Our church ordered a 50 passenger from this company for our youth retreat and it arrived 3 hours late. They couldn't locate the bus driver the first 2 hours and then claimed later that he had a flat tire (seems to happen very often with this company judging by all the other negative reviews). We had to cancel the dinner we scheduled with our camp site and had to prepare dinner for the kids ourselves on a very short notice. The new bus that they sent was in horrible shape and the driver was not a safe nor proficient driver. He kept checking his gps and swerved off the road several times... What's worse was that on the way back to church we got the same driver, but this time he brought his ENTIRE FAMILY with him (his wife and kids). The driver and his wife got into some spousal dispute on the ride back to church and it was not very pleasant. The company is incredibly unprofessional and untrustworthy. And I hope no one else has to deal with their incompetence like we had to. read more

My wedding day was almost perfect but at the end of the reception, the shuttle got a flat tire. That is not something I can blame the company for - ok, it could have happened to anyone. BUT, the way it was handled by the driver and the lack of response from the company afterward was a HUGE PROBLEM. The driver fought with other vendors, the owner of the venue, some of the guests. She kicked everyone off the shuttle and complained for a good 30 min before calling the company. It was late at night so I think she had problems contacting someone. Finally, she got someone and they said they'd be at the venue with another shuttle in 30 min. They never showed. My guests shuttled each other to the parking lot themselves. I was in my wedding dress conducting traffic and trying to keep the shuttle driver in the shuttle and out of the way. On top of all of this, the shuttle was about 1 hour late arriving that afternoon. I do not recommend this company. Tip to brides out there: ask your shuttle company what their back up plan is if something happens to the shuttle - like a flat tire. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. Im honestly amazed at how unprofessional, ignorant and racist these people are. Despite confirming the arrival time and full schedule for the buses for my wedding in multiple emails to Nina, they were still an hour late to my wedding. They left our guests stranded at the hotel, unable to get to our venue! We ended up having to pay our venue extra for valet and reimburse our guests for Uber's because of their mistake! After all this, the cherry on top was when they charged our card (without our authorization) for an additional bus!! When we called to complain and ask for our money back for the UNAUTHORIZED CHARGE, the worker told my husband he hopes I cheat on him with "a big black dick." I've never worked with a more unprofessional company in my life. We don't want other couples to have to go through what we did so we've reported these idiots to our venue, coordinators, and the better business bureau. Do not use, stay away. I rarely write reviews on yelp, but I'm writing this review to warn anybody considering this horrible company to stay away. We did a turnaround to stateline this weekend and the company charges a $300 deposit if you have drinks or food on the bus. It does state that on the contract, true, but what they don't tell you is that you won't be getting it back. On the way back home Harry, the driver, was driving back so fast he scared a lot of people on the bus. He would swerve and tailgate cars. When we arrived and the all the people had emptied the bus, my wife, family members and I tried cleaning the bus so we could get our deposit back. The driver told us your not getting your deposit back. He said he didn't have time for us to clean it. Even loose trash, he didn't want us to pick it up. My wife called the company and the dispatcher didn't believe that he was driving fast or swerving. Dispatcher also said that bus should have been cleaned before we arrived. Now they're complaining about soda stains, etc, and they want more money. First of all the stains on the seats could have already been there, since we never inspected the bus in morning. The people are very rude and unprofessional. No toilet paper in the restroom. The t.v's are old and loose picture when you hit a bump and the a/c is nowhere to be found when your sitting in the back. Our school has been using this company's services for game days and various field trips. They have always provided friendly drivers that are on time, flexible and patient with our students. On Wednesday, I rode on one of their shuttles to and fro practice and I left my phone on my seat!! I didn't even realize I had left it on there until after 8pm. I had to wait until he next morning to call and ask about it. Nina answered and informed me that the driver had already called in to tell them that he had my phone. They knew I couldn't pick it up until after work and an appointment that I couldn't reschedule so they went above and beyond to meet me at 8:30pm at a near by coffee shop!! The company and the service is nothing but horrible. Rather than spend time describing the whole history. The company and management lack the following: 1. Honesty - They mention the fleet is new and supports 56 passengers. They have one bus the other is 53. They sent me on a 56 passenger bus, but they provided a 53 passenger return 2. Bad equipment - Each bus apparently as working bathrooms, but drivers are requested to notify passengers to not use the resources. The air conditioning does not work on the bus. In our case even the driver even complained that he would not want to work for the company due to the bad equipment. 3. When you call them with the issues, the owner avoids and only works through email to play words. I believe the only thing one can do is complain till the company closes it's doors. All of the 1 stars reviews are true, and others appear to be "bought" reviews. None of my experience was smooth, nor was the bus spacious. read more

