Love this place for any nail or eyebrow service. I always get a gel pedi the service is always quick and professional. Today I had Mike and he is great like all of the staff. I had an issue with one toenail and he was so good at taking care of the problem! The interior is very nice here! Comfortable chairs, fountains on the walls and pleasant music. I'm really disappointed with my experience here. I've come to this salon before and even recommended it to multiple people, which makes this even more frustrating to write. During my appointment, I clearly said I did NOT want my nails cut--only filed--but the technician (vivian) cut them anyway, much shorter than I wanted. I also had a concern with one nail, and without my consent, she applied powder gel after I specifically said no. This ended up making the situation worse, not better. What upset me most was the lack of communication and disregard for what I asked for. I felt like my preferences were completely ignored. I left unhappy with my nails, and honestly really upset--it was my birthday, and I ended up crying after the appointment. Despite all of this, I was still expected to pay full price. I had previously trusted and recommended this salon, but after this experience, I won't be returning. I hope this feedback is taken seriously so this doesn't happen to someone else. read more

I went here after the other nail salon I went to was closed on Sunday's. I needed to get my nails filled before my trip and Sunday was the only day I had availability. I went in right after opening and they got me in right away. I had a gentleman do my nails and he was very gentle and did a very good job with my nails. I did a gel fill, and then have so many gel colors to choose from. I loved the variety of brands and colors. I usually use DND brand and they do carry that but also have brands I've never heard of. The salon itself was very clean and in good condition. They got busy quickly after opening. I would recommend if you're looking for a nail salon that does amazing work! read more

They both had their cuticles chopped up, then the techs put nail glue on their bleeding cuticles, then they painted over the cuticles, and finished with uneven paint. I spent that much money to have someone who clearly didn't want to be doing a pedi/ mani in the first place and when I went to check out asked for a tip in cash. My tip is to do a better job. I went to this place last minute on Sunday and they happily took me in. I got a gel manicure by June. She did an amazing job and told me how to take care of my skin under my nail called Hyponychium. It's painful when you cut it and accidentally cut your skin. She helped me sand the skin down which was me too me considering I've been getting my nails done for 10+ years and no one ever told me. Had a dip powder manicure and a gel pedicure. When trying to explain that I just wanted a fill on my manicure, the technician insisted that I needed to remove my nails and start over, when there wasn't much space between the nail and cuticle. I felt pressured to receive a service that I didn't ask for and it felt like a money grab. The pedicurist was male and extremely rough with my feet. He clipped at my cuticle as if he was chopping up meat and I had to tell him to stop digging into my foot, as it was sore and bleeding after how rough he was. I honestly felt like crying after being charged $150 to be pressured and assaulted. The environment is really nice but not worth the technicians. read more

My friend just came here and got her nails done and showed a picture of what she wanted to the worker, just a simple cheetah print and they said they could do the design she wanted and insisted that she got them. Then while she was getting the nails done my friends sister asked again if she could do the design and the worker told her that she couldn't. If i could show a picture of the nails she got. Oh my. They're horrible and they fell off 2 days after she got them done. So they went back a couple days later and asked for a refund because they didn't say no refunds in person or online, and the worker started yelling at them telling them to leave and that they "don't belong there" and hid in the back she she couldn't talk to him anymore. So basically i don't recommend coming here unless you wanna get some jacked up nails so ya. My wife and I had two spa pedicures. And Sandy who did my wife's pedicure was fantastic She was happy and did an amazing pedicure for my wife. My wife commented the BEST she ever had! However. My pedicure was the worst I ever had. I had Dawn and she gave an awful pedicure. Cold water and spent more time wandering around and looking around then giving a pedicure. She was aggressive with the nails and she just didn't want to be there. She basically just rubbed a bunch of lotion all over my legs and feet and then wiped it off. Recently visited this location and I often frequent this location as well ( every 2/3 weeks max). Went in for a gel fill and gel pedicure. I had a nail that was broken in half that day which prompted me to visit the location. I requested for it to be properly removed and instead of taking the broken part off completely the nail tech put acrylic over it and said it's fine it will not be an issue. I can't believe this!!!! My hand and forearm were hurting me for 2 days in a row and I saw that there was a dark spot through my nail and it was growing so I finally got the nail taken off and my nail was green. The pedicure technician utensils were rusted and not visibly clean. The nail files were very dull and overly used. Additionally, there are no visible signs in the establishment that state they do not accept AMEX but whenever I choose this as my method of payment I'm either met with attitude or one of the Employees or manager aggressively suggesting I use another form of payment or bluntly stating they do not accept this method of payment. read more

