We had taken every car in our house to this location for over 10 years. It seems to have gone downhill. They told me I needed new tires and I went to Costco, bought tires, and they wouldn't put them on because they said I didn't need them! Then, Tuffy told me I had an oil gasket leak (quoted me $435), I took it down the road to Auto Spec and they took me under the car- no leak at all. Be careful, the philip, the guy at the reception can overcharge you. If you get an estimate from them please make sure that you are taking some time to do research and ask for estimates from other auto repair shops. In my case I was charged at least more than $300 than the official Toyota. Moreover, I was charged for materials that I provided and I should be charged only for labor. Also they added a ridiculous surcharge for "shopping" for the required parts. But unfortunately I found everything out when the work was done. So please don't believe them. Philip agreed to refund $220(that's why 2 stars review instead of 1)for overcharge and mistake charge for material that I brought. But I still believe that at the official Toyota in general I would pay much less than at tuffy. I also brought their ad voucher for a 10% discount for any work that was over $300" but he refused to provide the discount, it's about $150 that I could get for my ~ $1500 bill with them. As Steve Jobs used to say: " One more thing" - when I told Toyota about my car and what was done - they told me that most likely I don't need half of replacements that was done by a tuffy. So probably I lose even more money than I think. Bottom line: BE CAREFUL and take your time to make sure that you will not be overcharged and make sure that you really need the work that they are offering. I don't know about the other brands but if you have a relatively new Toyota - it's much better to go to the official Toyota for repairs. read more

Came here with a 24.95 oil/filter coupon, and was quickly told the price will be $31.95 - usually places like this wait until after they do the service to tack on shop fee etc.. oh well not a huge deal. Appointment time no longer means much had to over an hour and fifteen minutes. The waiting area is pretty nice, with iPhone chargers, TV, and coffee. They told me I need new belts for $170, I later took my car to my Lexus/Toyota specialist - belts were fine ugh!?!?! I was hoping to find a low-cost reliable place for oil changes and basic work, the search continues. This place can be busy! However, Tuffy works with the consumer and the is an option to drop off your car. They also offer rides. Additionally, there's the option to make an appt. so you can schedule it into your calendar. If you do choose to wait in the store, there is ample seating and free coffee and water. One thing I really like is that it is comforting to be able to see your car and what is going on with it when in service. Staff are also friendly and helpful when it comes to answering any questions. From what I saw, first the car goes on a lift and the servicing tech will inspect underneath your car to look for leaks, etc. This is also when the oil is drained and the filter is replaced. A standard oil change service also includes a free balance and rotation for tires. Additionally, the tech will check your air pressure in the tires and replenish the air as necessary. I've been going to this Tuffy's for a year or so and apparently their management changed. I went in to get my passenger window fixed. They managed to break the door and say that "the door panels are kinda tricky". Um isn't that your job? After trying to figure out the problem, they brought my car out to me where the door wouldn't even open, so they took it back to fix it, then brought it out and the door lock was not working and my door panel wasn't on correctly. Then they took it back again to fix it and the door still wasn't sealed back on. I said "give me the keys, I'm taking it somewhere else." After taking it to another car repair place, they told me that Tuffy's had lost a screw to the door and broken the plastic pieces that hold the door back on. I"m so furious and will never go to Tuffy's again or refer anyone to them at all. read more

I dropped my car at 8:30AM for an oil change and tire rotation. I had some plans later the day which requires some extra miles. The frame I got offered is one person ahead of you for just the oil change then 45 minutes max, been told that within an hour we should done. I dropped my car went to do some personal business and got back at 10:38 AM to pick my car in an UBER. The front desk told me we didn't even touch your car because people made appointments so we give them preference. You were a non appointment person. Waste my time and $ for driving my car to this shop for nothing. Lesson learned - do not go to this shop. read more

