I returned my order because it had tomatoes on it and not only was the person taking orders rude, the cashier gave me a cold sub when it was supposed to be toasted. My family eats Tubby's subs twice a week and despite living 3 blocks from this location I always have to drive 4 miles north because this store is never open. They need to take this store back from the lazy owner so they can find an owner that likes to make money. At best they are open 20 hours per week and that's ridiculous given how popular this franchise is! read more

I live right next to a tubbys but drive the extra to come up this one. I used to at least. The lady's that work there are always friendly and they definitely get down on the grill. My poor experience was the owner. Yea I may have forgotten to ask for tubby sauce and ranch when I ordered but I realized and was fully ready to pay, cash in hand. But instead he Hollars out "I'll give you one each free of charge" (in an aggressive manner) told him I'd pay for it and he just continues to mutter under his breath. On top of everything I asked for extra crispy cottage fries. Even made sure they knew I wanted em extra. I put an extra too just to be sure even! Get in the truck, look in the bag and whattaya know! I'm not sure why this location is so much different (and better) than the one down the road on Mound, but it is my go-to Tubby's when I crave a pizza steak 'n cheese. The bread is always soft and they always get my order right. The service is always relatively friendly and the food is always good. Corporate office is doing nothing to control the way this owner treats his customers. Tubby's submarine has the worst customer service ever. My family recently had a very disturbing experience at this store and was in touch with corporate staff of this company. They didn't care enough to handle the situation as a serious matter. I finally stopped wasting my breath after no apology. I did however call 5 offices of other competitors to Tubby's. They Couldn't believe how crazy the story was and how Tubby's failed us as loyal customers . If u scroll down to Unrecommended reviews you will see the story. Anyway, all 5 other sub shops have given my mother $20 each to use at their sub shops . We didn't even get a call back from Tubby's CEO. It was very serious what happen at his store and he doesn't care. But his competitors do and they have showed us how a business should be run. Thank u Jimmy John's , Subway, Jersey Mike's , Buscemi and Lenny's. Tubby's will not survive with such poor customer relations , especially when that is the focus of so many other stores. Remember Tubby's you need us we don't need you. Beware of these other reviews Two of them are just the owner giving himself high ratings. My family will continue to let others know about what happened to us. We feel very strongly about the matter. We didn't want anything except a sincere apology and the truth. While this particular Tubby's may make the best subs around, my Mom just had an incredibly horrendous experience there. She ordered two Jumbo submarines minus the lettuce through the drive-thru and paid with her debit card. When they were opened, they were obviously not Jumbo AND they had lettuce! So, my Mom called the shop right away and the person who answered the call told my Mom she could come in the following day between 10-4 and get her 2 subs made the RIGHT way. My Mom was happy and appreciated it. Until, the next day when she went in to place her re-order. The workers behind the counter said they could do nothing for her even though my Mom gave the name of the worker who helped her and the time of her order and phone call. They went and got the owner who happened to be there and my Mom explained the situation yet again and... he basically treated her incredibly inappropriately and rudely. He called her a "thief", accusing her of trying to "steal" the subs from him. She urged him to look at the receipts from the night before as proof that she ordered them. He lied and said that there was no record of the purchase. When my mom called her bank the next day, there was record of the purchase and my Mom was able to go in a get proof of the order she had indeed placed with her debit card. When he asked what she used to pay she told him her debit card and tossed it down on the counter. Later he accused her of "assaulting" him by throwing it at his chest. She did tear up the punch cards that were given to her from previous visits and tossed them up in the air... in frustration but not in aggression or anywhere near that. The whole time the owner was being verbally aggressive and inappropriate towards my Mom. He said he was calling the police. My Mom said she was fine with that because she in no way did anything wrong. She was urged to leave the establishment by the workers. My Mom did. The owner followed her out and began to take photos of her license plate. She attempted to take a picture of his but her cell phone camera would not work. So she turned and walked towards her car. One of the workers rushed her from behind and shoved my Mom two times. There were two men walking into the shop at that time and my Mom yelled for help. They told her that they were co-owners and were not on her side in what was going on even though it was obvious that the worker acted out of line completely by going after my Mom. To shed further light on the