The margarita selection is also awesome and there were so many I wanted to try. I really enjoyed my spicy watermelon margarita. I also really enjoyed the black bean taco. However, I didn't really enjoy my other tacos I ordered. The sauce was often too much to the point that the taco was soggy which is a big turnoff for me. I also didn't like the carne asada taco when I almost always do because I didn't like the green sauce when I almost always do at other Mexican places. The guacamole also appears to be premade, in that we couldn't order it without tomatoes and we couldn't customize how spicy it was. It wasn't bad tasting though, just tasted like something I'd get at the grocery store. Overall good drinks spot! And a good black bean taco. Went here during Valentine's Day but went during the brunch time. The staff was so sweet and attentive. Everybody was very helpful and kind they were setting up for their Valentine's dinner which included some balloon decorations. There was even an option to purchase a game or something which was a nice Twist on a regular dinner. My husband and I shared a taco platter which had eight different tacos and we tried a whole bunch. I would highly recommend it. My daughter had pancakes that looked absolutely delicious but they had a lemon zest twist. I will be back again maybe for a dinner. read more

Stopped in for dinner, and started with the black cherry margarita and a glass of white sangria, both of which were tasty. The guacamole was delicious and the cucumbers and radishes were a nice touch as well. I had the chicken skillet tacos, and was amazed with the sheer quantity of chicken provided and all of the delicious sides. My dining partner had the birria quesadilla, and found it to be a bit too heavily smoky for her taste - but luckily my chicken tacos had so much come with them she was able to have enough of my dish to satisfy her appetite. This was my first time at Tulum and had a wonderful experience there. The food was delicious everything was fresh and full of flavor. We started with drinks Margaritas, Palomas, and Sangrias, all were super tasty and well made. For appetizers, we shared the Kale Caesar salad and guacamole with chips, both of which were excellent. For our main course, we had the surf and turf taco, the fried chicken tacos, and the steak tacos. Each dish was packed with flavor and cooked perfectly. Our waiter was fantastic he was kind, patient, and incredibly attentive. One of my friends has a gluten allergy, and he took extra care to ensure her meal was completely safe. Tried this place the other day. I arrived at just the right time. The place did not have that many customers. Maybe 3-4 tables tops. About 15-20mins half the place filled up. Just wanted to grab a drink and a little dinner. Picked up the guac & chips, shrimp ceviche, and a beef quesadilla. Plus 2 $10 margaritas. Guac was ok but I had way better. The server suggested the ceviche and I was sadly disappointed. The quesadilla was ok but nothing worth getting again. I did like the margaritas. Service was fine. Saturday lunch at Tulum Tacos and Tequila was very satisfying. Located right across from Jericho Terrace, you'll find this vibrant Taco spot. We sat down immediately upon arrival and was greeted by our waiter who was very helpful in suggesting their most ordered marg and tacos he likes. He also told us about their special for the day and drinks that weren't listed on the menu. My friend and I went with the guava and passion fruit margaritas and ordered the Taco platter, which comes with 8 tacos of your choice. This was the best bet since the 3 Taco option is only limited to one choice. I tried the birria, smashed meatball, carnitas, and fried chicken tacos. I can't put my finger on which was my favorite, but my least fav was the fried chicken. It could have been more flavorful. Lastly, don't leave without getting dessert. 3.5 stars The 8-taco platter price could definitely be lowered. For the size of the two-bite tacos, charging anything over $5 per taco feels like a price gouge. I did appreciate the ability to pick a variety. The birria was a standout, skip the mushroom -- I didn't even finish it, and the bland Baja fish taco The sides were also disappointing. The pickled veggies and rice came in portions that were thimble-sized. considering how inexpensive beans are, a larger side dish for an 8-taco platter isn't too much to ask. Chips were fresh! and not stale like many places I've tried. As for the main we had to try their Birria Tacos. Instead of giving you the broth they thickened it to almost a saucy dip which isn't such a bad idea. Almost like a thickened consommé which was a plus. Their carne asada tacos had a smoky grilled like taste to it which was good. I would probably say the baja fish was disappointing. The only tacos where the fish had 0 depths of flavor. Very easy in and out with a nice big parking lot. They have ample seating inside at tables and space by the bar. They also expanded the outdoor seating area and did a major renovation to the Friendly's that once occupied this space. Food was terrific... We started with a nacho appetizer and went straight to a plate of three tacos; fish, beef and meatball. Everything was fresh-tasty and