Best fried chicken ever. I don't typically order food for delivery but I did last spring and Tsaocaa had probably the best fried chicken I have ever had. We stopped by on Saturday. Drinks and snacks were delicious, and different than any other Boba places we've visited. My husband and daughter requested Thai teas (one with boba) and I got a Lychee green tea (with crystal pearls and a salty milk foam on top). Loved the drinks and the waffles were a fun treat. Stopped by Tsaocaa for bubble tea after seeing a movie at the Oriental theatre next door. They were pretty standard drinks. There's a big gap between 30% and 50% sweetness. 30% was just enough for me (and that's coming from someone with a sweet tooth!) I was impressed with the purple potato milk tea which was the first thing I tried. There were real chunks of purple potato and purple rice and I think some red beans. There was a lot going on but the result was harmonious and a little surprising. I also liked that you can choose your level of sweetness. I prefer my drinks lightly sweetened. I thought the tea was still plenty sweet. I came back the next day and got the same thing because I kept thinking about it, but I have also tried the brown sugar black tea with bubble and it was good too. Still very good and we could taste the crispy skins! So that really meant sth. My Hong Kong style matcha egg waffles and 0% sugar lactose free purple potato milk swirl were also very delicious. Highly recommend the 0% sugar purple potato milk swirl - rich, creamy, fresh & full of good purple potato flavor! The matcha egg waffles - you have to eat them when they are hot so that they remain crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside! But still, I like the flavor and because I am actually from that area, I can tell it's pretty authentic even though the delivered ones that I got cooled down already. I've been here twice this week. Their taro milk is delicious and they don't use powder--it's real taro. The drink is not artificially sweet, it's perfectly balanced with the milk and the chewy boba. I noticed the boba is lighter in color than other places, so I was expecting the consistency to be off-but it was pleasantly chewy and kept it's consistency as I enjoyed my drink. I hate when it's over cooked and gets soggy before you finish your drink, and again, it was not a concern here. The only reason I deducted a star was it is pretty oily in there. I know they make fried chicken sandwiches however, the scent lingers and sticks to you. Both times I've been in, I've come out smelling like the chicken/oil? It really penetrates your clothing, and I'm wondering if it's a ventilation issue? Again, it doesn't affect the taste of their boba, but it made for a slightly unpleasant experience sitting inside. I would've stepped outside but it was late and there was a lot of police activity outside. I brought someone with me and they also mentioned the lack of ventilation in the building. I've ordered from Tsaocaa a few times when my boba cravings start to hit (the boba cravings are real!) and I've always had a good experience! They have a variety of fun drinks, food, and other sweet treats. I love that their drinks use real fruit and that most of their drinks already comes with toppings! The only reason why I didn't give five stars is because sometimes there's not enough boba (but you can always add extra toppings!) and though I love that they use fresh taro for their drinks, the little bits of taro/texture is a little off putting to me. My visit to Tsaocaa, the new boba shop, had its ups and downs. First impressions matter, and unfortunately, the lack of a greeting upon entering - even with multiple staff at the counter - was a bit of a letdown. On the bright side, their moist chicken sandwich is really good although I ordered a honey garlic sandwich, there was only the tiniest bit of honey garlic on it so it basically tasted like the original chicken. so if you want to taste the sauce on it make sure to ask for extraaaaaaa sauce. As a boba enthusiast, I couldn't resist ordering one of their signature boba drinks. The flavor was on point, and the boba pearls had a great chewy texture. My only gripe was that they skimped a bit on the boba pearls - a little more would have been perfect! A note on the atmosphere: the lively ambiance had its downside. The music was cranked up so high that even though my drink was called three times, I couldn't hear it . Overall, Tsaocaa has a lot of potential with its standout dishes and boba options. The employees defiantly need more training in regards to the food and the service. I would come back but not for a while. read more

Recently moved from Chicago and have been praying I would find a decent place for cheese tea. I tried Uni Uni and Bambu and they were both gross. Tsaocaa is a dream come true. I tried the iced osmanthus milk tea with milk foam (which is another name for cheese top), and it was incredible. The chicken was great. Light and crispy, just how I love it. I'm not a huge bobba fan, but the one I had was as good as anything I've ever had when I lived in LA. Don't expect to dine in though. While the place is not small, it has like 3 tiny tables, and two standing ones. Not a comfortable place to sit and enjoy a meal. I'll prob get food to go in the future.
