Found this small brunch spot by chance, it was quite busy and buzzing with groups of people, big and small. I was happy to see they had a vegan brunch plate that came with a bean chilli, buckwheat crepe, guac, breakfast potatoes and a side salad featuring chayote. It also had some sort of patty called "vegeasy" which I'm not sure what it served as but was delicious nonetheless. Overall pretty great and satisfying option even though I would have preferred some sort of tofu scramble as a more protein rich egg replacement. The secret is in their sauce, it's that savoury-sweet magic combo that I just love, with caramelized pears and bacon, but be warned it is *sweet*. You'll see it and think it looks small but it is so filling. In their salmon plate, the fish is nice and fatty and the flavours are perfectly balanced. Honestly, I always go back to these two options - I am sure everything is delicious, but they do those so well! The owners are from Madagascar and that heritage really shines through. Now everyone nows this place is the bomb, so I would recommend getting brunch on a week day if you can. Cute French restaurant ! I ordered the Saumon chic which was homemade whiskey smoked salmon with maple syrup and green pepper from Madagascar. It was served with homemade bread, poached eggs, fragrant sour cream combava, salad and potatoes. I also ordered the Béné doré which was Benedict eggs with holland sauce, fruits, bacon and potatoes. On the last page of the menu are Malagasy dishes including what I ordered and enjoyed immensely, the Malagasy chicken, a tomato based curry that came with rice, pan fried potatoes and a beautiful salad. It was delicious, but made even better with a bit (a very little dab because it's damn powerful) of the house made hot sauce that's on the table. I ordered Le Gluton $17.95 and a bottle of lemonade $8. I was asked if I want coffee and said yes. The breakfast came with one sausage, a half of bacon stripe and pulled ham that had no taste. Any breakfast restaurant offers two sausages and three full bacon stripes. The salad was wet and expired, the pineapple soggy. When I asked for the bill, they charged me $3 for the cup of coffee and when I asked to talk to the manager, the waitress went in the back and come back telling me he is not here, even if I talked to him when I asked him about the breakfast types they offer. Another waitress showed up instead and told me in an arrogant manner that nowhere is specified the coffee is free, even if in any breakfast place I eat for many years, they don't charge for coffee. They wanted to charge me also a $2.50 consigned fee for the lemonade bottle, but offered to to put the rest into a goblet, at no charge. I left the lemonade leftovers in place, I will never eat at that place again, terrible customer experience. What bothered me was not the super mediocre food and all the forced extras they charged, it was the second waitress way of talking and the manager refusing to talk to me. read more

My Airbnb host highly recommended this restaurant and it did not disappoint! My friend and I went around 1:30 for a quiet lunch after taking an early flight in from Chicago. What a welcome treat! There was only one other couple there and the customer service was great. The menu came on a clipboard with the specials. We both ended up selecting the house-cured salmon with candied tomato on an everything bagel, a side salad that was lightly dressed with a vinagrette, and these roasted potatoes that were seasoned with some unique spices. I couldn't figure out quite what it was, but all I can say that everything was demolished and nothing was left on my plate or my friend's. I grabbed a quick lunch here on a friend's recommendation and I liked it! The food is Madagascarian at heart, but I guess they do a bunch of other basic brunch things. I just tried the fried noodles with egg which was freshly made, tasty and light. I added a bunch of hot sauce to it when I got the leftovers home, but maybe that's just me. I also tried the 'best ever lemonade' which was full of fresh mint, and not too sweet and really great. I wish places like this would simplify and focus on what they do best and doing it better than everyone - the pieces of paper taped on the window with brunch updates and other menu item deals feel like afterthoughts, and they make me feel sympathy but not excitement.
