So I stopped in on a Thursday evening and then again on a Saturday evening (because Thursday was great!). By contrast, Saturday evening was crowded (we luckily had reservations) and super loud (had to actually shout to hear each other). I don't think I'll ever come through on a Saturday night again if this is the norm. The bar was completely overwhelmed. We made it through the whole appetizer course before we ever received our drinks - and we ordered drinks before we ordered apps. There was a mix up with one of the drinks and it took 28 minutes to rectify and receive another. I would've expected the new drink to be expedited considering it was the server's mistake. The food is still good. The service was exceedingly better on Thursday night vs Saturday night but could possibly be attributed to the server. We previously visited the Mineola location and wanted to try the newest location. We stopped by midweek in the evening and it was not very crowded. It's really nicely decorated with a chill vibe. Our waitress was great! We sat at the high top table in the corner but she was always checking in to make sure we didn't need anything. We ordered margaritas and beers, no complaints on the drinks. To start, we ordered the chips and guac. The guac was good but needed something, like a little salt and spice, to make it a little better but was overall ok. I had a quesadilla which was nicely cooked and a big enough portion that I took some home. The Hubs had the Smashed Meatball Tacos and he didn't have any complaints. I'd been following the Mineola location on Instagram, and was so excited to see they opened a location in Baldwin near my friends. Checked it out last Friday around 5:30pm. It's a beautifully designed space and you would never believe this was once a Friendly's Restaurant. They were so busy, the parking lot was full. Nice to see everyone coming out and excited to try a new place. Our server was so kind and attentive. There was so much staff I think I counted almost 18 people between all the waiters, people that looked like managers, busboys etc. People were constantly stopping by our table offering to take things away or seeing if we needed anything, refilling water etc. Now let's get to the food. We saw a happy hour menu listed on their website and were going to sit at the bar. There was no space but they said we could sit at a table and have happy hour. Nice! We tried to order items we saw online (there was no actual happy hour menu at our table) and the waiter was confused so went to check with a supervisor. He returned to let us know what we saw online was for Mineola only. They did offer happy hour for margaritas $10, so we each ordered a different kind. While the margaritas were fancy in presentation, the taste was just sweet, they were supposed to be spicy and neither seemed to have heat. We started with the guacamole which was bland and tasted like a mashed avocado. Granted there was a ton of it, so you're getting your money's worth in avocados. We decided to get the braised chicken tinga to share along with the baby corn appetizer. The tacos were fine, the baby corn such a tiny portion I don't know how they're charging $13 for what's basically 6 pieces of baby corn. We tried one more round of margaritas (now $15 each) and were still not impressed. We were going to order more food but decided to get our bill and leave since everything was disappointing. The space and service is great - truly on point with the attention to detail from the glasses to the napkins, plates and silverware, etc. Sadly, I feel like not as much attention has been paid to the food. read more

Came here for a late lunch. You can smell how clean the restaurant was from the parking lot. It smelt of fabuloso! The way they transformed this old friendly's is incredible! So well put together. The service from the moment you walked in to the very end has fantastic. The food was absolutely delicious. And the prices were very fair, especially the lunch menu. They are super generous with the protein too. We ordered a small order of nachos with barbacoa to start. Omggggg mouth-watering good. Packed high with meat too. I ordered the burrito and it came with a side of loaded curly fries. The red rice inside, I would order bowls of it. The carne asada was boldly flavored too. We ordered three types of tacos and each one did not disappoint. This is now one of my go to taco places! Save room for dessert...the stuffed churros were a hit. Stuffed with a cinnamon whipped like filling with a rich chocolate and cooked condensed milked that was almost like a light dulce de leche sauce for dipping. Definitely a must order. All the margaritas also can be ordered as mocktails too, so you don't feel left out of the group that's drinking. read more