the serving size was ample. Good savory food. Pricing is very fair, they have a happy hour and this is definitely a place that people come just to hang out and laugh. That... is fun to see. This place is fun, super loud and definitely a good spot for your girlfriends. It's probably too loud for a first date but definitely a fun spot for a few dates in. The restaurant is trendy yet casual. The hostess is accommodating despite being busy and is mindful of reservations and seating. The food is made well and the presentation is neat and social media friendly. The nachos are a generous portion and layered well so there's hardly a chip without a topping, the kale salad is balanced nicely and it light yet filling. My skinny margarita was fantastic none of that fake sour mix. Our flan was wonderful, rich in caramel flavor, portioned correctly and creamy in texture. It's pricey but I would return. My only criticism here is after the bussed our plates when asked for a container "to go" and some extra dressing the server went back to our collected dishes and took out the remaining dressing and gave us a container instead of getting some from the kitchen. Great watermelon margaritas The taco fillings were great. I think the corn tortillas are a bit tough and a touch too thick but that's just me. We tried 8 different kinds and the shrimp and Birria were the faves. The Birria sauce was great but again- the tortilla was too much. Wish it was thinner/softer. My 1st time here since it was FRIENDLY'S! Decor is beautiful, chairs are absolutely the worst uncomfortable chair I've sat in recently. I had to keep adjusting myself because I felt squished and my tush is not that big. DJ was fun but wouldn't let any songs actually play, kept cutting them off before they even got to the chorus for most songs. Kinda killed the vibe. Our waitress Leslie was nice and most of the staff seemed nice but that's about it. I just had a cocktail before we got there so I wasn't ready to drink but my friends had the white sangria and it tasted like straight up cheap house white wine with a few cut up pieces of apples. Not a true sangria and the taste was a joke. Food is not good. Bland, no flavor in anything we had. Guacamole needs some salt and pepper and a lot less crudités because it basically filled the bowl to make it look like more guac. The tortilla chips to dip were the only tasty thing we had. No lies! We then shared the platter of 8 tacos. We ordered 3 shrimp, 3 Birria and 2 chicken. The Birria was probably the only taco that had SOME flavor, thank god. Everything else, just not good. On top of all of that, the portion to price ratio is so off it's embarrassing. 3 small tacos that are smaller than Taco Bell's tacos are $24. That's insane. And it seems to be a trend here among the other reviews I've read, so whoever the chef is needs to step up their game. Salt and Pepper are your friend. Seasoning is your friend. We've been frequenting Tulum for a while now. The food is consistently delicious as are the cocktails, and the service is always fantastic. [[HIGHLIGHT]]A customer was sitting at the bar, alone, with his phone on speaker having a very loud conversation.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This was early in the day, so just us and another table, plus this very rude customer. I am sssuming the owner and/or manager was sitting at the bar, and it was apparent he noticed this customer, looked around and saw that we, too, were a bit annoyed - and he actually did something about it. He politely went to up to the customer and asked him to kindly turn his phone off speaker/be more quiet, and the custoimer did not appreciate it. He made a bit of a scene about it, paid his bill and left. He probably won't return. Very few restaurants will risk losing even one customer today to the benefit of their others - this one did. Located in the old Friendly's building. We arrived with a group of about 10 - no reservation and were seated right away. The service was fast and everyone was kind. My group really enjoyed the ambiance which was very tropical. They also have outdoor dining. It was my friend birthday and they came over and sang happy birthday - which was very nice. The food was great - we tried a bit of everything. The portions are also very big - I took most of my meal home. The ceviche was so fresh - as was everything else. After passing by the restaurant multiple times and seeing how busy it was, I decided to stop by and give it a try. It's a fun, lively restaurant with a nice selection of mood. I had some some reviews talk about the volume of the music but it was completely fine. Despite being on a main road, you don't hear the noise. Lots of seating - highly recommend sitting outside. We had ordered the salsa and chip appetizers as it unfortunately was not standard like some other Mexican restaurants. The salsa was good but wish it had a bit of a kick. I had the Al pastor tacos and they were delicious. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable and answered a lot of our questions and provided great recommendations. It was a bit pricey for two people but overall it was a decent experience. I do wish however that entrees came with rice or something over steamed vegetables.
