The cashier was not very welcoming, and when one item could not be found through the receipt lookup, she called the manager over the radio. When the manager (name tag said Chad) arrived, he acted as if he didn't know what was going on even though the situation had just been explained. He then said the issue was that the purchase was over 30 days old, which neither the cashier nor I had been told earlier. His tone felt dismissive and unprofessional, and at one point it seemed like he was mocking me while asking what I wanted to do. In the end, the store did exactly what I had asked from the beginning -- process the return and give store credit. When I asked for the manager's last name, the cashier refused to provide it and only whispered her own name when I asked. I've been a loyal HomeGoods customer for years and even have their credit card, but because of this interaction I will not return to this location.

We haven't had much interaction with contractors (I've taken care of most everything we ever needed repaired or replaced) so we did our due diligence by the book. Of the three quotes we received Steve's was neither the highest nor lowest. References checked out very nicely. I've been in the CNC machine tool business for nearly 20 years and construction for several years prior. I've seen literally hundreds of residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional installations during that time and Steve's workmanship is among the best I've encountered but what really distinguished Steve from the others is his attentiveness. We always received prompt, thorough and accurate responses to all our questions and requests. Even after a long hard day's work, Steve was happy to instruct us in detail on operation of the system. His explanations were clear and consise, easy to understand. He left the jobsite neat, clean and orderly on departure. Prompt, courteous, professional and personable. We could not be more pleased with the results and are happy to say we recommend his services without reservation and will be pleased to use him again. Truly outstanding performance. Sadly, there is a downside to this experience: his services will likely to be in far greater demand next time around so may be a while before we can get him on site. It will be worth the wait.

Their showroom in Geneva actually is made up of their furniture quality cabinetry so that you can see what kind of potential pieces that you may want in your kitchen. They design and draw working with you and your architect to create a one of a kind design that you will just love to cook in. Since old houses are puzzles- putting a new kitchen in that looks like it had been there since the house was built- but has all the modern amenities was my goal. Dan McFadden and his team at Past Basket created an award winning kitchen for me that looks like it was part of the original house. The glass in the cabinets is wavy and old, the pulls on the doors worn looking, the armoire that hides my refrigerator and the cabinets that hide the modern day appliances all are functional as well as beautiful. No detail is too small for this team- in fact- they did such a good job on the kitchen- I also had them make the cabinetry for the family room as well as the master bathroom. They even solved my makeup lighting problem in the bathroom by creating lights that mimic the makeup counters at fine stores. They are also the only dealer for La Cornue stoves in the area. Once I saw one of these french works of stove art- I just knew it would be the centerpiece for my kitchen. Custom cabinetry may not be for everyone. After all- if you are not planning to stay in your home for awhile to enjoy it- there are certainly less expensive options around. But if you love to cook, and love the feeling of fine furniture no matter what room you are in your home- then go to Past Basket.
