The busses are delayed most of the time, by hours. The buses don't have a scheduled time--they either arrive too early and do not wait for the passenger and depart earlier than their scheduled time; or they arrive too late and make the passenger keep calling customer service back-and-forth to check on the arrival and have the passenger sit for hours just to board their bus. Speaking of customer service--whenever I contacted them, no one speaks English only Spanish speakers. I had to ask one of my friends to get on the call with me for the translation or else I would've been unable to communicate to just get an answer "when is the bus arriving?" This review is based on my recent experience with Tufesa--the bus left early than the scheduled time, and then I had to come back to board another one after speaking with someone on customer service (thanks to my friend for the translation) and that I had to wait another 2 hours to board it. Avoid this company. Bus was 55 minutes late when it picked me up, in a questionable location. Tried calling customer service to ask if the bus was running late did I miss it? But I could not get through to customer service. Based of the comments on here seems like this is very common along with drivers only speaking Spanish. We stopped for a 25 minute break that turned into 50 minutes for no real reason other than driver and passengers relaxing. Then Driver needed to stop to gas up. We made some stops along the way, the bus was super late towards the end meaning the people that were being picked at the end were getting picked up 2 hours late!!! How is that acceptable for any company? I made it to my destination 2 hours & 20 minutes late. Company has potential but it needs to address major issues specifically being on time. Or adding a tracking device on the busses so passengers know there bus is on route just very late. It would decrease there high volume calls to there customer service line. Seats were comfortable, plenty of leg room in comparison to other companies. Tickets all have an assigned seat also helpful in being able to find somewhere to sit. I loss my bus with greyhound so the only choice was Tufesa coming from San Jose to Los Angeles. The conductor was rude I asked him if it was something that he could do bc my phone was in 30% I plug my phone but wasn't charging, plus it was a night, I have to call my family so they can pick me up, he told me no if doesn't work doesn't work. So people traveled long distances and not able to change phones is a tragedy. I give to stars only bc the seats are comfy. I was surprised by the good service. I did not consider this bus before, but since greyhound is super late and said there is no available seats even I bought ticket, I decided to come try this. Even though the location of the office looks shady, the office interior and the staff are friendly and nice. They are pretty organized -- they label your luggages and help you move them abroad. Traveling from LA to Phoenix. Driver spoke only spanish. I speak only English. We stop in Indio. He makes an announcement. Many people get out of the bus leaving their things behind. Meanwhile, I have no idea what's going on. So there I sit for 20+ minutes. Waiting. I don't even know if there is a restroom on board. I dont think that I'll be doing this again regardless of how i expensive it is. And then, driving through the desert. Two lanes in each direction with a ravine separating the 2 directions. It's raining. It's dark. There are no streetlights as we are going through the desert. I happen to look up toward the driver and the entire windshield was COMPLETELY fogged over. I have no idea how the driver kept the bus on the roadway. He eventually pulled over and wiped down the glass about 30-40 minutes before getting into the city of Phoenix. Seriously a scary ride. So I took a bus from Hermosillo, Mexico to Stockton, California. Changed bus drivers in Phoenix and L.A., many excessive stops and delays. On the plus side, comfortable reclining seats and lots of leg room compared to Greyhound, soothing blue night lights along the aisles. Excessively loud TVs playing loud, irritating, dubbed movies. Bus driver refused to turn down volume, which was blasting and made it difficult to relax (note to self: next time bring good earplugs.) Changed bus drivers in Phoenix and L.A. Inexplicable., long layover in downtown LA yard while they cleaned and washed the bus. Horrible choice of truck stop for dinner stop, At a Shell station outside Bakersfield. Let me off @ midnight in a notoriously unsafe, seedy area of Stockton, in front of the Tufesa bus depot. There was a Chevron/McDonalds which was brightly lit a block away, had to drag my luggage there. Bus took a complete 24 hours, midnight to midnight. Three stars out of five. I live in a small town in Arizona, Wikieup. This morning I needed to travel to Kingman. As I usually do I wait to get onto Hwy 93, until both directions are clear of traffic. If I don't see anyone coming, it should be safe to turn onto the Hwy, as the speed limit is only 45 MPH in that area. Today I did just that only to find, looking in my mirror, a bus bearing down on me flashing he headlights at me. Rather then using his breaks he would rather flash his lights, He had to be going 15 to 20 MPH over the posted speed limit to have been on my tail like that. I don't know, but I'm sure ADoT has some Engineers who could figure this out , given the sight distance from my driveway. It was about 8:45 in the morning North bound on Hwy 93, bus #344. If this Dude is your driver, please let him know that real live people are living here. When traffic traveling trough our town takes out one or two people, which it has a few times, this is a significant percentage of our population. Once this bus got through our town, it then traveled 10 MPH over the posted speed limit all the way to I-40. Also ignoring the "Keep Right Except to Pass" signs. I guess this must be alright with the company. The only thing that kept him from being pulled over, was that the trooper had just pulled someone else over before he can flew by. read more

