Along with our bottle of wine, it made for a very good night out. I started with the East Coast Oysters, then had the wedge salad, Cioppino, and the key lime pie. Everything was so fresh and delicious. The only wrinkle was slowish service -- maybe due to low staffing?

At the end of our meal he turned to me and said "it either used to be way better here or maybe the restaurants in the burbs have just gotten a lot better over time." Our meal last night at Pescadero was just A-OK. Our waiter got the job done, but wasn't overly helpful. Ex: he asked after we put in our entree if we wanted anything else and we decided to throw in some oysters. He then told us he didn't know if he could get them out before our entrees since he already put in the order. Well he asked, didn't he? When we asked if the east or west coast oysters were meatier his response was "they are all the same here." They get a star for having Riesling and it was a pretty tasty one. We had very unexciting shrimp cocktail and oysters for our apps. I would skip both next time, which is sad for a seafood & oyster bar. For my entree I got the scallops special. According to my last review from here i loved the scallops. These scallops (served with risotto) were enjoyable, but would probably order something else next time. And my husband said his salmon was just fine. I love a good seafood & oyster bar so bummed this didn't live up to our past meals here, but it's a nice atmosphere so was still a nice Sat evening out in downtown Wilmette.

My husband and I typically just share the shrimp and crab leg combo and will add in hard boiled eggs and/or sausage. Always tasty! Service is great and attentive. Lots of space within the restaurant. We've come early(ish) on Fridays (about 5/5:30 pm) and by the time we're walking out there are a lot more tables being served. Would definitely give this place a try if you're in the area!

I'm so glad we decided to try out the Tasty crab, the food was not good, it was amazing!!!! An explosion of flavor and so much better than Angry Crab! My daughter who is 8, very picky eater btw was raving about how delicious this place was! Alex our server was extremely knowledgeable, helpful and gave us the best suggestions that did not disappoint! My toddler was even going in on the shrimp, noodles and fries! Every single item was tasty! My kids, can't wait to go back and quite frankly neither can we! The restaurant was clean and very cute suitable for casual, a date night, or in our case a family date. -Shout to alex! The best service we've had in a sit down restaurant, not sure which I was most impressed with, the service you provided or the food! Thank You!

I absolutely love Pomeroy!  I know I have said it many times.  This past Mother's Day we went to…read morePomeroy again.  It has become our go-to restaurant for celebrations.  I always consider Mother's Day the ultimate test for any restaurant, and Pomeroy passes with flying colors year after year! As expected, the restaurant was packed, both inside and in the beautiful courtyard. Families filled the dining room, with children of all ages at about 90% of the tables. The team at Pomeroy has been so consistent and professional, that all of our dishes were delivered at a perfect and steady pace, and qualities remained high. Although we got a different server each time we went, they were all very welcoming, friendly, and attentive.  This time, Carlisle did such a wonderful job even though she was super busy, and she wished me a happy Mother's Day several times to make sure that my day was special.  I must mention that the friendly hostess greeted me with well wishes too, and said happy Mother's day again when we left. We had noticed that they had replaced the couch in front of the courtyard fireplace with more tables.  Who could blame them when they had so many patrons to seat.  However, the courtyard still looked gorgeous. Now on to the food and drinks.  I had a mocktail Bleu 75 ($13) that's my favorite, my husband had a glass of chardonnay ($17), our daughter had a Le Spritz Strawberry ($16).  We shared an order of Sea Scallops ($23) and a Warm Tomato Tarte ($19).  I had my go-to dish which was the Mediterranean Sea Bass ($38), I loved the seared skin that was crispy on the edges. Husband and Daughter each ordered a Spring Halibut ($92 for 2) from the Mother's Day menu.  We ordered 2 Strawberry Crème Brulee ($28 for 2), and I shared 1 with my husband.  I also had a cappuccino ($6). The check came up to $283.05 before tips (they add a 3% surcharge to each guest check, which may be removed upon request, we didn't).  As always, our dinner was very enjoyable and it's worth the money.  I had a very happy Mother's Day dinner, and it ended a wonderful weekend with high notes!  We will keep returning!

When we got to Pomeroy for dinner, we were seated in the farthest back room, one that was open-air ... the staff never asked us, they just put us there. The room was nice as was the weather, but the open-air room had gnats all over the place. Now we realize that gnats or fruit flies oftentimes come with wine servings ... and the Pomeroy has a bunch of nice wines, but the gnats flying around your face all through dinner was not pleasant. We ordered drinks to start, and found it hit-or-miss. The Watermelon Margarita seemed tempting, so we tried one. It came with a big smear of Tajin powder on the rim, and was not appealing. Once again, we thought they should mention this kind of thing before it appears. They replaced the drink, but it kept us off on the wrong foot. All in all, they still put our good food. Our complaint was the seating, the gnats, and the Tajin powder ... all they had to do was ask for our preferences and these could have been avoided. But alas, they drop to four stars.

Everyone needs a clutch restaurant. The place that always comes through. It's convenient,…read moreconsistent, and, most of all, incredibly good. I've had many clutch spots over the years as I moved around, but it took me a minute to find my North Shore go-to. But here I am, a local for half a year now, and my go-to is Ni's, 100%. Lisa, the owner extraordinaire, is friendly, engaging, and an absolute customer service star. Not to mention a formidable chef. She has an obvious passion for food and its cultural history, and I love talking with her about it. The whole crew at Ni's is awesome and always happy to chat or handle any dish alterations. They clearly care about their clientele, and it's one of the things that keeps me coming back. My "must have" is the veggie summer rolls. I get them every time. Really, really good. And after living in the Vietnamese neighborhood of San Francisco for a few years, eating out almost daily, I've had my fair share of summer rolls. The produce at Ni's is always fresh, and I love how they cleverly use jicama for crunch. The rolls come with peanut sauce, but Ni's makes a delicious vegan fish sauce in-house that I go with almost every time. Banh Mi, Veggie Pho, Crispy Tofu, Fried Rice, I've had everything on the menu that is vegan or can be made so, and I'll gladly order them all again and again. This is not an all-vegan restaurant by any stretch (fear not, meat eaters), but Lisa goes out of her way to have options, and I've never been anything but satisfied. Even my kindergartner is into the veggie Pho broth and summer rolls, and he's not the easiest to please. Wilmette is lucky to have Ni's. I hope everyone knows that. They're tucked around the corner from the busier area of Central Ave and Wilmette Ave, and I've been doing my best to spread the word. "You've never been to Ni's?! Get the hell outta here.." So, if you didn't know, now you do. You're welcome.

A lot of the classics to get. They also have a few vegetarian choices so there's plenty for all tastes. Came at lunch and it wasn't that busy. It's usually a bad sign. Thankfully it wasn't. A lot of the familiar things on the menu. There's of course the banh mi and pho. It's about $13 for the Veggie Pho Chay. This has bamboo and mushrooms. Has a few things to add on. There's basil leaves, bean sprouts, and jalapeños to give it spiciness. Has a great variety of Vietnamese classics. It's closed Tuesdays. There's a few things for vegans and vegetarians.
