4 oz. Grilled Salmon Lunch Special
Valerie R.

Don't sleep on the Lengua tacos- so good! I'm long overdue for another visit but this spot is truly fantastic. The owners are incredible and deserve all the support and love from the community. They have daily specials and honestly their lunch is great too! Highly recommend you checking them out!

3 stars for today's order (3.5 if yelp allowed). There's potential here. Here's my feedback: Carne asada tacos: I said 4 stars, my wife said 3. There's 3 to an order for $15 which is a bit steep as they aren't large and there isn't a lot of meat. The taste is good and I liked the double corn tortilla. Carne asada sopes: my issue is it tasted and appeared fried. I know the base of a sope is fried masa but these tasted too fried (brown in color). Solid otherwise. Also 3 to an order. Esquities: taste and size good but the cheese used was a melty/stringy cheese. Needs to be cotija. I may try again after they've been open a bit longer.

As promised, already went back to try more. The grilled salmon with asparagus and salad were delicious, as I'd expected. But I do have my eyes on the Al Pastor fajitas for next time. Can't come soon enough.

AMAZING! Authentic food and attentive customer service. The food is packed with so much flavor and the steak was so juicy and tender. Prices are great for the portion size ! There is also side street parking & metered parking in the front. Definitely a spot to come back and check out. Inside is decorated beautifully with backdrops and paintings from coco too

Just arriving home from eating at this delicious restaurant. I'm originally from Queens, NY and have been searching high and low for good authentic tacos in(on?) Long Island. This place hit the spot! Their chicharon tacos are hands down the best. The service was quick and kind- my favorite combo. Excellent food, excellent service. We will be back!

Carne Asada Bowl

Muy Rico!!! Very yummy, the ambiance is great. We got the steak bowl and we ate ALL of it. Incredible. The steak was juicy and the guac was fresh.

Churros

Ate here earlier today with my bf and it was so nice! Our waiter was very kind, and made sure we were taken care of the entire time. The food came out quickly and was soooo good! The place itself is very cute and vibrant, but kinda small, so I'd recommend calling ahead just to make sure you can be seated!

I even received a rose for the occasion! However, we waited 10 minutes before someone finally approached us and asked, 'Is anyone helping you? Are you okay with tap water?' I understand it was a busy Valentine's Day weekend, but I expected a proper greeting rather than just being asked about tap water. When she brought the water, she asked if it was our first time. We said yes, expecting a brief explanation of the restaurant's concept. Instead, she just said, 'Technically, the meats will come to you, and you can go to the market and get anything you want. That's our special for tonight, you can go ahead and head over to the marketplace.' We went to the 'marketplace,' and it was delicious! We tried several items, and everything was tasty and fresh. Salads. Cold cuts. Rice. Beans. Zero complaints there. Back at the table, the gauchos began bringing the meats--filet mignon, picanha, sausage, bacon-wrapped steak, chicken, and lamb. Everything was cooked to perfection. The service, however, stayed subpar. My mango caipirinha arrived five minutes later, but my husband's Coke never showed up. We waited all dinner for it and never received it. Our waitress only came back once because we flagged her down for water, and then again for the check. Even the tables around us were wondering where she was. This was extremely disappointing!!! Zero smiles or a nice tone from Her. The food was delicious (5 stars), but the service she provided was definitely 0 stars. I want to come back for the food, but the service is making me think twice.

The restaurant has a beautiful, bright, modern atmosphere that feels much more upscale than its surroundings. Based on other reviews, the standout dishes seemed to be the grilled Spanish octopus and the SB Smash Burger, so I ordered both. Unfortunately, the execution fell short in several areas. The East Coast oysters arrived with mignonette but without horseradish or oyster forks--small details, but noticeable oversights. The oysters, octopus, and burger were all tasty, but the presentation of octopus and burger was surprisingly sloppy, as though little attention had been paid when the dishes left the kitchen. The bar also was understaffed. A single bartender was serving both the bar and the entire dining room, which led to waits for drinks. My bartender was friendly, attentive, and worked hard, but one person simply wasn't enough. I finished with the Key Lime Custard, which had what appeared to be a layer of shredded cereal on the bottom. I wasn't sure what it was. The dessert itself was enjoyable, though I think a base of toasted sliced almonds with a few fried blueberries on top of it would have added better texture and complemented the flavors more effectively. One nice perk is the validated valet parking, for a reduced fee, which makes arriving and leaving especially convenient given the mall location. The whiskey selection could also be improved by adding a few more interesting, off-the-beaten-path single malts or blends. Overall, the kitchen shows promise! And perhaps I came on an off night. With better attention to presentation, appropriate bar staffing, and a more adventurous choice of spirits, Small Batch could deliver an experience that better matches its reputation.

