Wish I could actually shoot at the place I have a membership for on the weekend. I don't know who thought it was a good idea to hold a match on a Saturday and that the match would take all day. I work all week and I want to come shoot long range on the weekend and I can't because a for some reason it takes more than 8 hours to shoot a black powder match. The fact that a person who has paid to have a membership doesn't have access to all ranges during hours of operation is absurd. I likely will not be renewing my membership next year read more

Been out to several different ranges in and around Tucson. Never has the staff come anywhere near the rude, arrogant and downright nasty people they have running TRC. Didn't give my veteran boyfriend a veterans discount on VETERANS DAY cause he only served 6 years with multiple deployments and became disabled due to the military.... His ID says veteran... Wish there was another place for us to go but we put up with the bs because my bf loves the sport. Thank goodness other customers seen the disrespect and came up to us saying how wrong it was and thanked him for his service. They act like they are too good for people unless you are a police officer then you get your ass kissed. Would've been a complete horrible experience but the kind customers that talked to us made it better... nice to see there are some people with heart left. It just really bothers me how ugly some people can act because no one will stop them ( especially in the gun world ). Hopefully this does some justice. read more

This review hurts to write but im furious and it has to be done. Me and two other friends, one of which drove two and a half hours to get here went to TRC. Me and my friend mike are both members there. On top of that, we have a youtube channel where we have brought plenty of attention and business to this range. We got there at 11am. We requested to shoot on range 1, which is the only available long range they have. The guy at the desk told me "thats not happening." He told me there was a "match" going on and no one can shoot on it. I looked at the schedule and it says the match is at 7AM. Its 11. I said uhh okay? What time are they done? He said they would be done at 12:45-1ish. I was not happy at all but decided to wait. Me and my two other buddies opened the tail gate kicked back and hung out while these 70+ year old fudd boomers were shooting black powder rifles at 100 yards for their "match".. hourse went by and they were still hanging out walking around hardly shooting at this point. It was 1:20 pm.. i went inside asked if we can use the 1,000 yard range cause no one is here just us and these old men. They said they save the range for events even though the match that was supposed to be going on there was also 7am. Not a single living soul was shooting on that range. So i walked out went up to the black powder d*ckheads and asked if they were finishing up. They were packing their stuff up and he began to explain to me they were done shooting but it was going to be another hour for them to eat lunch. That after each match they have a lunch session for the final hour. I asked if since they are just eating we could shoot and they said they wont be wearing ears. Even though my guns are suppressed they said no. I was so furious we just left without shooting after sitting for hours waiting. Its RIDICULOUS. Also from a business standpoint you should host matches on the week days since these guys are all retired old men anyway and use the weekend to make your real money from the customers trying to shoot on their days off. Absurd you would shut the range down for (lets be honest) your old friends and not let your members shoot. I understand if im just walking up and paying just for the day to day no use during the match, but to not let your members shoot is insane. I spent 100 bucks on a membership. Went back out after not being out in almost ten years. Facility is a nice range and the yearly membership they offer isn't bad for $100 for two adults and 2 people under 18. However it doesn't look like anything has been taken care off. Targets have wood splitting on the frames, the yellow and red lines for firing lines are faded and need to be seriously repainted. It doesn't look like much had been taken care of since I had first been out there. The man at the front desk was helpful (I didn't get him name), but was very to the point. He did answer questions and was helpful. After signing in and parking at the spot are the assigned range, the Range officer Mike, came over in his little cart and parked it on the covered concrete right by the picnic tables. He never got off to introduce himself just immediately went on about rules and seemed to have this snobby power trip aura about him. He spoke to everyone as if we were children and had done something to piss him off. While we were shooting, it felt like he was just waiting for us to break a rule so he could throw us out. Never once did he get out of his little cart either. Even when another person broke a rule he sped over and yelled in this man's face from the cart for the whole range to hear. I understand there are rules for a reason, but straight up yelling in a person's face isn't exactly professional or safe. As a Range Officer he definitely could've handled that better. Sad to say, this unwelcoming and uncomfortable experience from the Range Officer means we most likely won't be returning. read more

I've been there 4 times this year and treated very poorly by staff. The range is good, but the staff likes to bully and harass you for made-up non-written rules that they seem to make up minute by minute. Not safety rules, those are good, it the made up ones like when your aloud to exit your car, and charging you for target holders when returning them in the same condition you got them. It seems that the one larger (Range Master) just enjoys bullying certain people. Especially if you are not an older white male. read more