First of all I want to say that Yelp needs to delete the reviews from when this location was Car Rx. This is a COMPLETELY new business so all of the bad reviews on here are VERY misleading to the consumer. Second to the lady on here that needed air in her tires and gave a bad review....there's an Exxon right next door with an air machine so learn how to do things for yourself and quit giving bad reviews because you are lazy. On to my review....I went for my yearly inspection and was extremely impressed with the cleanliness, and most of all customer service. The owners were both present and very accomodating. The manager, Robert has always been very knowlegable and great to deal with-he's been there for a long time. Took my car in today because my check engine light came on. I recently moved here from Michigan and was intimidated by trusting my car to someone new but the staff at Tuffy's did a fantastic job. I came in right when they opened around 7:45, received a call around 8 with a diagnosis and pricing, then received a final call at 10:30 with everything fixed and good to go. They also generously gave me a loaner car for the duration of the repair which was so useful. After consistently bringing my car in for service here. I feel the customer service is lacking and I am questioning if I will continue to come in for service. This morning I had an appointment for 8 am. When I walked in the gentleman with the glasses and another with a beard looked at me and continued to work on the computer without saying anything to me. I've been getting my car serviced here for about 2 years. It's really disappointing the service counter experience has changed so much in a short amount of time. There was a gash on my tire and I pulled into Tuffy's as it was the nearest tire place. It was getting late on a busy afternoon but they were so kind and patient. A service advisor took time to explain the pros and cons of replacing just the damaged tire vs both front ones, helped me choose replacements, and put on my spare tire for me. They were also able to get me on the schedule for the following morning. While my new tires were being installed, I overheard many other customers being helped, again with patience and empathy. Can't say a single bad thing! Sticker Stop was insanely busy, so I moved over to Tuffy's. Service was quick and efficient and everyone on site was wearing a mask. Everything was said and done within half an hour. I went to Tuffy's first and was told that they could not do a inspection cause it was raining and didn't want to be liable is something happened.... Ok, I've never heard that before but I get it. Then they continued to complete an oil change since that's what my car told me it needed. 30 minutes goes by and the front desk guy comes up to me and says that they can't finish the oil change because the oil was so low that the vehicle was knocking when I came in and if they do it and the vehicle is damaged afterwards they would again be liable... all they could offer was to top it off and send me away! I used to work in the car business and I've never heard of a quick lube place passing on a chance to make money. I was blown away that I was just asked to leave. I went right over to Jiffy Lube and was In and out in 20 minuets with an oil change and inspection! Go to Jiffy Lube, you won't regret it! read more

Came in to get my brakes inspected because they were just starting to squeek and I had had a good experience with Tuffy's previously. This time though I came in at 8 a.m. (this first appointment time I was told) I didn't hear anything from them for over an hour and when I came to inquire on the status I had an estimate written up for $700! The estimate was only for pads not even including the rotors. I had them repair a broken light only and didn't end up getting out of there until about 11:30. A friend had then referred me to E&T automotive in Round Rock and after all the rave reviews about their honesty, workmanship and price I made an appointment. They took a look at my car and said only the front brakes really needed to be fixed. They replaced the front brakes, resurfaced the rotors, and then some and left only paying $200 and was out of there an hour sooner. I was very displeased by the Tuffy's mark-up. A little clueless on how much things cost but, the man assured me it cause he usually works in the back obviously a manager of some sort. I have decided to write this review providing the events that took place and let you decide on how it was handled. I have used this location for oil changes and small repairs in the past. I brought my Toyota 4 Runner in for an oil change, state inspection, possible tire replacement and headlight upgrade. I had a 9:30 AM appointment. After dropping off, I did get a call saying my tires needed to be replaced, and they quoted a price on the recommended tires. I agreed on the price, knowing I could shop around, but honestly it wasn't worth it to me. My vehicle was there, and they could get it done. I approved the bid for this and the lights (along with the other work). At the end of the day when I called to pick up, I was told they needed to keep it overnight and it would be done first thing in the morning. I received a call at 9:30 AM the next morning saying it was ready for pick up. I went in at 1:30 to pick up. After paying $1,800 they told me the State Inspection wasn't done because they had to disconnect the battery to install the new lights. The battery had to be "reset" by driving 50 miles, and then the inspection could be done. I left it with them so they could do this. I was going to pick up the vehicle that evening. There was a mix up and the keys were not left in the vehicle for me to pick up, but the truck was unlocked. I drove home and got my spare, went back to the shop and locked my truck. I called first thing the next morning and they acknowledged the mistake and said it was ready to go. I couldn't get by right then to pick it up, so my partner went by and picked up the key so we could get it later that day. When I did get by that evening to pick it up, my check tire light was on. This was strange since I had 4 new tires, and they just drove my vehicle 50 miles to reset the battery, so they must have also seen this. I got home and checked my tire pressure. While checking the pressure I saw the word "inside" staring at me. I realized they mounted the tire backwards. When I looked at the other tires I had 3 mounted with "inside" on the outside and 1 tire mounted correct. So, I had directional tires going in different directions. I had to call the first thing the next morning. They agreed over the phone they had never had this happen and wanted to bring my vehicle back in and take a look. I could go on with several more details, but the end was, yes, they mounted 3 of the 4 tires backwards. They admitted this and that it was an honest mistake and wasn't dangerous. My question and concern was, if I hadn't checked my own tires, when would it have been discovered? And, how if this was your job every day, you wouldn't notice the words "inside" or "outside" as you worked with all 4 tires? There was no real answer. They did correct the mistake and had my car cleaned for my hassles. read more