I've driven past the Mineola location a bunch of times and always wondered if I should stop in. On a family girls' night out this weekend, we ventured to the Baldwin location and we absolutely loved it! As soon as we stepped inside, we loved the decor and overall atmosphere. It really feels like dining in Mexico. (I was so interested in the photos around the bathrooms!) For drinks, we had to try the margaritas (guava, coconut, and passionfruit) -- 2 with alcohol, 2 without. The presentation was beautiful of course and they were as good as they looked. They were super refreshing and the alcoholic ones weren't too strong. For appetizers, we went with the chips & guac (a must, it was excellent), the coconut shrimp (sooo flavorful & juicy!), and the Mexican wings (the sauce was delicious). We were so pleased by the apps that we were worried we wouldn't have room for the entrees (don't worry, we did). We tried the tequila shrimp tacos, pork al pastor, surf & turf tacos, and birria quesadilla. Everything was amazing. I usually opt for fish tacos everywhere I go but my tequila shrimp was so juicy that I might have a new go-to here (but I'm so excited to return and try a few other options). My mom's pork al pastor was well seasoned & flavorful. The only thing we wished is that we could've picked between corn & flour tortillas. For dessert, we tried almost everything. (Could we have shared, probably. But why not try it all?) The Twinkie tres leches cake was really great (not as soaked as your typical tres leches but the flavor was rich & sweet). I loved the churros (they were nice & soft and the right amount of sweet), the flan was good. We also ordered a latte & a Dulce de leche ice cream "ahogado," both were yummy. The service was amazing. I decided to have a small gathering here for my birthday and this is the place we ended up going to as a party of 10. The ambiance is really nice inside looks great, high ceilings and a clean feel. I started off with a guava drink, then a habanero drink then another honestly the drinks here were not that great not strong and after three I felt like I haven't drank anything at all. The food for one I will say was clean and presented well. We had a few apps to begin one being the shrimp with jalapeños on top it was okay. For my main I ordered a shrimp quesadilla I thought it was good. A few people did get tacos they has a platter for a few for a cost when you do the math it's lil $8 a taco. I don't think that's a good deal. I would have to come back on a different day to give them another try because I'm unsure how I really feel. Also we brought in a birthday cake which they placed in the fridge or freezer and made the cake really hard when it came to cutting it. My mother was very unhappy about this. read more

As soon as you step foot near the restaurant grounds, you feel like you're in Mexico! From the palm trees, the pretty aqua blue carved entrance door to the soothing decor inside the restaurant. We didn't have any reservations and were seated immediately. I loved it all! I enjoyed the fried calamari with the sweet chili sauce as well as the mahi mahi, shrimp, Baja, Barbacoa and pork Al pastor tacos. The decor is so cool, from the lighting, the cool bottles behind the bar and the "day of the dead" skeleton art. I ordered the tropical margarita. The bartenders take great care in preparing your drink, and it was yummy too! Take a peak at the skeleton on the bottom of the glass ( SUCH DETAIL!). For an app we started with Yuca Frita, which was YUMMA, lite and fresh with great dipping sauces. For dinner we chose the side of street corn, the Baja fish taco and the smashed black bean quinoa. My Hubbs loved the fish taco and mine was great too. They were very filling, I could only eat two and took mine home for leftovers the next day! Disappointing Experience and Poor Management Response I visited Tulum on July 4 based on my daughter's recommendation. The restaurant wasn't crowded, and we were seated promptly. The staff was friendly enough--our waitress and the servers were polite. We started with the calamari appetizer, a tropical margarita, and a coconut-based mocktail (since they didn't have any virgin daiquiris). Let me be clear: while the calamari had decent flavor and crunch, it was clearly overcooked. The margarita was watered down to the point of being flavorless, and the coconut drink was diluted with so much ice that it barely resembled a beverage. For our entrées, we ordered the chicken quesadillas and the fish skillet taco made with the "catch of the day"--red snapper. My guest didn't enjoy the quesadillas at all, I didn't taste them myself therefore I can't comment on that. I did enjoy the fish skillet taco--well-cooked and seasoned--but the experience quickly went downhill from there. We asked for our food to be packed to go. Normally, I wrap my own leftovers, but the staff insisted on doing it themselves and took our plates back to the kitchen. They returned with to-go boxes already bagged. I didn't think twice about checking--it's always been a standard, trustworthy process at any decent restaurant. Big mistake. On July 6, I went to reheat my leftovers and was appalled to find food that wasn't mine. In the box were partially eaten nachos and a taco with a bite taken out of it--someone else's meal entirely. At that point, I was not only disappointed but disgusted. We had spent $180 for watered-down drinks, overcooked calamari, a mixed entrée experience--and now this? I called the restaurant between 6:30 and 7:00 PM that evening to speak with a manager. Unfortunately, I didn't catch his name, but I'm sure someone from the establishment will know who was on duty. I explained the situation calmly and clearly, and his initial response was: "What do you want me to do?" Frankly, what I expected was for a manager to take the matter seriously and offer a professional solution. Instead, I had to explain what would be fair: I wasn't asking for compensation for the quesadillas, but I did request a credit for my entrée since I barely ate it and didn't even receive it in the to-go