Avoid a shed tragedy and look elsewhere. This company is a prime example of what happens when sales volume becomes more important than customer service; a common denominator for Home Depot installation partners. Their crew installed the shed poorly, leaving huge gaps at the door and along the floor throughout, missed studs with their nails, destroyed trim, failed to clean up after the job and broke a sprinkler housing lid. They came back to repair the door and trim, but simply adjusted the door to move the large gap to the bottom instead of the top. I sent an email asking them for suggestions on how we seal the gaps, since I didn't mind doing some grunt work to get the job done. They never responded. read more

So, at the state fair I looked at a shed that was on display and it looked pretty nice. I ended up getting a flyer and calling the Tough Sheds number listed. Pretty nice guy took my order. We talked a bunch about how I wanted to get my riding lawn mower out of the garage, so he upsold me to reenforced flooring and double doors to accomodate the riding lawn mower. I also got lifetime shingles, etc. The total bill was over $4,000. Maybe a bit more than I would have expected, but I figured I was getting a big nice shed. The install day was actually great until the very end, when there was no ramp. I inquired why, and they said I needed to order a ramp. So, I call Tough Sheds and talk to a couple people eventually talking to the guy who called to confirm the order prior to install. I told them I was upset. Basically, I was made to feel like an idiot for not ordering a ramp. Then, they charge me $400 more for the ramp, which was full price. No one ever said sorry or even acknowledged that maybe someone other than me did anything wrong. They said they would hopefully get to it that week, but it was not an install, so it wasn't high priority. Smirk. Now, that $400 ramp was for a full ramp to cover the entire entrance to the shed, which included 6 board sections and was stated on the additional invoice. They never let me know what day or time they were coming for the ramp install, so I wasn't home. My mom was and they checked in with her, but left without saying a word. The ramp that was installed had 2 movable sections, so it could only cover a portion of the entrance. I think the idea is that you can space out the 2 boards to drive in and out. Anyway, not what I ordered and paid for. I sent a strongly worded email this time (you know when you get that feeeling you need to have a paper trail) I got an email response from a supervisor. He did apologize, but then gave excuses for everything and informed me that the sales person I talked to was from Home Depot, so they couldn't be help responsible for that portion. He says they will bring and install the ramp I actually paid for and refund me $150. My service has been a definite 1 star, but the shed does seem very nice so I was generous with the 2 stars. I am afraid of what might happen should I ever need to get service for the life time shingles under warranty. read more

I purchase a two door Sundance 12x12 storage shed at Home Depot in Plymouth, MN from Tuff Shed. It was not installed to spec, the installers ripped up my lawn. The shed was not leveled properly. Instead of a lock that I had purchased they installed a latch with a bolt. Both Tuff Shed and Home Depot were extremely negligent in response to my situation, it took Home Depot a month to finally persuade Tuff Shed to resolve the issue(s). Ten months later the doors will not shut properly and the material on the doors where the handle and lock are disintegrating. I've made two calls to Tuff Shed regarding this issue, I was not able to get through on either calls to the warranty department and no one has replied to my voicemails. I spent over $6000 for this; it's not the money, it may not be a lot of money to some, but or others $6000 is an investment into their property, its Home Depot and Tuff Shed lack of accountability and customer respect that really grates me. Be forewarned and beware, maybe you might receive a different outcome, somehow I don't think so. read more

We went to Tuff Shed with no ideas or plans for a shed, we just knew we needed one. Jon took a lot of time walking is through the options and we built the exact shed we needed and that fit our house. They were able to match our color and the shed looks great! We were very impressed with all of the commutation we had with them through the process and there were no surprises. Home Depot (retailer) and Tuff Shed(product) refused to stand behind their product when the soffit warped and caused a hole from water damage in the roof boards. Two building contractors concurred that the Tuff Shed was manufactured poorly(new product now has upgrades) and assembled not according to best practices. I will no longer patronize them again. read more