I'm leaving this review to bring awareness to the need for better training for host staff,…read moreespecially since they are the first point of interaction and can make or break the entire customer experience. No shade, but Ruth's Chris is like the Chick-fil-A of steakhouse; consistent, but not my go-to for fine dining. That said, I've been dining here for over a decade, and the food has always been consistent. The stuffed chicken and calamari are still favorites of mine. I do respect the effort to enforce a dress code in the dining area. However, it must be applied fairly and consistently not in a way that feels selective or discriminatory. Upon arrival, my party and I made sure we were dressed according to policy and even had the dress code on hand. When it was time to be seated, the hostess, Nicole, without much engagement, seated us at a high-top table near the bar. When we asked why, she stated, "We have a strict policy on athletic wear." This immediately caused confusion, as neither of us was wearing athletic wear. I was dressed in a custom Daniel's Leather, Fox Fur Trim Leather coat, leather leggings, designer sneakers, and a dressy off-the-shoulder sweater. My friend wore black jeans, a dressy off-the-shoulder top, and designer sneakers. We were both taken aback, as nothing about our outfits aligned with athletic wear. We asked to speak with a manager for clarification. The supervisor (whose name I unfortunately didn't catch, possibly Melissa) was professional, understanding, and immediately clarified that leggings were not an issue and that our attire was appropriate. She was apologetic and even checked on us again during dinner, which was appreciated. However, when returning to the front with the manager so we could be reseated properly, Nicole remained unprofessional. She was neither apologetic nor interested in addressing the situation in a respectful or human way. What made the situation more concerning was that while seated, I observed several other guest all Caucasian who were clearly underdressed seated without issue. This included individuals in tracksuits (which are definitively athletic wear),regular running sneakers, ripped jeans, graphic T-shirts, (one with Michael Myers on it and bold white letters saying "Party Crasher" also two ladies with standard leggings that were far more casual than what I was wearing. Aside from this experience, everything else was great. Our waitress, Aya, was phenomenal especially for someone new. She was knowledgeable about the menu, kind, and attentive throughout the evening. Even offered add-ons, yet not being pushy upselling which myself having experience in customer service she was great employee. The food, as always, was consistent, and the manager handled the situation professionally. Unfortunately, the experience with the hostess left a lasting negative impression. It's disappointing, because as the first point of contact, that interaction sets the tone for the entire evening--and in this case, it was handled in a way that felt distasteful, unfair and blatantly discriminatory.

As soon as we walked in I noticed the ambiance and decor was a bit classy and dim (my type of vibe). The entrance was a little tricky as we had to walk through the restaurant to get to the hostess table. We had reservations, but we had to wait about 10 minutes to be seated. I am glad we waited, because she sat us in the perfect area. We started off with the appetizers of oysters, meatballs and crab cakes. The meatballs and oysters were exquisite, the crab cakes could've stayed in the ocean. For the main course we chose the short ribs and the prime rib which was cooked perfect. For desert we got the apple crumb and the cheesecake, delish. The drinks were on point as well, we got the old fashioned and the lychee martini. Both were made perfect! The only thing that I was disappointed about a little was the service. Our server tried his best but the restaurant was busy because it was the last day of restaurant week. 45$ for 3 courses! I have no complaints except for the crab cakes. I would definitely go back and pay full price! This place is classy, food is excellent and service could improve, but it wasn't the worst.

Our waiter was great when we first sat down to get drinks out and to order. However, during dinner service, we had not seen him again. I think we had to flag other staff just to grab him at some point as we needed utensils and refills on water. We also wanted to order more drinks but it just took a long time to get his attention. We were a party of eight and was here to celebrate my birthday. Appetizers we tried: 1) thick cut candied bacon (it was indeed thick, and we did not have the kimchi on the side it was paired with), 2) Double cream Burrata with fig (it was okay, not memorable), 3) Wagyu Meatballs (really disappointing, temperature cook was uneven. One side was hard/tough like burnt and the other side was softer). 4) two orders of lobster bisque (a tad salty, had some lobster pieces, I would've preferred creamier). From finishing the appetizers, we had to wait an entire 55 minutes for our entrees to come out. We were told any moment, two times, but it was not. It took way too long. And at this point, we needed water refills and wanted to order wine. It was very chaotic and we could not find our waiter. Onto to dinner entrees: 1) porterhouse for two (heavily seasoned and again cooked at an inconsistent temperature). A few pieces were almost raw near the bone. 2) two orders of King Prime Rib, most of it was medium rare. But again, as we got closer to the inside and near the fatty sections, it was too rare/raw even. 3) Queen Prime Rib was ok. More medium than medium rare. 4) Filet mignon, which is supposed to be the most tender, it was not. It was over cooked and the meat was dry and grainy. Very disappointed. I do not recommend this at all. Onto desserts: we opted for some cappuccino and just two desserts: two affogato's and an almond cake with citrus. It was fine, but not memorable. We spent almost $900 including tip but it was literally the most disappointing steakhouse experience I've had ever. I do not recommend. It's fine for a night out for drinks but not for the steak.
