Ate here for the first time yesterday, I ordered the Pad Thai and boom boom roll. The pad thai was pretty decent, but the sauce was a little heavy for me and it needed some heat. I really enjoyed the sushi roll though. Look forward to trying more menu items next time. read more

I love Thai food!!! Today I ordered the Pad Thai and it was sooo sugary!! I used about 7 lines to try and cut the sweetness, but it was just not good. Quality was fine, but from an ingredients perspective, waaay off. We also ordered Poke and it was completely tasteless. No flavor at all. The fried rice was good. Will changed how this whole review is turning out. I've eaten here plenty of times and while my order is customized, it can be easy to get it wrong. The manager was not understanding in no way that it could be the error of the employee and to point, wanted me to absorb the cost to remake. Will was understanding and offered to correct the issue. I have been wanting to try this place. I had time to grab a quick lunch and so glad I came here. I ordered the Tuna Crisps and the Spicy Beef Salad. The Tuna Crisps was a bowl of fried wontons served with a portion of minced marinated tuna. While the Crisps were on the small side, they made for fun eating. You won't finish the crisps with the tuna but who could mad about have fried wontons to snack on? The Spicy Beef Salad wasn't spicy for me but it was delicious. There is a condiment station if you desire to personalize your heat level. The salad was well seasoned and tasty fresh. Portion size was adequate and was great with the leftover wontons. Service was friendly and helpful. The woman who took my order informed me of the specials and offered to personalize it for me due to a food allergy. This was my first experience dining in at this place, I've ordered takeout before. I dined in with my mother who has a severe shellfish allergy. We ordered our food at the counter. Mom got the coconut soup and asked if anything was fried (can't eat anything fried in the same oil as shellfish) and they said it was not. We did inform the person at the counter that she had a severe shellfish allergy when we ordered. We sit down and eventually the food comes. Her soup is covered in fried tofu. So we ask the brunette waitress who delivered the soup if it was fried because of her allergy. This woman responded in the most chastising and aggressively condescending tone with "Well.. did you tell them at the register you had this "allergy"?".. we responded "yes..". Thankfully the gentleman who took our order was there to defend us. The brunette server then told us it was fine and stormed off. The food was mediocre at best. We miss Surin but this is the next best thing. Is it authentic Thai? No, but we aren't looking for authentic Thai. The pad Thai has more sauce than Surin did but still enjoyable. If you like a lot of meat, they are very generous with the chicken My favorite roll is the double shrimp roll. It was a Surin staple that I started eating at their Birmingham location years ago and I love it. The last couple of times we have eaten at TukTuk Boom, the sushi rice was a tad Al dente but I'm sure it was an oversight on their part. I ordered the spicy beef noodles (they were yummy but I removed the hot tomatoes and green beans (the hubs doesn't eat those). I got the poke bowl, they only have one on the menu so it's that one or nothing at all. It was ok. I'll have to go to an actual poke spot for that in the future. I got the crab angels (Rangoon), they only give you four little bite size puffs for $7 but they were ok I wish there was duck sauce instead of that watery sweet and sour sauce and I got a kid's size fried rice $7. I know I saw it for $4 online but the cashier said the other size is $11. I only wanted to try it so I got the kid's size. Glad I didn't get the larger size, it had this weird crazy taste to it, I know I wouldn't ever order it again. I guess I was expecting some hood Chinese food that's full of flavor and too much artery clogging oil, but what I got was bistro Chinese food. I had the shrimp and asparagus bowl, which was perfectly cooked and seasoned for my taste, though if it were not there is a spice bar to heat up your spices if you choose. Rice is served on the side, which is a nice touch so that you can add as much as you want. VERY fresh tasting food. Had a very nice inexpensive glass of red blend to go with it. Service was both pleasant and efficient. Prices are reasonable. Pickup window so you need not come inside for take-out orders. We got a rainbow roll to go and it was delicious, a clear cut above what I have gotten from other sushi vendors. read more

This establishment is a newer place located in Highland Village. The service was very friendly and welcoming. The building and environment is very nice looking as well. I tried the Pad Thai which included noodles, eggs, green onion, chicken, and shrimp. The dish included only 2 shrimp and was mostly filled with chicken. However, it was very tasty. My girlfriend got the Thai Fried Rice which was an ensemble of rice, shrimp, onions, and eggs. This dish was a highlight as the flavors blended together to create a really great rice/meat meal that is hard to find in the Jackson area. They also serve sushi which I'm eager to go back and try. Therefore, I will most certainly be frequenting this place more often, and I'd definitely recommend this place as a lunch spot or even dinner, as they provide a different culinary experience that I think is very unique to this area of Jackson. read more

I can't even rate this! Been here many times and order the shrimp and asparagus. I picked up around 12:30. I had to drop my granddaughter to school. It is now 1:46, sat down to eat what I purchased and its not edible because it is full of oils. Called the manager to say I could not eat this and could they make another. Her response was yes, but I will have to charge you for it. Then she says if you don't eat it right away. It's causes a separation of the oils. So if you buy from them make sure you eat it as soon as possible. But you might want to think about what you are putting in your body before the food separate within an hour. read more

We stopped here for lunch on a long drive. It's not far from the interstate and we are so glad we did! The location is in a cute shopping plaza (parking can be hard to find because it's a popular area). However, the food itself was delicious!