Took a bus from los angeles to las vegas for $10, which is pretty ridiculous compared to the prices from bigger bus companies like megabus and greyhound. That being said, the company definitely isn't as prompt as the bigger bus companies. My bus arrived to the stop about 45 minutes late, and I didn't arrive at the destination until almost an hour and forty five minutes after I should have. Although it's a cheap option, I really wouldn't recommend Tufesa just because it's so unpredictable. The bus is very comfortable, probably more so than the other companies, and for whatever reason it seems like they sold less tickets, so I was able to get my own row to myself. If they could get their buses more consistent with their schedules, this would definitely be an awesome bus service! read more

Traveling by bus seams to be more convenient for me traveling alone to visit San Carlos, Sonora. However, the company makes it impossible for you to purchase your ticket over the Internet and when you call, the person in charge doesn't give you enough information. Therefore, you must go in person to purchase your ticket to find out you need your PASSPORT to buy the round trip tickets. Plus, the person in 'charge' is so RUDE. Your driver of bus 246 needs to be fired I'm driving to 18 wheeler coming through Fresno on 99 10 minutes ago so around 1:25 on July 14th and he wants to go in the fast lane and cut me off with less than two feet between my truck and his bus. I have a dash cam in my truck and the video will be sent to DOT and CHP. This isn't the first time that I've had one of these drivers cut me off that way and I've seen them do it too many other people getting old and I'm going to report every siding now and every time I get them on camera will be sent to DOT and CHP. You might want to find some new drivers and rethink your business ethics. Seeing all the reviews about your company I won't be surprised if before too long you guys aren't nowhere to be found. TLDR: Josue is an extraordinary driver who exemplifies professionalism and integrity. I'll spare you the long-winded review, and just cut to the part that matters. Vegas to LA, with 4 (unexpected) stops, and arrived 1.5 hours late. Yes, I was on edge, but trying my best to stay cool. Thanked the driver, went down to retrieve my suitcase, and...it wasn't there. ... Take just a moment to imagine how you might feel. Yes, I was that angry. After a heated exchange, we deduced that my suitcase was mistakenly picked up by another passenger at a previous stop. Josue immediately acknowledged responsibility, apologized and went to work resolving this. He put me on the phone with a supervisor, helped me write a report, and worked with the station staff to get things moving. They guaranteed me their best efforts, and promised to reimburse me otherwise. Okay, fair enough. I thanked everyone and left. Not 2 days later, Josue calls me personally to report that they recovered my suitcase, AND it's waiting for me down the street. I couldn't believe my ears... I thought for sure that I would never see my stuff again. Went to pick up my suitcase, and yes it was mine. AND, everything was still there. Undamaged. Unfu*kd-with. Totally fine. What's more? My bag didn't have any tags or ID (last time I make that mistake...). I was honestly shocked. What this tells me is that this company has strong character, and sincerely cares about its service and customers. They may not be pretty, and they be easy to criticize, but they're doing their best and thoroughly believe in their mission. Just don't be a dick, and everything will be fine. read more

If you are going to buy the ticket online and you have more than one passenger, remember DO NOT CHECK OUT TOGETHER. Otherwise, you'll get charged more for every additional passenger. If the price is $10 per person, and you choose 4 passengers at the check out. The second passenger will get charged$15, the third will get charged $20, the fourth will get charged $25, which makes the total payment $70. But if you check out separately by choosing one passenger only at a time, you'll save lots of money as for each passenger is $10, and you'll only get charged $40, which is a $30 difference!!! Their unreasonable charging system gives me a very bad mood and experience. There's no alert nor warning nor explaining for that additional charging. And there's no refund nor cancel for you. So be very aware!! I just had this bad experience buying the ticket from Las Vegas to Los Angeles. I wish someone could tell me this earlier so I wouldn't have to get charged for this unreasonable and ridiculous additional price. read more