The facility is a nice set up, unfortunately the staff is very rude and made you feel uncomfortable as if you were inconveniencing them, also please put on your website that it is cash only. Good size range and they seem to be constantly improving things. My last range day was just for sighting in a rifle and new scope so we weren't here for long. The lanes we were in appeared to be in the process of getting the old wooden shooting bench replaced with new concrete. I can wait. This will be a great improvement. Only real complaint is the drive out to Three Points. Shop offers a decent selection of targets and a restroom facility. Bring your own refreshments though. read more

A great range setup albeit a bit far from town. Have gone a few times and have no complaints (specific to the facility). $8 military and $15 I believe for non-member. Cash only. 2 stars is a direct result of the staff. Complete goobers that roll around with an air of prestige. Might as well be descendants of the almighty. 4 out of 4 trips have resulted in these guys leaving a negative impression. Three of those were simply me observing them interacting with other customers. Not your normal range safety stuff either-that's reasonable-these old timers go out of their way to let you know who's boss. If you don't mind getting talked down to or treated like you're 4, then hit this place up. We get it. You're the range officer. Chill read more

I have been trying to reach someone at the range for three days. The website is quite out of date. The email in-boxes of many of the officers listed are full. The phone was busy each time I called over three days. It has been a long time since I was a member there and I used to do quite of bit of shooting. I was thinking about joining again but is seems, based on reviews and recent experience, that they'd just prefer to be left alone. read more

This used to be a nice range but customer service has gone downhill over the past few years. The price jumped by over fifty percent to $15 per person but the biggest problem is the range master. I understand about safety and liability as I was an instructor for a major Sheriff's Department but this guy is just flat out rude about it. I went to the TRC with my Grand Daughter and her Fiance. The first shocker was the new price. Then the desk guy vaguely explained the updated myriad rules and regulations. However, they were not posted anyplace! No, they were not just common sense. They were stuff like "Stay in your car if the range light is blinking" and "no movement if the range is cold". I guess I violated one of the rules by loading a mag while the cold range light was blinking. Yes, I was standing behind the safety line. The rude and unprofessional range master came flying over in his golf cart and told me that "I was not allowed to do that and if I broke the rules again, we were all going to get thrown out". Less than an hour later, he yelled at my Grand Daughters Fiance for being in front of the safety line while the cold range light was blinking. However, we were ALL in front of the line because we were changing our targets out. That's why the cold range light was on! I will NEVER go to the Tucson Rifle Club range again! The Pima County Range and the Tucson Mountain Park Range are all better alternatives. Redington Pass and wildcat ranges are good too as long as you clean up after yourself. The Tucson Rifle Club range is a very nice range but to bad it's ruined by the people who work there! read more

Was there less than 5 minutes and I won't be back. First off, walked into the range office and said hello to the person on duty. Knew right away he was annoyed of our presence. Looked up at us, said nothing, and looked back down at whatever was sitting in front of him on the desk. Didn't even bother to speak to us until we asked about getting a place to shoot. "Read the sign" was the only response we got until we located the hidden sign in the window sill. Hardly noticeable and written on a piece of paper. Then he proceeded to berate us for not noticing it right away. Said we couldn't sign in because they don't allow that after 3:30pm. According to the website they are open until 5pm. To make it worse, it was roughly 3:25pm when we walked in. Sorry to ruin your afternoon of being lazy and having you do your job! I didn't even bother to say a thing and walked right out. Our only choice in Tucson for a range longer than 200 yards. I'm a member and I really, really appreciate this long-established club. It has a 1000 yard range, but you'll need at least two shooters, a day selected when the action range adjacent to it isn't being used, and you would do well to make advance reservations. Much easier to access is a 500 *meter* range with silhouette targets at 200, 300, 385, and 500 meters. Atmosphere of this place is perfect, instead of a bit regimented like at the two county ranges where timers dictate official ceasefire intervals. If only it weren't an hour from my home by Sabino Canyon. read more

Customer service is horrible! Do not recommend because of the horrible service from the office. Went in with my uncle, who was looking to purchase a membership. The cashier would not let us shoot because he didn't want us to take to long and make him stay past 5. (Closing time) When asked if we promise to be out by 4:55, he informed us that he will not allow it. Didn't purchase membership, and will not be coming back. This Rifle Club offers a member area, numerous public areas, check in office with shop, military and law enforcement discounts. I'm a regular at Marksmen for my pistol shooting but needed a place to learn and better my rifle skills. Now I have a place where I can shoot both. They have ranges of varying distances and minimums. I love this place. I have only ever come on weekends but it is never crowded and we don't have to wait for a table. All ranges are watched over by several range masters but don't really intervene as long as you are following range rules. They have a range near the front that uses metal gongs and animal silhouettes several hundred yards out for you to shoot at. They also have rifle racks at each range for you to keep your rifles so you don't have to put them in cases when switching between a few. Limited food and beverages so bring waters or snacks since this range is a ways out and if you're like us, you'll be out here awhile. FYI- No Shot guns allowed. read more

