No itemization of charges. This was for a bra and two pairs of thigh highs! Zero return policy it turns out!!! Buyer beware!!!
    Kim C.

Very disappointed to say the least. I have shopped here many times in the past and spent quite a bit of money: therefore, this experience has left me flat out angry. I cruised around the store, saw what I wanted. It was busy and due to Covid, I wanted in and out. I collect lingerie so I know all intimate wear shops have their policies so I always ask what their return policy is. I was told 30 days. I left for a work trip and came back, tried on the bra I purchased... literally had it on for 30 seconds over a cami. It fit very poorly as did the thigh highs I bought. I went in today to return it as it was very pricey and I felt it should have felt better and the material less irritating for the price point. Lady behind the counter is nice but is obviously new, has to get the owner on the phone to ask about my return. Owner says no to my return due to the "nature of the garment". WHAT?! Umm, no. Panties, I understand... but a bra?!! I truly believe she does not want people returning anything because of the price. Oh, it gets worse. I speak to the owner over the phone (who I have spoke with in person before and she has always been nice). I explained the situation and she says "we don't have that return policy, no one would ever tell you that." So, she's basically calling me a liar. I was truly offended. If your employee has to call you to figure out how to return something, what makes you think that the wrong info isn't being given to the customer?! There's more. I am noticing on the box of the bra that there is no price. On my email receipt, no itemization. There is NO price for anything I bought, only a sub total. I only handed over my credit card when I purchased and didn't question the total. Big mistake on my part. I tell the clerk I want to see something in writing as to their policy, a receipt... something! Anything! She tells me "sorry, I can't help you." I left here feeling as if they didn't care at all and were just being greedy regarding the situation. I still have no idea what I paid for and am left with no answers as to their return policy since I was given the wrong information from the start. I hate to say anything bad about small business but when your ego is bigger than your love for customers, people should know about it. I will be contacting the BBB and my credit card company instead. I'm sure they will be more helpful. Be careful to look at tags here and ask for prices. Obviously once you've paid, you're useless to them. Edited to respond to store owner: thank you for attempting to deflect the blame onto me. You still did not address the hidden price tag nor why I was not allowed to have a itemized receipt while in store. Valerie may have taken packages out for me to see but that does not ensure fit. If I am allowed to try the bra on in store, there's no difference about your Covid nor sanitation concerns. Greed is the consistent piece here. Truly maddening.

The first time I ever entered this cute little shop was the night of my daughter's 33rd birthday. We were having dinner next door for her birthday and I passed by Trystology. I then remembered how my daughter had always raved about this little shop, so I decided to step inside and sneak one last little birthday present for her. A gift card to Trystology! I was immediately greeted by a very lovely young lady named Valerie who was such a joy to interact with, and she welcomed me and was delighted that I stopped in. I ended up buying a $75 gift card to add to my daughter's gifts, of which she had many, including many gift cards. I snapped a really cute photo inside of the shop to post to Yelp, and asked for Valerie's name. I always Yelp! The places that have the BEST customer service. Sometimes I also Yelp! The places with the worst. Trystology is up on the top for customer service, and great gift's and beautiful, high quality lingerie. This place is a MUST for any man out there who has a lady who you are looking to purchase sexy gifts for. And, obviously also a great shop for a mom like me to buy gift cards for my very girly adult daughter. Also they wrapped the gift card up into a little cute box and put that into a little cute bag with fancy red paper stuffing and a beautiful silky red bow! So much beautiful in one little spot. Thank you Valerie for all of your help and for helping us make my daughter Angelina's birthday extra special! The way you gift wrapped the gift-card made it all the more special! Thank you so very much!

My boyfriend and I stumbled upon this store completely by accident an we're so happy we did! The store opened in February of this year. Due to local regulation (i.e. conservative prudes) the store is said to be "by appointment" for now. Just call the store and see what time someone will be in. This store has a great selection of high-end and high quality toys for women, men, and couples. They only have the best--things that are designed to and known to "get the job done" and not just "novelty." Some prices may seem high, but if you look online for the same products (Lelo toys, for example), her prices are usually lower and you can see/touch everything out of the package so you really know what you are getting. They also carry books, some "kinky items", and these great massage candles in a variety of scents. The owner was amazingly helpful, kind, and patient. She knows her stuff and really makes you feel "at home" in her store. You don't have to be shy talking to her about what you are there for and if you are shy about being seen there, you can arrange a private consultation. She also does private parties--like a "naughty" tupperware party--that are educational beyond simple product knowledge. The store is definitely worth checking out, if only to visit with the owner! She'll be having classes and seminars soon on topics ranging from "Sex After 60" to G-Spot Education, and maybe even Rope Bondage/Shibari classes! P.S.: The owner of the store's Grandma wrote a book at the age of 93 called "Shut Up and Live, You Know How": http://www.amazon.com/Shut-Live-You-Know-How/dp/1583332928 This book has a chapter on sex and points to a study that shows that people who have more orgasms live longer. I guess the apple doesn't fall far from the tree as they say. How cool to be raised by women who are so self-aware and comfortable with their bodies. Its unfortunate that so many women are raised to feel shameful and never learn all that is to be enjoyed....

