Great service, delicious food! We were seated promptly by the young woman who was running around multi tasking very efficiently. The food came out quickly we ordered the ginger stir fry with brown rice and the drunken noodles both with shrimp. The drunken noodles had a medium spice level very tasty and the ginger was just the right amount of gingery. Lots of shrimp too and the veggies tasted fresh. The menu is huge and would definitely recommend checking it out-they do lots of takeout but the inside was charming too. read more

None of that "hot" but really it's barely mild. Nope. Hot is hot! I love it. Now the criticisms: soup could use more lime. Seafood combo, delicious, though 1 mussel, 1 scallop, 2 shrimp and a few pieces of squid. The fact that I can count the pieces of seafood on one hand is sad. But delicious, thus forgiven. We stopped for dinner in this university town on our way back after peak fall sightseeing in October. It was a cold evening, and we craved some good, warm Thai food, and this place did not disappoint. On the main street, tucked away in a basement, this restaurant was full at 6 p.m., with many takeaway orders waiting. We found a place to sit quickly, and in spite of only two servers, food came in fresh and fast, too. It was nice to see young crowds in groups enjoying lots of food and chatter about studies and social life without being too noisy. The summer roll was fresh as ever, and the peanut sauce lip smacking delicious. But it wasn't warm so we waited for our soup. We shared a coconut milk based chicken soup which seriously warmed our souls. The crispy chicken basil specialty dish was prepared medium hot but I felt it a bit spicy for me. My partner found it perfect and saved some for next day lunch. Both of us absolutely enjoyed the crispy-est chicken!! It went very well with the veggies, the sauce and the rice. This restaurant is located in the basement of an old building in downtown Hanover. There are two dining rooms and a third small eating area near the door. The appearance is old, but clean. The restaurant appears to do a large takeout business. There was only one other table occupied when we stopped for lunch. The service was very good and I ordered a bowl of spicy hot and sour Tom Yum soup with tofu. My wife ordered the cashew delight with tofu. Our order arrived fairly soon and both were on the small side compared to other Thai restaurants. However, the size was appropriate for lunch. My soup had an excellent flavor. It was in fact spicy hot and sour as advertised. My wife said her dish had excellent flavor as well. We will keep this restaurant in mind the next time we cone to Hanover. read more

There is decent street parking on the street. The location is a little hidden in an alley and is in the basement. The restaurant is a little dated but is clean and had some nice decor. It was a busy night and service was still good. The portions were okay and the food was good. The curry had good amounts of chicken and vegetables, I would ask for a higher spice level next time. Pad see ew and papaya salad were way too sweet. I've ordered these in other thai restaurants before, but here it tastes like too much sugar was dumped in it. Papaya salad just tastes like sugar and fish sauce, very watery and flavorless. Little overpriced for the portion sizes too. Server was also on her phone reading messages while seating me, didnt make eye contact. Besides that service is ok. The place is nice though, good size tables and nicely decorated. That said, we are from NYC and Sydney and are accustomed to very good Thai food. So if you don't have high standards for Thai food, it's probably fine for you given the other reviews. We ordered different dishes rather than sharing family style. The servings were truly one serving size. The green curry with tofu was fine - wish there were more eggplant pieces. I ordered medium spice level but caught a hot pepper and dang it was HOT! My friends got the udon, which was good - I would echo with a different review that it was a bit on the oily side. An average college campus Asian restaurant. The location is great. The food isn't so. On a Friday night, we stopped by to have dinner. Crispy tofu and chicken satay to start. Tofu was hot but the satay was not fresh off the grill (do they ever make them to order anymore?). For our mains, we had green curry, spicy udon, and pineapple fried rice. The udon was the only dish that came from a hot wok. It was spicy but a bit too oily. The fried rice was warm so probably microwaved. We couldn't taste the pineapple and the rice was soft. The green curry was way too salty so there was no way that I' was going to pour that onto the lukewarm rice. Maybe it was the start of an off season because the school year is over but I would never find out how it is like during the school year as I was just passing by Dartmouth. read more