situation, my Mom is 60 years old and rescues homeless and abused dogs off the streets of Detroit. She is taking care of her very ill Mother and is the LAST person on this planet who would act out aggressively. The owner claims his worker was "protecting" him from my Mom. My Mom contacted the corporate office who offered her an inadequate service regarding the situation. All my Mom wanted was an apology from the owner for his lies and how he treated her. It is my assumption that the corporate office put some type of pressure on him. He called her and attempted an apology ... but he still called her a thief and that she assaulted him with her debit card, etc. This is such a disturbing situation especially because when the police arrived at the scene, instead of one talking with my Mom and the other talking with the owner, they went into the shop first... so basically the owner and the 3 workers all told the same lies to the police and being it was the word of 4 against 1, they took no regard at all to what my Mom had to say about the whole experience. I'm not sure who will even read this but just thought I'd share what happened. I say go to Jimmy John's, Subway, Firehouse, Quizno's and ditch Tubby's. It's terrible because whenever I visit back home, I ALWAYS get a Tubby's pizza steak and cheese submarine... and I found them to be extra well-made from this particular Tubby's Sup Shop. This owner fabricated a story, his employee physically attacked my harmless, 60 year old Mom, and the police and Corporate Tubby's basically blew my Mom off with a "Too Bad So Sad" response. And to clarify one important fact, the worker who told my Mom to come in the next day to get her order made-right WAS PRESENT at the time and also did admit to Corporate Tubby's that she herself gave that particular directive. So, all that had to be done was make my Mom her 2 submarines... to ensure a satisfied, returning customer. The owner could have then used that as a learning experience for his staff and give them directives about how he would like future situations of "orders not made right' to be handled. Instead my Mom is shaken to the core by being made out to be a liar....she was physically attacked... and was disregarded in every way possible. So, NO MORE TUBBY'S for this family and I will urge anyone and everyone I cross paths with to do the same. Shame on the owner, shame on Tubby's Corp. and shame on the Warren Police officers involve. read more

DON"T EAT HERE! I have recently heard of a terrible incident that happened to my friend, Marlene on Thursday March 12, 2015. She was attacked physically and verbally by the manager and staff after she went in to have her ordered remade that they made wrong. The whole incident was caught on video but corporate Tubby's refused my friend's request to please have this manager turn over the video so the truth can be told. He refused and corporate didn't care enough to shut him down unless he gave the video up. My friend has nothing to hide. She is shaken up after being attacked. All she wants is the truth and sincere apology. She was offered sub coupons. No thank you. Even though her mother is in hospice and she is the caregiver she was determined to be heard by the company. They have done nothing but waste she time and her family's time with no true action. They asked the man to apologize but they should have demanded to see the video and decide what to do from there. The corporate people claim that since it is a franchise they can't make him show the video. If they wanted to see it they could shut him down until the video shows the truth. If the manager had nothing to hide, he could willingly show it to the company. That is why I am writing this to help them spread the word. Robert the CEO really needs to investigate this franchise. The family has left multiple calls to him with no return calls. I understand he is busy but so is Marlene and her family. If a restaurant attacks a customer it should be a priority to respond. It is a disgrace to the whole company that they would let something like this happen without any concern. When a mistake happens a heartfelt apology needs to be given and the mistake rectified. So many things went wrong by the company on so many levels and all because this one sub shop didn't just remake the subs that they knew they had made wrong and Marlene had to drive there to get remade. Instead she was verbally and physically disrespected over an order of less than $20 worth of food. The girl working at the store who messed up the order and told her to come in the next day between 10-4. She did this. That same girl was there when it happened and just pretended not to know anything ( she later admitted to lying). This is all so crazy and have never heard to such behavior by a restaurant. What is going on here that this worker didn't feel comfortable to tell her manager she made and order wrong. Mistakes happen all the time in the food industry. Supposedly corporate said this man is nice but they need to keep an eye and look at the culture in his franchise. Something smells fishy. A manager of a franchise is supposed to be cool calm and collected not unfair and irate. Tubby's has not righted the wrong and that's ok. All of Marlene's friends and family will by refusing to ever eat at any Tubby's subshops again anywhere. She has a lot of friends and family. We are done.