Would not recommend this place. Went there with bridesmaids, bride, and mother of the bride. They weren't very nice. Seemed extremely rushed and disorganized. The salon was chaotic and communication was poor. Bride's mother was kind enough to to pay for everyone's nails in celebration of the bride getting married, and they made it so complicated and tried arguing a lot. Not something you want to experience as a bride. Also, they didn't give me what I wanted despite the nail tech continuously saying "I want you to be happy and get what you want". HOT STONE PEDICURE by Tina was MARVELOUS - not only did it include the hot stones on my legs and feet but I got a full hand, arm and neck massage as well! I feel completely REVITALIZED by this indulgent and wonderful experience I had today. My manicure, done by Helen, even got a fun Cat-eye job -- let me tell you, I'm not an easy client in terms of my nails and yet she was full of patience and care to ensure I got what I needed. My nails look fantastic! I came in today because my usual nail place (Tu Nails in Saint Paul) didn't have availability and goodness am I glad I did!! I was very excited to take my daughter for her first full set here this morning and one of the staff members bumped into her on purpose while we were looking at the polish. Then turned around and glared at her. My daughter is 11 years old. It made her feel very uncomfortable and ruined an experience that was suppose to be fun. The atmosphere of this nail shop is tasteful, modern, and appealing. I asked for a basic pedicure and a gel manicure. They ushered me to a foot station immediately and the water was ready but she did not ask how the temp was. It could have been a little warmer. She immediately asked me to pick the type of pedicure I wanted off the sheet. Nowhere on that sheet was a "basic" pedicure so I am not certain if they offer something below the 37.00 price point which was the lowest price listed and so I went with peppermint . The service provider quickly started trying to "upsell" me on the gel polish for my feet. Oh it dries quicker, blah blah. I told her I was not interested but thank you for offering. My toenails could have been clipped down a little but I did not say anything. She did not offer much assistance with the massage buttons on the chair either. My main complaint was with my gel nail procedure. I got absolutely no massage during this and not once did they have me wash my hands which was weird. They also expressed disappointment with my lack of cash tip as I asked for them to add it to my card. I will continue my quest to try and find a decent nail shop that is consistently wonderful for the price. read more

I was a loyal customer to this salon by going every 2 weeks for services. I went tonight with my 7 year old niece. We got pedicures, she got a manicure & I got a fill ($109). After my nails were painted I noticed there were pretty obvious errors on 7/10 due to rushing. I'll note that at my last service this same thing happened (same tech). So I asked the manager politely to please have them repainted with gel so I wouldn't have to wait another 20+ minutes with the child (it was getting close to dinner time) & I informed him that this is a repeat problem. He told me no, that I was being ridiculous & harassing him (he had a raised voice, I did not). He said it would be an extra $20 to have them repainted (they already took the polish off). So I left with my nails unpainted & had to explain to my niece why the man at the nail salon was being so mean to us. Extremely sad situation. read more