I rarely write reviews. I booked this company ignoring the reviews taking a chance that I may have a better experience. Read the negative reviews because it's ALL TRUE. I had no problem with the reservation nor getting my deposit back but the driver was RUDE AND HIS DRIVING WAS VERY UNSAFE. He would swerve the bus purposely and on our way home it was fogging, even then he did not slow down. The day of the event I was told by the bus driver they no longer provide access to the restroom on the bus. He said he would try to stop if we really needed to but would stop in Barstow for all to relieve themselves. We made a stop at breakfast shop on the way up along with the Barstow stop but on the way back no stop in between Stateline and Barstow Nor Barstow to our drop destination. Driver was rude. If you decide to book with this company make sure to complete a walkthrough of the bus because the bus I reserved had a couple of broken items that I notice when loading the bus up but didn't think much of it or thought I would be charged for the items that needed fixing but again I had no proof it wasn't me or my passengers. COMPLETE A WALKTROUGH AND MAKE SURE YOU GET SOMETHING SIGNED OR YOU RECOARD YOUR WALKTRHOUGH. You may end up paying a lot more for the trip than anticipated, I sure did. Not sure what happened to my posting from a few years ago, but just reposting: This is the worst company to book your transportation needs with. They are dishonest, greedy, and extremely rude. I was the groom and we hired this company to "save a few bucks". Unreliable Service: On the day of our wedding, the shuttle showed up almost 1 hour late and we ended up having to adjust our entire time to accomodate this company. Dishonest: At the end of the night, the driver claimed to have a flat tire. But after I spent 2 hours of my time shuttling MY guests in MY car back and forth, the shuttle was "able" to just drive off without any tire changed! I called that evening and they said they were going to send out another shuttle in 30 minutes - they never showed after 2 hours later! Unprofessional: The drivers had no experience driving these shuttles and actually ran into the wall of the venue TWICE! Liars: I called to explain the situation calmly and after numerous calls and complaints was told they did their job completely and would give me a $100 credit towards future business if I was unhappy. $100 Credit? Really!? For spending 2 hours of my wedding day dealing with this crap!? It was a slap in the face. So I have been using this company for years and I just decided to check their yelp... I have to say that I have no idea why this company is not rated 5 stars. I travel frequently with my groups and we always use them for any trip we have. Jacob and Nina are both amazing. They have treated me like family since the first time I ever used their services. It's safe to say all of their drivers (Ricardo, Gary, Sean, Alex, etc.) have all taken us to multiple locations several times. I have not once had a single complaint. Everything was always clean, the drivers have always been great (as drivers and as people in general), and their pricing has always been the absolute best. I would like to say that Nina was very professional and courteous when I decided to book their tour bus. The driver Harry called me a day before the excursion to introduce himself and if any time schedule changes needed to be made. On the day of the trip Harry arrived on time and very helpful toward friends that have disabilities. He was extremely patient with them boarding and exiting the bus. All the passengers were also very pleased with his excellent driving skills during the rain, fog, and especially the night. I attended a turnaround last Saturday to Stateline as I frequently do. However I never heard of a company not allowing drinks or food in the bus unless you give a 300.00 deposit. The host gave the driver the deposit to let us have drinks in the bus. The bus driver told him that he guarantees he would not get his money back. The host took a chance and was picking up every little while on the bus to make sure all was left clean. On our way back home driver was driving very fast and swerving from one lane to another no one was able to take a nap. It was a scary ride home. I've never been home from a turnaround at 9:45 pm. It seemed as he was in a hurry. When the bus stopped we helped the host and his wife clean up any trash,spills left behind. It was left in good condition. The driver told us to stop cleaning and that they always clean the floor with a power wash anyway. The driver told the host he would not get his deposit back because it was left very dirty. The host told him ok then we will continue cleaning and he refused. He said he was running late and needed to leave. The host and wife took pictures to show company how we left the bus and called the company to complain about the driver and deposit. Company still refused to give the deposit back. Turnaround's are made to fund raise and to make $$ on the bus by having raffles/ selling food/drinks . This company collects your deposit and will not return your $$$. STAY AWAY read more