Until... a couple months ago when I stopped in with my partner. I feel the need to preface this by saying I've worked in lingerie shops so I'm familiar with how sizing a client should go. When I came in almost immediately a woman approached me to tell me that I was wearing a bad bra (I had just had a weight gain so it was definitely the wrong size). She then, without asking, physically grabbed my arm and dragged me into a fitting room. She started touching my bra and tugging on me without making sure I was comfortable with this. She brought me a bra that was admittedly a great choice. However she stood there and asked me to take my clothes off, not even asking if I wanted the curtain closed (it was open) or if I wanted to be topless in front of her. I've been sized other places (even in Ventura) and I've never had to have my bare breasts out in front of the employees without active consent. I froze up to the point where she felt the need to rush me taking my bra off. Once she watched me put it on, she REACHED INTO the bra touching my breasts to adjust them instead of just asking me to do it myself. Again, never asked me or gave me a heads up, she just did it. The bra fit great but I felt really violated by the end of it. She even made jokes with my partner that made him feel very uncomfortable. I got the bra because I didn't have any that fit, and the associate at the register was actually very nice. I just left feeling really violated and disappointed. This is not a safe way to be handling people who could potentially have trauma related to their bodies. Unfortunately I will not be coming back again because of the experience with that one employee.

Let's say you wandered into a doctor's office, they don't take walk-ins either, but they will give you information if that's what you need. So. . . I came in to see how expensive mastectomy bras are and the owner asked me if I would be paying out of pocket or through my insurance company. Gosh, I did not know insurance companies pay for that kind of stuff because in the 8 years since my diagnosis no one from my health care team ever expressed an interest in helping me obtain post mastectomy gear. Based on her suggestion I did ask, and although neither of my doctors (male) had any idea what I was talking about, there was a breast care coordinator who worked for the insurance company, who contacted me and one week later I had an appointment at Althea's to get what I needed. To be properly fitted takes 45 minutes to an hour - and this is why you need an appointment. I recommend talking to your insurance company first, before making an appointment, since if they say "no" you're no worse off than before, and if they say "yes" you could save yourself hundreds of dollars. For this information alone I would have rated this place a 5. She had more information for me than anyone in any of my health care teams in the last 8 years had. (I had a different team when I lived in Kern county, plus a different insurance coverage at another time.) No one from any of these three teams ever mentioned specialty bras or prosthetic breast forms. However, I also felt the care I received during my appointment was worthy of a good rating. There was no rush and I got to try on different styles, colors, my needs were considered. It was all very thorough. If you or anyone you know is dealing with breast cancer, this is a great place to find a bra.

************REUSABLE SILICONE GEL PETALS****************…read more I hate the bra! I know most women do as well. It's constricting therefore annoying as hell. Its purpose is simply to cover. OK. In some sports I guess it serves as protection. But if I don't need it- i don't wear it. That's my motto that I live by everyday. In fact, most of my backpacking trips I am without it! I know one of its uses is for modesty or COVERAGE. I get that. So I searched high and low for something that will provide the same without the constrictive feeling all day. I used to wear this other product. Since I moved to San Jose I've been without them for about two years. I found a much better replacement since then! WHO INVENTED THE BRA? I wanted to know. I wanted to tell that person to go to hell :) So I read some more and found this info: A French woman named Herminie Cadolle was the genius behind the cups and straps. Cadolle came up with the concept in 1889, originally dubbing it the "corselet gorge." Her creation premiered at the Great Exposition in Paris and was a smash with the ladies, propelling the budding entrepreneur into a life-long career in lingerie. Madame Cadolle led a pretty amazing life. She was a very successful businesswoman in a time women rarely worked outside the house. Cadolle set up shops in Argentina and brought over the best French seamstresses to train her staff. She traveled the world, outfitting the rich and famous, while watching her business grow into a bust-ling enterprise. The company still exists today as Cadolle Lingerie. The REUSABLE SILICONE GELL PETALS will cover your nipples and it's invisible almost because it's the same color as your skin. So under your deep backless dress you can wear this babies. Wearing a tank top? You can wear this too and cover those 45 caliber bullets you have ;) AND they stick well so no worries about them falling off! Placing them is very easy and peeling them off is even easier. No residue or anything on your skin. I've worn them under a white top and no one noticed. After you wear them wash them with any soap. Air dry them and place them back on the container they came from to retain their shape and to keep them clean. I paid $8.89 for a pair and I've been wearing them for two months now. Well worth the money 10 times over! I bought mine from target in the lingerie section. What a surprise. I didn't expect to find this at all. Try them and I am sure you will love them!