My family and I have been to three ranges in Tucson. This is by far our favorite. The drive out from Tucson is relaxing. The range staff is quirky but nice. The shooting stations all have shade. The location is clean and inviting. There are restrooms on site. They sell over 20 types of paper targets onsite. The club annual fee is very reasonable. We have been to this range three times now and will definitely keep going back. Everyone we've met there has been nice. read more

John B, .of Saint Louis, MO seems to have a poor impression of TRC--lots of gripes, but little knowledge of the facility. All ranges have covered shade to shoot from. Water and toilets are provided. The 500 meter Silhouette range is open to members and non-members alike (when scheduled matches are not running) and metal targets are provided. Other specialty ranges are closed to non-members. Membership is $60 per year per family or $10 per person per day. Under 18 free when accompanied by adult. There are no "unaccompanied teenagers". 18 or above years of age constitutes an adult in Arizona wrt range use. Get used to it. My wife and I have been members for about a year. We do a fair amount of pistol shooting together, and I have several older military long guns. The atmosphere at TRC is very relaxed, but there is good emphasis on safety. Each time that I've visited the range I've noticed improvements from the last time. One of the attractive features of TRC is the variety of ranges that are available. There are special ranges for .22 rim-fire, black powder, pistol, and high power rifle. There is also a 500 meter range and a 1,000 yard range If you can't find what you're looking for in an outdoor pistol or rifle range at TRC, then you probably can't find it anywhere. read more

I enjoyed going out to Tucson Rifle Club today. It had been a while since I been out there and the range looked great. I had a great time sighting in a new rifle and shooting an antique chambered model 94 Winchester, 44-40. That helped make my day at the range and topped of with the conversation that I had with the Range Officer. Next time, maybe next week, I will take firearms that I haven't shot in a while. read more

I went to this range for the first time, I drove in and the whole range area looked great and well maintained. The only reason I gave it 3.5/5 stars is because it was a little hard to see the front office sign and once I walked in it seemed slightly unwelcoming but that may be because I'm young, and it seemed like I had to do the talking and find out how to sign in. But after some talking he became helpful and friendly. The ranges are layed out very well, and clean with 3 or 4 separate ranges. And the people shooting couldn't have been friendlier. I noticed that some of the others reviewing this club do not seemed to have actually been there. There are no gongs or animal silhouette to shoot unless you are a club member... regular shooters are not permitted to shoot on "Club" ranges - only the 100 yard range - AND NO OTHERS. But it is correct about the food/water - there is none: no shade, no water, snakes in the bathroom, grumpy people in the office and unattended teenagers shooting where ever they want...but if you have a couple of hours to drive out and back - go ahead. read more

I've been a member here since 2006. It's a great range, the first 3 of which you can use as a NON-MEMBER (John B.) and the first range you see coming in the drive is where I spend most of my time, launching 308 BTHP's at the 500m (550yd) 20-something inch gong. If you can't find the non-member 500m range that's literally line of sight as you drive in you should pick a sport that doesn't involve shooting. Take up something a little tamer, like tearing up well established businesses on yelp. This is an awsome range, I learned 1000 yard rifle here, and for $60 a year it silly cheap... try to get that kind of pricing at the indoor ranges in town. 4/19/2015. I've been a member for many years with an occasional lapse in membership where I paid the daily rate, so I've seen many changes over the years. I doubt I'll renew my membership again. Cost has gone way up and they do not offer single membership anymore only family. But more than that, I'm just tired of running into attitudes and I've been avoiding businesses when I do run into them. I was at the range at noon, wanted to return to check out a rifle and quickly run some ammo through it. I checked the website and it took a lot of searching, not a well organized web site, but I found where it stated you would not be able to shoot if you arrived after 4:30. I arrived at 4:01. I was greeted by a scowl and an unfriendly admonishment that 4:00 was the cutoff but I was allowed to sign in. I let them know that I just checked the web site and it says 4:30 to which I was abruptly directed to a sign amongst many other signs, that stated 4:00. I was under the impression that web sites existed so you could get info without driving out to the place of business. Instead of attitude, I should have heard an apology about the incorrect web site. If I'm not mistaken, it's not the customer's job to maintain the businesses web site. So after all the attitude, I was there, shot and left before any of the other shooters who were already there, left. So what was the point? I don't know, but the result is another lost customer.
