Great Ambiance. Good Drinks. Food can definitely improve. I love the speakeasy vibe and the only way you can get in is by learning a fun fact about the continent of Africa! Every guest has to do it... not just one person of your party! Hostess and servers were all nice and remained attentive despite how busy they were. Drinks- i tried the hibsiscus old fashioned. I like the nice hint of hibiscus and didn't think it overpowered the traditional drink Food. We had the jollof rice, beef suya, and fried plaintain. Jollof rice was so flavorless that I had to beg for salt... the salt didn't help. It tasted nothing like Jollof rice but like plain white rice mixed with watered down tomato sauce. The beef suya was only decent because of the pepper sauce and made it manageable. The fried plantains were okay. I'm not sure if the chef is from the diaspora or what but definitely need to revisit the recipes and try again. Other than the food... good place to the drinks and vibes.

Had such an amazing experience at Trybal with my friends visiting from out of town for my birthday celebration! The atmosphere was top notch, something like my friend from NYC would get to experience. The music was phenomenal. The food was incredible. Kadar the bar manager was a whole vibe and made my birthday celebration so special! Thank you so much Trybal for creating such a unique and important space in Denver!

Let's talk about vibes ! The decor inside this place is amazing ! Don't walk too fast because you might miss it. Their happy hour is great with a great selection of cocktails & crafted drinks. The food was OK. The spices really get to you so your eyes might start burning . That is my only complaint about this place . Overall, it's super cute, cozy, and Afrocentric . I would definitely revisit this place only if I sat outside .

The motherland plate, with both chicken and beef suya. Yum.

The food was amazing, a super simple menu packed with flavor, it's not a speakeasy in the traditional sense but it is nice restaurant. The only reason I couldn't give it 5 stars is because they didn't anticipate the popularity of their food...they ran out lol. So get there early if you want to enjoy the some of the best food I've had in a long time.

I came from Houston with Trybal in the MUST DO category of the trip. I really wanted to love this space and still encourage people to go since the big kinks may be growing pains. I hope the owners take this as a learning curve and make changes so they can survive. #1 I've been to many Speakeasy's and this just misses the beat. There were people standing around like it was more of a club or lounge, I could see outdoors so there was a lack of the dark and moody vibe that comes with Speakeasy's . Maybe a proper reservation system will help eliminate this. #2...the drink was horrible. I ordered an Espresso Martini and it came thick and only covered 1/4 of the glass. I asked where's the rest of my drink and the server said with a little bit of an attitude "that is the way it comes". The flavor was thick & chocolate. Very disappointing. The positives - that same server made a different drink that was whiskey based and asked if I wanted it. I considered but since I was on Vodka I didn't want to switch. It was nice that whether that drink was accidental or not, I liked that he circled back and tried to make it right. #2 the space and decor was done in nice taste #3 the music was also great and the location is good in the event you wanted to hop around.

This is such a beautiful space ! The people here are incredible. Ryan and I went here with our friends Raina and Khalil and we sat in a comfy corner with a cushiony couch and pillows. We got delicious and beautiful cocktails while the dj'd played great music. They do a lot of other live music and events here too. It was friendly and welcoming and beautiful artwork throughout the place. Trybal Speakeasy uses a Knowledge Based Entry system based on African Culture. Learn a short fact about African Culture and answer the related question successfully to receive your entry pass. Then get your pass scanned at Trybal Door for entry. Highly recommend !

The space, the food, the service, the portions, the drinks were all 5 stars. Super cute vibes and very bespoke yet friendly and welcoming. GF had the chicken I had the beef, both were phenomenal! Food prep & presentation were top notch. Excited to visit again and enjoy some live jams!

Ebonee was our waitress, she was super cute with a great attitude! She payed attention to EVERYTHING and was extremely on point. It is very humid inside but otherwise amazing vibes. Although, it is not a speakeasy. It's very open about the fact that it's a bar. From the outside it looks like a bar, step inside and it's a bar. Absurdly small portion for the $9 potatoes. Were not crispy either. However the plantains were excellent and if I were to go again I would 100% get those.. Soursop Milk- Have never had soursop before. I'm not the biggest fan of soursop but I can tell that it's a very well made cocktail. Guava Glow with Vodka- Refreshing and nice! You can really taste the passion fruit Overall, I rate it a 4/5.

