With such high standards regarding the expectation of excellence with auto/self serve car washes nowadays, this place blew me out the water--pun intended. Tsunami car wash lives to its name. I think Yelp reviews for the sake of complaining are a complete joke, but, these 5 stars go well-deserved and unprovoked. Service=phenomenal. First day I ever went there, they're offering towels, a plethora of vacuums and disposal bins to use at your leisure, and basically they have a drive-thru for all your essential car needs (air fresheners, towels, car cleaners, wet wipes, all that express stuff). I love car washes and keeping the ship clean. I've been all over and have yet to find any other wash in the north shore even remotely comparable to the QUALITY that TSUNAMI car wash provides and represents. They crammed so many cars in the wash line. The guy in front hit his brakes and everyone in the line ended up bumping the car in front of them. The guy took off. No major damage to my vehicle, but the logo on the front of my car was broken in half. Don't blame the business for the original car who hit the brakes, but don't cram the line in case something like this happens. Both the guy manning the window as well as the attendant took extra time to scrub the car thoroughly before we went through the wash. Buyer beware! I have gone through this car wash numerous times. It has 3 lanes to purchase wash(cashier, automated and membership). Then they merge to one. Just realized that when it's busy you may not get the wash you paid for. I. just paid for a $12 wash and someone from the other lane happened to get out in front of me and he took my wash, and I was stuck with the $6 wash. Looking back, this has happened numerous times. Customer service is poor and did not reimburse me for mistake. They do not regulate the purchase of your wash with your place in line. read more

DEFECTIVE CAR WASH!!! DO NOT USE!!!! The car wash in Gurnee, Illinois is defective. My car got stuck at the end of the wash and the truck behind me ran into the back of my car and damaged my bumper. Went into the office with the other driver, who by the way told me his wife's car had gotten stuck the day before, and the crazy manager/owner had the nerve to accuse me of shifting my car into park and said that's why my car had gotten stuck. I go to Tsunami Car Wash in Gurnee on Delaney Road and Grove all the time and haven't had a problem until this past Sunday (03/26/23). After leaving the car wash my car was still wet as the dryers don't work as well as they did when this business first opened. After driving home I noticed dents on my drivers side hood. I immediately called the business and spoke to an older gentleman. Explained to him that I had just been there and now have dents on my hood and scratches ( I should not have said "scratches" because they are more like "rub" marks) as if the arm mechanism had hit my hood I told him I did not have the dents before I went through the car wash and I was sick about it! He told me that his car wash does not use brushes so it couldn't have scratched it and there was no problem with his machine and there was nothing he could do about it and hung up. It ended up being a very expensive car wash for me as I have to take my vehicle to an auto body shop for repairs !! read more

I have been going to Tsunami Car Wash on Grove Street since the business opened and this winter I noticed that the salt was not being removed after the $15.00 Tsunami selected wash. I mentioned this to the wash assistant who lines the cars into the wash and he said to use the code on the ticket to go through again. I mentioned that in the past only one wash was needed to clean the vehicle and was happy with the results. He said the cold weather and the caked on salt needs to be soaked sometimes to actually come off. Not really encouraging with his comments I started going to another wash on Rt. 137 where the car is hand dried and very happy with the results. read more

We have two vehicles under the UNLIMITED plan. Our vehicle went through the car wash today. When we returned home, the entire rear end was missed and still dirty. We went to dinner and came back to have the SUV rewashed. Once there the system says you have exceed the amount of car washes for the day. Again the car was not washed properly the first time. I backed out and spoke to an older gentleman about the car still being dirty from the original wash from today. BTW the older gentleman said he was in charge. He just gave me a hard time and after I told him I have two memberships, he stated the vehicle can only go through once. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. I told him I will be cancelling both memberships. He asked me for my credit card to process, however if I cancel I would not be able to get any other car washes for the remainder of the month I paid. Pretty sneaky. I left and will tell all my family, friends, and neighbors to not go here as they have the WORST customer service. We as consumers have choices. Don't patronize this business as the fine print for an UNLIMITED CAR wash states only one car wash per day. If your car wash missed dirt on a vehicle you should do the right thing and have the vehicle go through again. Someone needs to take a course on customer service. I had my Mercedes R-350 washed today at the Tsunami car wash in Gurnee. When the car came out it had no longer the gas filler door attached. One attendant walked the car wash and found it. Another one proceeded with me to my car where we observed what happened. He referred me to the owner who had to come down from his office and seemed to be annoyed that we disturbed him. Without going into detail, even looking at he dismissed that his car wash did anything and refused getting involved. Damage is over a hundred Dollar for the part and repair. I have had a membership since this place opened, it has always been known to me for the older guy there to get frustrated easily. I went on Sunday April 3rd, and the car in front of me got stuck on the tire brushes causing my car to roll into hers. I couldn't prevent it because it's a conveyor belt and her car was being pushed back. The owner claims it is her fault and said she hit the brakes but she absolutely didn't. My car had gotten stuck so many times but I figured out how to just put it in drive and push through. Not everyone is aware of what to do! Not the customer fault either. There should be a sensor to turn it off if the car isn't moving,or a person to monitor it! My grill is completely broken. The owner screamed at me because he says it's impossible for it to be a malfunction. I watched my dashcam video, THERE WAS NOTHING WE COULD DO. Both cars damaged are brand new!