World American (also known as Royal American) provided us with two 'party buses" for a large group of adults from Los Angeles to Las Vegas 4/6/13 (overnight stay). Besides being the most reasonably-priced charter bus service in the LA area, their service was terrific. Taleen, the represtative who handled our case, was a pleasure to deal with...always promptly answering my zillion questions before our trip. The buses were luxurious, clean and the pilots were extremely friendly, prompt and very cautious/safe drivers, which we appreciated. If we ever do another bus charter, World (Royal) American will be the company we'll use. Very thankful for the great experience working with them!!!! read more

Months in advance, we reserved two buses to transport students and their parents to and from LAX and our city (two hours away). The first bus showed up and was great ...the second bus came along and had bald tires and an expired license and two broken out windows (covered by wood boards). One of the Dad's in our group happened to be a CHP and demanded the bus park pending CHP inspection. The Driver who did not speak English ran back to the bus and took off. We had 50 students and parents with no ride to catch flight to LAX. The other bus drive got the owner on the phone. The owner found some scrambled way of blaming us and then he got mad (because of the stress, I raised my voice at him) and then he hung up the phone. My stranded group had to wait 4 hours for another bus company.....we were able to catch our flight. Since he blamed us, we lost our money. This was the worst nightmare any group leader could have. Hello everyone, I highly recommend NOT doing business with this bus rental company. We rented a bus through Royal American Tours & Charters for an event, after they sent us beautiful pictures of the bus exterior and interior. Unfortunately, we were sorely misled. The main point of renting the bus was that we needed to showcase our products on DVD while on our way to various event stops. We specifically asked Royal American Tours to double check the AV to ensure it was working properly. During our event, one of the five TVs would not power up and two displayed in black and white picture only. When the bus pulled up, it not only looked nothing like the pictures, but the bus smelled terrible, the curtain rods were falling down, the upholstery was frayed and THE BUS BROKE DOWN ON THE SIDE OF THE 405 FREEWAY with 45 people on board--21 of them children under the age of 10 yrs old. After waiting on the side of the 405 for over an hour (with no AC) they sent us another filthy bus where the AC also didn't work properly, a bathroom that was out-of-order and falling parts that we literally had to tape to the ceiling so our guests wouldn't hit their heads getting on and off the bus. We had to miss a good portion of our event due to the breakdown. I understand that mechanical failures and delays happen, but Royal American refused to take responsibility for misleading us on the condition of the bus. In fact, they threatened to charge us a cleaning fee--I'm not sure how we were to dispose of our trash on the side of a major freeway. We were also told that we should have planned our event better to account for an hour and half bus breakdown. Royal American's customer service made a bad situation even worse and that is the #1 reason (after everything else) that this company earned a negative review. Poor customer service, especially in this situation and in this economy, is unacceptable. read more

This has been the best charter bus company that we have ever used, I am surprised at all of the bad reviews that they have gotten, we have used their services plenty of times and it has been an incredible trip every time. I decided to create a yelp account just to mention that there are plenty of people that have been satisfied with Royal American Tours, I mean they have always been on time with professional drivers and a friendly staff that we do not even want to concider another company. There have been times when we have tried to get quotes from other companies just to compare prices but even when we got lower prices we did not use another company due to the lack of professionalism from other companies. These people have 24 hour dispatcher, we always get a call back within minutes, they have always solved any problem within a normal range of time, we understand that any vehicle can have a problem the important thing is that they solve any problem at a timely manner. read more

Do not use this bus company! The bus was supposed to be 2 to 3 years old, it was 7. The shades were broken and he blamed the broken toilet on us, we had been on the bus for a day. The air conditioning didn't work. The bus driver was the absoulte worse EVER!! He was rude, unfriendly and treated us like 3 year olds. He did not help people on or off the bus. I didn't help with luggage. Isn't that his job? He either sat in his seat or jumped off to smoke a cigarette. Once he pulled into a parking lot for us to get a bite to eat, he jumped off and sprinted to the restaurant leaving us to get off the bus by ourselves and the bus was left running and open. Then the next day we were on our tour in the middle of no where and he shut off the bus and locked it with a elderly lady on board with the temperature in the 90's. After we complained AGAIN about this driver, his boss said he can't leave the bus open or running if he's not there. Hmm, what about the night before when it was left open and running for 20 minutes? I was constantly hitting my head on the seat ahead of me, for he slammed on the brakes and then would speed off as if in a race. I couldn't wait for this trip to end. We always prresent our drivers with an additional tip and a gift....needless to say we didn't even speak to him let alone give him any extras. Again, don't use this company. read more