Bedlam was recommended to us for late night drinks by staff working in one of the restaurants at our hotel. During our short stay in Denver, we went to Bedlam twice. The first time was around 11:30 on a Thursday night. We had a few cocktails along with a cheese and charcuterie plate. The second time was around 12:30 on a Saturday night when we came in for a night cap. The first time we came in, it wasn't too busy, and we were encouraged to sit wherever we wanted. The bar was full so we chose a small table. Our server gave us menus, though specials were written on a chalkboard above the bar. We each tired a couple of cocktails and had a shot called the Master Shot. We also chose the make-your-own charcuterie board. Our favorite drink was the Woo Girl, which allowed us to choose our spirit of choice. I chose gin and my friend chose tequila. When we returned a couple of nights later, we knew already we were going to order the Woo Girl cocktail. It was packed on a Saturday night, but there was a small table in back where they seated us. This bar is more for spending time with the friends you come with, rather than mingling, as staff seats you at a table. It doesn't seem like they offer standing room or just squeezing in, though maybe we just didn't experience that. That said, all in all, I really enjoyed Bedlam and recommend it to anyone going to Denver.

My friends and I tried a number of the signature cocktails and had a few hot toddys that were super good. I'm personally a big gin and soda fan and loved ther housemade tonic that was in their classic G&T. Did not try any of the food but the dawgs were definitely would be tempting if I was hungry. Loved the decor and the plants all up in the space. The space is a bit more dimly lit and I think of a reasonable volume for a date. Would love to come back and spend some more time here.

That's when I came across Dearly Departed and I'm so glad I did. We arrived right when they opened at 5pm and were able to walk in and be seated immediately. The speakeasy is tucked into the underground portion of the restaurant, which adds to the charm. The space is beautifully decorated, moody, intimate, and effortlessly upscale. It truly sets the tone the moment you walk down. We ordered two spritzes and a charcuterie board, and both exceeded expectations. The drinks were refreshing, perfectly balanced, and felt elevated without being overcomplicated. But the real star was the charcuterie board. For $20, it was an incredible value, stacked with a variety of meats, cheeses, fresh veggies, nuts, and peppers. The freshly grilled bread was a standout touch, and the portions were more than generous. Every bite felt thoughtfully curated, and there was something new and delicious in every corner of the board. Between the ambiance, the quality of the drinks, and the impressive food, Dearly Departed delivered an experience that felt both cozy and refined. I'd absolutely recommend checking it out for the atmosphere alone. I'm already looking forward to going back and trying more from their menu.

Cozy spot for some classy bites and cocktails. I think I probably got off on the wrong foot when I asked for sparkling water instead of flat and found out it was $7 per personal mini bottle (and they don't have club soda). My first time encountering that in Denver in the last 14 years... The cocktail concept is cool: pick a classic, slightly updated, or super creative version from 5 categories (martini, old fashioned, sour, spritz, highball). The spicy mango sour (with mezcal) was awesome -- although I expected egg white on a sour. The martinis were ok... a bit of a let-down in today's collection of Denver martinis at other local spots (think anchovy, sour cream and onion, holy trinity, and old bay). The food was also hit or miss. We loved the cauliflower/potato Bravas with the slightly spicy sauce, as well as the croquettes and their sauce. The tuna crudo was super bland, which is disappointing for $19.

I had the eggs Benedict with duck, which was savory and tender- would get again, even if it was a little small for a $22 meal. I also got a mimosa and a raspberry beret- the beret was delicious and served with the coolest presentation- they used dry ice to create smoke! The decor is very maximalist mid century- love it! Great for a date or if you are impressing someone. Don't let the location scare you off- everything around it looks closed but once you get inside it's absolutely beautiful. I can't end this review without gushing about the staff. I had a weird fainting episode and scared the crap out of my friend- our server and the rest of the staff were on it, so sweet and helpful. They got me a cold towel and an ice bucket so that I could recover. I was so impressed by how they handled everything! Ultimately, I would come back just for the service, but the food and drinks were excellent as well. Definitely worth returning for!

We also ordered appetizers of the burrata and the sweet potato croquette. Burrata is always fantastic! The croquettes were good. They were doing Star Wars themed drinks for May the 4th so Star Wars was playing in a screen (that you could barely see due to the sun). They both got the red velvet espresso martini topped with whipped coffee. It was cute but very sugary. Service was fantastic! The staff was so nice!! I had the aqua profunda (cognac, St. George basil eau di vie, lillet rose, strawberry, lime, and absinthe). I also had the eight limb daiquiri (rum, Canada aguardiente, Thai tea cordial, lime leaf, and Maraschino). The Blood Oath (mezcal, Vecchio del capo, Calabrian chili amaro, St. Germain Elderflower, lavender, honey, lemon). All were complex and delicious.
