Rung was referred to me by a massage therapist whom I used to love going to for Ashiatsu. My…read moreprevious massage therapist works at a spa that is located 30 minutes away from me, so over time the commute felt like a trek. I asked if she knew anyone who offered Ashi in San Jose, and without any hesitation she highly encouraged me to reach out to Rung. I had the most fantastic 90-minute Ashiatsu massage from Rung at Thai west Massage. She is small yet mighty! I prefer deep pressure, and she applied the perfect amount where it felt comfortable and still strong enough for me to feel something. Rung was very attentive to my needs for the day and provided a well-rounded full body massage. I was deeply relaxed at the end of the session, and I also had a better range of mobility in my neck and shoulders. I'm so happy that I was able to find a massage therapist that offered Ashi to my standards. I look forward to coming back and having Rung as my primary massage therapist here on out.

My massage therapist, Daisy, was excellent. She was attentive, skilled, and clearly experienced. After the session, I noticed a significant improvement in the pain and tension in my hands and shoulders -- especially from lifting and holding my baby. We found Sarika on Yelp and they literally have 5 stars (not too many reviews) and thought let's give it a go. Our first visit we requested for a relaxing massage, they said they do Swedish massages and we were like great! However we didn't realize we agreed (in the questionnaire) for the massage therapist to stand on us which was ok but not a Swedish massage, it was a bit much for me and my husband, it turned out to be more of a Thai massage and thought it was our fault since we filled out the form incorrectly. They start you off with a nice foot soak since my husband requested full body massage. For a Thai massage it was good but since it wasn't a Swedish massage it wasn't the relaxation massage we were looking for. Our 2nd visit was another last minute one (Monday night) and we asked for very relaxing 90 min Swedish massage. This massage was like 'oh that feels good' to 'oh no that hurts sooo bad'. It was again more of a Swedish/thai massage even though we specifically requested relaxation (Swedish). I hardly say ouch and I had to say ouch twice. I liked some of the techniques but most of the time it was too hard, fast strokes and a bit messy (especially at the end), like if you're massaging one's head the focal point should start in the middle. At the end of the massage they left our curtain wide open and we are literally naked. I would suggest finding another location if your looking for a Swedish massage. The cost for a 90 min couples massage is $270+. This place has potential. Keep in mind that It is very noisy, you can hear other customers and hear the staff ladies conversing and laughing loudly which is nice that they are having fun but some may not find this relaxing. I wanted to be fair and give a 4 star but to be honest it's more of a 3.5 star (I typically round it off this is why I rated Sarika 4).

I do not think they keep track of appointments and, if they do, I simply cannot imagine how. I have tried texting and the response I get every time is "ok", even if I ask a question in my appointment request. I've tried making an appointment online and the appointment slots are always available and open, which can't be true. While in the salon, I've seen them answer the phone when someone calls to make an appointment, they are always on speakerphone, and I have never seen anyone write anything down after the phone call, they say ok and then just continue to work. Out of the 5 or 6 times I've been here I have only been seen at the time of my appointment once. Once! I am often waiting 30-45 mins and I stay because I have a very tight schedule and make appointments on the only days I can. I'm currently sitting waiting for my 5:00 appointment and it is 5:40 and there are 5 others also waiting, though I don't know what time their appointments are or were. (At 5:06 my manicurist asked me to wait 15 mins and I said fine....but I ended up leaving at 5:45 because she was doing someone's pedicure.) I have always been happy with the services I've received here and their prices are reasonable, which are the reasons for the 2 stars, but I simply will not be back due to their constant lack of respect of "appointment times".
