I am a loyal customer to my hair dresser, but have noticed that the atmosphere of Truesdell has changed. First the colors of the walls and frosted doors look like a dated physicians office. The beautiful seating is gone. Yes, they have benches, but the benches look cheap. The lamps, tables and flowers are no longer present. My hairdresser is amazing! Please note this review is not about her, it is more about how this spa does not feel like a spa anymore. I loved walking in there before when it did look like a spa, and now it just looks like an outdated physicians office with zero color. Whomever came up with the idea of changing the color and frosting the awful doors, really needs to refund the owner. Because you made the atmosphere of a Spa look like an everyday hair salon. read more

A vivid reminder why people tell you to ask a friend whose hair you LIKE, "who does your hair?" Never just walk in & spend this kind of money with someone who talks wayyy more than she listens while cutting your hair. I told Nazi (that's not a typo. That's her name) I didn't want a lot of short layers around the bottom. She spun me around in that chair and started hacking away while she carried on about herself and her childhood and her past work history... Now, I get to live with a bad haircut for several months before I dare trust another stylist with it. read more

I called and made a Saturday appointment with Daniela and was very nervous since I had an awful experience the last time I got my hair cut somewhere new. Daniela was amazing! She washed, conditioned, cut and styled my hair for a very reasonable price...especially since I have very thick and long hair. I've never had such a beautiful blow out...my hair was shiny and perfectly straight! I have wavy/frizzy hair so this was new for me and I loved it. Daniela cut my hair exactly like I asked and it still looks great. I'd definitely recommend seeing her for your haircare needs and I'll never go anywhere else now. read more

If I could leave a zero I would. I have been trying since November to be seen by a person here to do my nails in suite 400. I was given a Groupon and it expires soon. Finally after months of waiting I get in. I had to take an Uber and was late 15 minutes. I go inside and she tells me she has an appointment at 11. I went in at 10:15, she told me she won't be able to do everything and only a polish change. The Groupon offered more. I was okay without getting lotion all I needed was a scrub and a polish change she couldn't do that. She told me if only I had gotten there 5 minutes before putting the blame on me. I am sorry I waited 5 months and you could not wait merely 15 minutes. Now I have to Uber back and apparently come another day will I no I wont. I have never felt so small before. The lady was rude and putting it on me. I feel as if I was being dismissed because I was issuing a Groupon and the other customer is paying. I am a teacher so the 20$ on the Groupon was helping a lot. read more

If I could give 0 stars, I would! DO NOT GO HERE! Asked to keep the length, yes I know a couple of inches will come off doing so but this lady cut off 5-6 inches! And for the highlights... she only put 2 on top so now if I put my hair up, I look like I have a skunk tail on my head. This place is awful. Obviously will never go back. read more

Studio J is the barber I take my three kids to. She is the only one I trust with their hair and we have been going for 6 years. She is hard to get in with so I recommend booking appointment early, she is not one you go to for a last minute walk in cut. She is worth the wait!! read more

If you are an independent stylist looking to make that jump to start your own place, then TreusDell Salon and Spa is it. They have wonderful owners and the management at Helotes is the best I have ever seen. The site manager truly cares and is always there to make sure the facilities are running smoothly. In addition, the manager also acts as a world class receptionist to all clients coming into the salon to help answer their questions and guide them to the proper studio. There have been times that we have had a client arrive early while we are out to lunch, and she will text us to let us know the client is there. That is top notch service in my book! I had a great experience overall the salon itself is very welcoming and beautiful. I called to schedule an appointment for a haircut and they were able to get me in that week. The lady in the office also explained to me that everyone here is independent and they set their own times and pricing which I had no idea but was good to know! I also got a mani/pedi scheduled the same day as my haircut. I was grateful they were able to accomodate my request. I couldn't have been more happy with the results. I had a deep tissue massage tonight with Darryl. By far the best massage I've ever had. Not only did he focus on my problem areas, he also made sure to check with me about pressure, pain or discomfort. He made me feel very comfortable and has a great personality. My husband gave me a gift certificate. They gave me the name of someone to cut my hair: Nazi Jafari. All I wanted was a simple trim, 2 inches off the bottom, and my roots touched up. It was unbelievably bad. Words cannot describe how bad it was. It was so far beyond the worst cut of my life. It was lopsided from one side to the other. The back was crooked. Random layers and cut pieces didn't match up anywhere or make any sense. She had the tv on and me facing the tv. I think she was watching tv and not what she was doing. I also think when she got to a knot, she just cut it out instead of continuing to try to work it out with her comb. I had a weird shelf in front that was crooked and utterly irreparable, and then this scraggly much longer layer below it that was not nearly enough hair. Two people described it as mullet-ish. I had long (below my bra strap) hair. The longest layer should have been well below my shoulders. (I was actually trying to grow out the layers.) The lady I went to in order to try to get it fixed said the only way to fix it was to go chin length or shorter and there were still going to be a couple random pieces well too short to make sense. In addition to the cut being devastating, the color was laughable and worthless. I wanted my roots touched up. She suggested highlights and said she could blend them in so that no one would notice, and then I could go longer in between. It sounded great. She started the highlights at the line where my previous color was - which was two-three months worth. All it did was accent the root line. There was zero blending of any kind. They refused to refund any of my money - said it was up to her even though the gift certificate was bought through the salon. $140 for a cut that made me cry for months. I was devastated. Honestly, I still want to cry. I loved my long hair and it will take many years to get it back. read more
