I presented my paper/temporary Michigan state ID issued by the Secretary of State. This document is government-issued, includes the same identifying information used to verify identity, and uses the same ID number format as a driver's license. Because the temporary ID card was not specifically listed on your document policy, the employee informed me they could not proceed with fingerprinting/background processing. This is the case even though if it was a temporary driver's license it would have been accepted. This appears to be a policy/system oversight rather than a legitimate identity-verification issue. The result is that I am now delayed from starting my job until a hard copy arrives, which directly impacts my ability to earn income and pay bills. All of this despite bringing a valid, government-issued temporary credential. I'm requesting the following: Immediate guidance on whether this appointment can be completed using the temporary state ID card (or what alternative document combination you will accept). A policy update to include paper/temporary state ID cards wherever paper/temporary driver's licenses are accepted, since both are issued by the same agency for identity verification purposes. Confirmation in writing that this issue has been escalated to management/compliance so future customers are not delayed in the same way.

I said I'd never return but after attending an event this past week for the Lansing Chamber of Commerce and meeting CEO Nicole Noll-Williams, I figured I'd give it another chance. Today was a completely different experience and I'm so impressed with the new changes that have been implemented. The staff is MUCH more kind, the TSA check in process is much more efficient and up to date with the newest technology, and there are a lot more amenities than before. While there's still a long way to go, I am highly impressed and can say even the energy is much lighter, making my travel a lot less stressful. I look forward to seeing the growth! Cell service is spotty, especially to the north, so confirm your flight plan is closed at the airport. If you visit, don't forget to go in the airport building and record your flight. I also purchased a 42C T-shirt. They also have hats. Fence gate to airport access was unlocked, but suggest double checking with management. Code was 5321* or 1228 (Unicom). The airport building is within the fence, south of the fuel pumps, between the north and south hangars, not the building outside the fence which Google Earth identifies. Pre-flight contact to Mike Kymes, current airport manager - I suggest calling the City at 231.689.1194 since the airport is irregularly manned. That is also the number to call to confirm snow removal. Mr. Kymes was courteous and very informational about the airport's operations, parking, fuel availability, transportation, and the runaway and ramp area were expertly cleared for easy maneuvering.