I am not much of a Yelper but there are times where you need to review a company for the good of the people. This is one of them. I purchased a ticket from Indio, California to downtown LA on New Year's Eve. The bus was scheduled at 4. Only after purchasing this ticket do I receive a disclaimer that the bus may arrive 30 minutes to 4 hours late? In what world is this an acceptable window? I wasn't waiting for an Amazon package, I was waiting for a bus to take me from point A to point B. Long story short, I stayed at point A. While waiting at point A, I called the customer service line three times to inquire about the bus's whereabouts. The initial help options on the phone are only in Spanish FYI. Luckily, I've listened to Shakira for 6 years and have used my high school level Spanish while traveling so I got by. The woman on the other end informed me that the bus would arrive about 1.5 hours late, as it was delayed coming from Phoenix. Fine. I waited. Then, nothing happened. The bus never came. At 6 pm I called again and they said the bus had already left. It had already left without stopping at the bus stop, a stop that I confirmed with the first customer representative I spoke with at roughly 4:07, when the bus was only 7 minutes late. I got a phone number from the customer representative on Sunday [617-853-2101] Don't let the Newton, Mass. phone number fool you! It is an 18+ party line! No thanks! After speaking with another customer service representative, I was advised to email noreply@wanderu.com for a refund. Still waiting for that text back, sweetie! Disclaimer: The customer service representatives are all very friendly and really do try and help, I just don't think the structure is there. That said, DO NOT take this bus if you have any intention of reaching your final destination. I've got to say, this location has perhaps the worst customer ever service I've ever experienced. I can almost never reach them over the phone. If I'm not waiting for the receiver to stop ringing its because my call was disconnected before it after a couple of rings. On the sparse occasions that the phone is answered the ladys at the service desk are down right RUDE and cannot ever seem to supply any information. It seems that bus tickets cannot be purchased ahead of time due to a broken webpage, forcing you to go through their horrendous phone service. The last two times that I've attempted to reserve a seat, I've been told that my only option was to arrive at the bus station two hours before departure and even then a seat would not be guaranteed if the bus arrived already full to Los Angeles. If through some minor miracle you are able to book a bus, please note that this office is located in what many would consider a sketchy area of DTLA. The loading zone is just the sidewalk in front of the office. In short I would definitely not recommend the headache that is Tufesa and instead advise you to book through a more reputable and established business. read more

I noticed that the bus driver didn't check my or anyone else's ticket but I didn't think much of it. It was an evening ride, so I didnt expect much as I just wanted to get home on time. As we got to LA, the bus driver's first stop was at the Futra Net in East LA. We got back on the freeway and I start to get worried because he passed the exit to get to the King Taco location. WTF. He proceeded to drive through a really shady area of Downtown LA and stopped in front of the Tufesa office. Keep in mind that it was now 12am. I start questioning the bus driver and with his limited English told me that "the girl" at the office didn't tell him to make a stop at King Taco. ???????? I was trying to show him my bus ticket but he waved me off and kept blaming the Tufesa employee for his ineptitude to do the easiest part of his job, which is CHECKING THE FUCKING BUS TICKETS. I guess the the good thing about that is that if you want a free ride from Vegas to LA, just jump on one of the evening buses! Seriously, don't be tempted by the cheap prices. we had a 10 minute break in hesperia coming from vegas, came back out and i was stranded. waited an hour and a half for the next bus, had contacted the offices and dispatch telling them that my phone charger and other belongings were on my seat and they told me that the driver had them secured. when i finally arrived at the terminal, they claimed my neighboring passenger stole my things and only turned in my keys and they could do nothing about it. this is embarrassing and humiliating for me. i've never felt more desolate or desperate in such a situation. read more

To start when they were coming to the USA and had to stop for inspection at the border they found out they were drinking and driving and smuggling drugs on the bus. My uncle's were stuck there for 4 hours and couldn't do anything . They never apologized or did anything to help, they are terrible. Be careful. Then on the way back home they to charge one dollar per pound over weight and its allow to have 80 pounds per person, these abusive persons charged them $180 dollars plus some other fees.
