cooked well not dry and the rice was super flavorful. The baklava sampler also was delicious and went well with the tea. Will definitely be back!

I appreciate they have a kiddo menu and also that they offer Haloumi Cheese as an option for their wraps/plates/bowls/sides. I ordered a Grilled Haloumi Cheese Bowl that was absolutely delicious. It came with a choice of arugula salad, tumeric rice, or 1/2 and 1/2. I chose the 1/2 and 1/2 ~ the bowl was accompanied also with fried eggplant, cucumbers, hummus, tahini sauce, and pomegranate molasses. My husband ordered a steak shawarma plate ~ the steak was cut perfectly for our kiddo to enjoy too! We also did a cold mezze side of hummus with pita. There is interior/exterior seating. Order at the register, food is delivered to you. The staff was incredibly accommodating on a busy weekend afternoon, and offered extra napkins/silverware/and ask for the hot sauce! Writing this, I can't believe we didn't try the falafel! But that leaves room for next time. Street parking can be found in front of restaurant and there is a lot in back of restaurant too. I would recommend patience when finding parking on Hartz Ave :) The food was very fresh, hearty portions, came hot and in great timing, fair pricing, and a nice array of meat/veg options. Intrigued to also check out their Oakland location too.

Updates review after 8 years (!)…read more Danville International Market continues to offer some of the best take-out kabob rice plates. We used to come here frequently before the pandemic, but for some reason stopped coming on the years since. I yearned to come back since our 4yo loves Persian-style rice and the kabobs at Santorini nearby are inconsistent - sometimes juicy and sometimes dry. With Yelp's Grubhub app, you can order for pickup and customize. Its amazing you can choose thigh or breast for chicken. Definitely get the thigh for a juicier chicken! They even let you customize the rice preparation: * The basic saffron rice is the classic white basmati rice with some saffron to give it some yellow color. This is my son's favorite and he can probably devour an entire plate. * Jewel-style adds candied shredded carrots, orange zest and pistachios for added crunch and sweetness. *Zareshk-style used barberries to add some tartness to balance out the sweet, and is another one of our favorites. Definitely will use their Grubhub ordering system going forward. Besides the awesome kabob plate, they also offer several Persian stews and desserts.

Crazy ambitious menu with pizza, burgers, wings, kabobs, wraps and many Mid East favs like falafels, dolmas, gyro and babaghanoush. I only tried a couple of items, so I do need to try a few more things eventually. Order at the counter and food will get brought out. Seems like a place popular for take-out/deliveries. On a casual lunch I was impressed by the diversity in the place, as it is downtown Hayward. Young, old and cultural garb from several cultures spotted. Service at the register was friendly, dude gave off ownership vibes. Falafel Wrap ($11/4*) Very fresh and satsifying wrap. Big, soft and puffy pita bread is filled to the brim with fresh salad-like veggies. Chopped lettuce, tomato, onions and a couple of pickled items. Stuffed also with a decent amount of fat disk of falafel and a good dousing of tahini sauce. I loved the bites for the most part as I was full without feeling weighed down for the lunch hours. The falafels had good flavor but just didn't seem as crisp as I usually prefer, didn't seem fresh out of the fryer, which the places that are known for this definitely do. I especially liked the bites more when a pickled veggie entered the bite, so I should have ordered extra...next time. Beef Kabobs ($25/4*) Got this for take-out and it was still good hours later after a reheat. Beef is in small cubes and cooked pretty well done. A bit dry but at least it was flavorful. Definitely taste more Afghan in spicing/marinade, pretty bold with lots of garlic and herbs. De Afghanan out here in the east bay is the gold standard for these types of kabobs and those are cut into bigger chunks and are juicier by a lot. Kabob plates comes with a good amount of seasoned basmati rice, a pita bread, a small green salad and a small scoop of hummus. Even tho $25 seems a bit pricey, there is enough food to justify the price. I was able to make 1.5 meals out of it with a good dinner and a small work lunch. I actually want to try a pizza here and definitely a lamb kabob. I hang out in this downtown area often, so great having another casual option in my back pocket. Yeah Buddy!!