I was in for a pedicure and the nail tech who did my nails did not cut the cuticles, got gel polish all over my nail bed, and missed polish on some area of the nails. When I called the store, the owner/manager yelled at me, said they don't do refunds (which there is no sign posted in their store about) and said if I wanted something done I need to go back in tomorrow to have it fixed. I'm almost hesitant to write this for fear of them being overrun by so many new customers that I can never get an appointment, but here we go. Earlier today I got a pedi/gel mani at Tu Nails Woodbury, MN and it was easily the best mani/pedi of my life. Untill today I'd never been here. The space is brand new and beautiful, and the pedi tubs were wrapped in things that looked like shower caps (changed with each customer) to prevent gross stuff. Super comfy massage chairs and everything was super clean. Relaxing music (no tvs) and little waterfalls built into the wall that separates the pedi area from the mani area. The staff was super friendly and efficient from start to finish, and my nail tech was awesome. I get some scary callouses and she tackled them like a pro. Fabulous leg massage and my toenails are perfect. On to the gel mani. This was my first. I never get manicures in general because I always screw them up before I even get home. I've had acrylic/gel nails in the past and they always looked too fake for me so I was nervous about this gel polish thing. To clear up any misconceptions, a gel mani is a different thing than gel nails. The only things different between a gel mani and and a regular mani is it takes a little longer, it's a little more expensive, and between coats you have to stick your hand in a little light box to solidify the polish. And when it's done, your nails are perfect, dry, smudge-proof, and unless some tragedy befalls them (i.e. operator error), beautiful for at least two weeks! So there's my review. No one paid me, no one asked me to write this, I'm not getting any kickbacks. I just know that when I'm looking for a new place for services that last slightly longer than say, dinner, I love nothing more than a review from someone who takes the time to include details. Ok. It's been a year since i first visited Tu, having been in California where nail care is a artform. i felt the need to change my rating as i was so disappointed with the service. My daughter and I admittedly went at a busy time, but got seated for pedicures. Her tech started immediately, was super friendly, concerned. Mine, she was oddly distracted. She must have left me 5 or 6 times, for 5 minutes at a time. While my daughter was has having a great experience, i felt ignored. Interestingly, my tech was finished 15 minutes before hers. The polish i chose was thinned, my nails rough on the edges and color applied poorly. Next day, ragged edges showed up around many nails. I was very disappointed as the service used to be great, I'm not willingly to spend $60 to take another chance. Lost my business read more

Don't believe the 5 star reviews you see... SO disappointed in my service received yesterday. Coming from out of town for my fathers funeral so I wanted to relax before things got hectic. Me and 3 other family members went in to get serviced, with me getting a pedicure. The main guy, I'm guessing the manager, told us that it's is better to get a gel pedicure since regular polish takes forever to dry, and once again we were on a time frame, so we opted for the gel pedicure which was $47 rather than the $27 for the regular. The place is pretty! Don't get me wrong but the service is HORENDOUS. I picked out a dark glittery rose gold color that wasn't translucent on the swatch, but when it was put on my toes it was see through, which I hate, & I asked right away after the first toe to see if it would stay translucent and my nail tech (young Asian man) didn't understand, so he had to get the "managers" attention and I asked again, if it was going to stay translucent and he said no and he let my guy know what my question was. At that time my nail tech started to put thicker coats so that it wouldn't be see through. I thought okay no problem he knows what he's doing. He then only put my toes under the uv light for about 30 seconds each coat, which I know isn't the right amount of time since I've been trained in gel mani/pedi procedure being a cosmetologist, but hey give the benefit of the doubt and I'd rather not stress over it since there are greater things I had to worry about. When it came to the top coat he put each food under 3 times ... weird. At the end the finished results didn't look bad, but he kept touching it and then told me it was okay to put my shoes on. Now less than 24 hours later my toe polish is completely peeling off like little girls polish does. I went in to request a refund, because let's be honest I have no time to sit for another 30-45 mins for you to redo it when I'm here for once again for my fathers funeral I have much greater things to do & if you couldn't do it right the first time how do I even know it would be right done the second time? The lady even said "yea gel not dry" yet you still won't give a re As a hairstylist myself I know how important customer service is, and they had none from the time that the First Lady greeted us to the ugly smirk on the second ladies face when she told me that she wouldn't refund my money for my service that you can't even call a service since it's ruined now. Tip for management: focus on quality over quantity, because you won't have quantity for long with the quality. Next time I'll be sure to drive across the street for Spalon Montage for better service next time visiting family. read more

I have friends that have gone there and had good luck, but they mixed powder and gel which I have been told doesn't work. They were very adamant that yes it is fine and my nails would be strong. It has been lass than 2 weeks and I have lost 3 nails. It was totally my nail underneath too so now I have to get tips back on. I didn't even hit them hard or bend them. I wanted to give this place 5 stars, and if I were giving a rating on service alone, I definitely would. But it was VERY off-putting that when I was paying, the lady kept insisting that I use their ATM to give her a cash tip instead of adding it to my card. I was not interested in doing that as it would have been several dollars in ATM fees. She was literally refusing to run my card with the tip (they have done this for me there before and at pretty much every other salon on the planet). This place is horrible - I'm not happy with the services I received today. I'm pregnant obviously I will have bad calluses but this is completely unacceptable her work basically made my feet worse - these are pictures when I walked out of the salon - obviously I came here to get my heels clean and if they can't do their job why should I pay them my hard earn money?