I had a screw in one of my tires and went here as it was the closest shop. I got there a little before it opened hoping I could be first in line. Time comes for the shop to open (7:30) and no one is there. Around 7:45 an employee walked up and looked confused, sat down by me but didn't say anything. I had to ask when the manager was showing up to open up and he said he was the manager, but was new and didn't have the keys, and didn't even know who had them. He starts sending texts, it's already 8am now, but never makes an effort to communicate with me what's going on. I had to get to work so I really needed to know if it was worth waiting for the person to show up. By 8:30 he had no more knowledge and seemed to think the situation was kind of funny. Other customers were waiting in the parking lot. I called Lamb's and they said they could see me right away (and actually did, like professionals). Maybe they're good when they're actually there, but I'm never going to bother with them again. Plenty of other options. read more

I did not have the best service with this place. First off, I called the business ahead of time as I was having issues with my Tire and thought the TPMS sensor was needing to be checked. The person I spoke to sounded like it shouldn't be a big deal to get me in and out of there and have the tire looked at. This all sounded great! When I got there it was a different story. When entering the place the first thing I noticed was the person at the desk was not wearing any mask (I thought businesses were mandated to wear them but I guess they didn't care). The person took my information and went out to my car. I explained again the problem I was having and the person told me "oh, it is just because of the fluctuation of the weather that is causing the air to go down in the tire" I explained to him again that I understood that could happen but I found it a bit alarming that only one of the tires was much, much lower then the other ones which is why I thought maybe there was a nail in there or the TPMS sensor was bad. The guy literally said to me "Look, I am not a scientist" - he said to just pull into one of the Bays and they will fill up my tires with air. I pulled into the bay and the mechanic was nice and able to fill up my tires for no charge. I asked him if that was it or if anything else was needed and he said to me "nope, that was it" - So I got in my car and drove off. I will be looking for another place from here on out. The one star is for the nice mechanic and that is pretty much it. Avoid this place. read more

Do not take your car there. They charged me 1700 to fix my AC. Then called and stated it would be another 1000. They replaced parts that didn't need to be replaced. I called the corporate office and they were not helpful. She didn't understand I wasn't complaining about the price i was complaining that it was missed diagnosed my vehicle. $1700 and my AC is stil broke. read more