The deep-frying makes the bones extra crispy and EDIBLE!!! The dish did not include the thigh, drumstick or wing... all of my favorites... the moist/juicy dark meat. $28. The potstickers were just okay...$8. With tea, tax and tip, the bill for one came to $50. good thai food in hanover! the restaurant was located down the stairs and we were able to find it okay. there were many dining rooms to walk through to get to their main seating area. we got the all in one combination apps to share and some of them were better than others. it was a bit greasy to have them all, so i would recommend choosing one or two of the appetizers instead. the drunken noodles were great, tasted fresh + good spice level! the pad thai was pretty good as well. read more

A decent Thai restaurant. Good for lunch. Even though this is not far from Tuck School of Business, the name Tuk Tuk bears no relationship. A Tuk Tuk is an automated rickshaw popular in Thailand. We really enjoyed the appetizers and their sauces. We started with fresh summer rolls (#1), comes with 6pcs. We did not specify that we wanted shrimp so we got vegetable, but it was still good. The peanut sauce was amazing. We also ordered Thai vegetable dumplings (#3), comes with 8 pcs. This was not what we expected but was the hit of the meal. The sweetened soy dipping sauce was addictive. For entrees, we ordered the stir fried eggplant basil (#31, no picture, sorry), crab fried rice (#54), and the crispy chicken pad Thai (#44). My wife made her eggplant disappear really quickly so that's a good sign that she liked it. I liked my sample of my son's crab rice, but I did not like my pad Thai. The crispy chicken was crispy but over-fried. The dish had an odd stinky tofu odor to it. I've definitely had better pad Thai before. I found the portions on the pricier crab and pad Thai dishes to be small and thus not a great value for the price. Probably 20-25% overpriced. read more

We ordered 4 different items from the menu, all of which were prepared with fresh ingredients and were delicious. The portions are generous, and the prices are reasonable. Tuk Tuk is by far my favorite restaurant in Hanover! Whenever I want to escape the dining hall here at Dartmouth, Tuk Tuk is my go to for sure. Be aware though that sometimes it can take an hour at busy times to receive your order if you place it to go. Sometimes even though it says the order will be done in 30 minutes, there have been times it's taken 3x that amount of time to be finished. In these cases when Tuk Tuk is crowded with other customers waiting for their to go orders, there is consistently this one worker who gets pretty snappy. He tends to make rude comments when people inquire about their orders, which can be off putting when you end up waiting an extra hour for your food than anticipated. I almost always get the tom yum soup with vegetables and chicken, and it's so heartwarming on those negative-degree days here in Hanover. Don't know what I would do without Tuk Tuk! Despite the occasional unpleasant takeout experiences, Tuk Tuk is my go to Hanover restaurant! read more

Outstanding! I've eaten at at least 25 Thai restaurants across the North America, this was hands down #1 or # 2 in overall in all aspects of service, food quality/portions and value! We had spring roll, drunken noodles and mango chicken curry: Price wise its $$ but worth every $. This place obviously caters to the Dartmouth University crowd. Great authentic Thai ambiance. Got an order to go to try this restaurant. Pad Thai is so basic that you cannot do it wrong. Got one order of chicken and one order of beef Pad Thai and an order of Thai Spring rolls. Every Thai restaurant in the United States we have eaten you get asked how hot you want your dish, mild, medium or hot, or how hot from 1 to 5. You didn't ask, so I figured it was at least a medium hot, which is what I normally ask for. My suggestion: Ask the customer what he wants. It was filling but not very flavorful, there was NO HEAT AT ALL. People eat Thai food for the heat. In addition you did not even add any hot sauce packets in the to go bag or chopsticks. My suggestion: Either you ask if the customer wants chopsticks, or add them to all customers. The food took 5 minutes to cook, bag and walk out, was it too fast, rushed, I don't have any idea. read more