They soiled my interior and totally failed at their job !! The fact that I'm going out of my way to write this review means it's BAD. I scheduled an oil change 2 days ago for 9am this morning. I expected to be in and out, which Is why I made the appt. When I get there, 7 minutes before 9, I am told my car won't be done til about 10:15. I accepted but 10 minutes later came back in and said I couldn't wait that long. I just need an oil change. So we nixed the tire rotation, fluid check up and usual inspection. LAME. But whatever. When I got my car back, I left and went to the gas station, and then noticed grease marks all over the driver's seat and door panel. I called them and immediately took it back. There were multiple obvious grease stains, including a fat thumb mark where the tech pushed off of the seat apparently, but still the owner wanted to argue with me about the streaks on the seatback. I told him I work where there is construction in the parking lot, and my car is dirty, but I pointed 4 places where it was oil/grease, and clearly not dust or dirt. I wuestioned him about why a mechanic at 9am is getting into cars like this. It was a very unpleasant interaction with the manager trying to pass of some of this, even throwing it back at me because I said I was going to get it cleaned today (but that does not mean grease and oil !!) It get's worse -- their best fix was to insist on taking my car to the back where they could clean it with Tuff Stuff upholstery cleaner. It took them about 10 times as long as it should have, and then they drove my car back around, this time with a plastic seat protector on the seat. He got out and I looked it over, and noticed there was STILL grease on the door panel and seatback. I fought tooth and nail to get him to just come back up there witha blue shop towel or something and finish it up, because he STILL wanted to take it to the back. But, he finally went to get a microfiber towel (What?? No shop towels??!!) and when he was gone I saw that the plastic seat cover like a trash bag) had VISIBLE WET OIL ON IT !!!! It was the color of vegetable oil - new oil, and went for about 4 inches at the edges of the bag. I showed it to him when he got back and asked why this bag with visible wet oil is on my seat. Got no answer. He wasn't the manager, and I was fed up anyway so here is the review. I didn't get out of there til almost 10:30, with no tire rotation, no fluid check, no general inspection that comes with oil change, and $70 later (for 3.5qts of oil) and a soiled interior from terrible techs !! Needless to say I will never be back and you should not go there. PS another lady came in for an oil change and they told her about an hour and a half, but when she got to the counter, that immediately turned into a 1.5 to 2 hour time quote. STAY AWAY unless you like wasting time and having your car ruined from incompetent techs. read more

The sign out front says synthetic oil change $24.95. I walk in and say, that's what I want. Observe below how subtly the slight of hand worked so smoothly to hit me with a bill for over $95.00. Me: I want the special mentioned on your sign. [Bait] Attendant: Oh, the synthetic oil special. Me: Yes. Attendant: "You want the Mobil One SYNTHETIC?" [Switch] Me: Yes, synthetic (thinking that the Mobil One was the one referred to on the sign. Heck, how would I know it was a different product?). When I got the bill, I pointed out afterward that there was a huge difference in price. The attendant seemed to justify the switch by giving me $10 off (geeze, it would have been a $100 oil change!), saying I asked for the Mobil One Synthetic . . . and besides, it was the same oil I had last time. (Boy, I don't learn, do I?) When will these auto places grow up and behave? There was not even an attempt to sell me on the benefits of the upgrade--because then I would have known the switch was on. What other business types can get away with this? That being said, I will go to QualTech for ALL by maintenance from now on--even the oil. Did not realize ownership recently changed as they did a great job for years. I made an appointment to have my car fixed. It sat there all day until a phone call came in that I needed a bunch of work so I authorized it to done but later got a call they couldn't find the parts so I came & got my vehicle. I was told they would call me when the parts arrived & after 4 days of waiting I called the front desk guy & he said "sorry man" where pretty busy up here & you never paid for the parts! Well I wasn't asked to pay for the parts sir....He tried to blame me again & again which was a joke when he clearly said he had them on order. I told the guy ok guess I'll take it somewhere else at this point even after being a loyal 6 yr customer & this guys worked there 6 months. They go above and beyond to explain the issue I'm having with my vehicle, and I never feel pressured into doing unnecessary work like other places in the area. I got to hand it to these guys, if your a customer of theirs then you feel like your almost part of a club or family when you go and see them. They speak to you in a helping and casual manner that always puts me at ease. The last time I came in it was because I had had someone do a transmission fluid change but my tranny was shifting at weird points afterwards, so I took it to tuffy to check out and I told me my fluid was way too low, he filled it up with the expensive synthetic stuff and sent me on my way for no charge. read more