box. His response? "Oh no, you're not getting a refund." So let me get this straight--you ask me what you can do to resolve the situation, I give you a reasonable answer, and you shut it down without offering any alternative? At that point, it was clear there would be no resolution. I ended the call with a polite goodbye, but make no mistake--I left the conversation thoroughly frustrated. To anyone considering dining here: - Don't let them pack your leftovers. Do it yourself, or double-check the contents before leaving. - Avoid the calamari unless you want it overcooked. - Ask for no ice in your cocktail unless you enjoy paying premium prices for flavored water. Soon after we arrived and got our drinks,(before we ate) the bar filled up. At which point a man showed up for work. Perhaps a manager or bartender or whatever. It was then he decided to stock the bar and do all the necessary work to prepare for the evening. I am talking loud and chaotic. Bottles, glasses, condiments....etc. In out, talking to the bartender. Totally distracting. This went on for the rest of our time there. While we were trying to eat and relax. POINT BEING, not chill and relaxing at all. I never experienced anything like it on MY TIME and my DIME. Bad management for sure. Hospitality should always be properly prepped ahead of a "rush"! Probably won't be back. This was a very hard one to review because I've see videos about this place and was looking forward to it. First, I want to say that Tulum itself both outside and inside extraordinary. The decor and just everything was on point. Going inside as a first time customer I was greeted by a wonderful host, enjoying the music while heading to the table. I believe we ordered coconut shrimp also but it never arrived at the table. The spicy tuna was my fave. The others were okay not to rave about. The actual service, hospitality all lacked for me. The staff seem disengaged and I did not find them hospitable to be honest. Impeccable service is the cornerstone for repeat business. I recently had a very disappointing experience at Two Little Tacos and Tequila and feel it's important to share. I visited with a group of four shortly before closing. While our waitress was kind and professional, we were not informed by the owner when we walked in that the kitchen was about to close--something we only learned once seated. We rushed to place our order and paid upfront ($75 total, plus a $10 tip). Unfortunately, shortly after the food arrived, multiple people in our group felt sick. One person became physically ill after just a couple of bites and had to go to the bathroom, and another couldn't continue eating due to feeling unwell. Naturally, we wanted to let staff know--not for a refund, but simply out of concern for food quality and safety. What happened next was unacceptable. When the manager approached us, he was already recording the interaction on his phone. Before we could fully explain the situation, he said, "Maybe it was from the weed you guys just smoked." This assumption was not only completely unprofessional, but also felt disrespectful and inappropriate. One member of our group even clarified that she does not smoke and serves in the Army, yet the interaction continued in a dismissive and argumentative tone rather than addressing the concern. This experience turned what should have been a simple meal into something uncomfortable and upsetting. Between the apparent food issue and the way we were treated, it left a very negative impression. Got a last minute 6pm reservation and they were bustling when my boyfriend and I arrived. We were seated shortly after and fell in love with the ambiance. The greenery against the wood was modern and the amount of natural sunlight is so inviting. I also loved the opening of the restaurant right out to the sidewalk and the outside seating was neatly tucked away from the street and covered by large umbrellas. The menu is mostly tacos and drinks there wasn't much variation for entrees but there were some options for appetizers. We went with the calamari and it was a lot of food and very tasty. It was well made crispy and fresh and it came with lemon garlic and sweet and spicy sauces, both were great. For entrees we got the taco platter and got 4 tacos each. The stars were the barria and the smashed meatball for me. My boyfriend really enjoyed the shrimp taco. The chicken tinga was a little dry and the carne asada didn't have much flavor. I just expected more. The drinks were amazing! I had vernon en Tulum and it was like a piña colada meeting a fruity mojito, very tasty. My boyfriend had the smokey matador and he enjoyed that was well. The other thing we noticed was an abundance of flies, we were constantly swatting our food and I noticed a few on the windows. I think they should try and do something about that. The space is naturally open so it's bound to happen but it was a bit annoying at points to keep swatting. Our server was great, very fast and thoughtful. Took great care of us. Overall, I was really excited to experience this restaurant and I think everyone else is as well which is why it's so hard to get a reservation. The tacos were super good, and the rice and beans were my favorite - the kids' table (that's us!) ate all of it. Zoe was the nicest! She even made sure Mommy got her extra drink. She brought our food really fast so we didn't have to wait long, which was awesome because we were hungry. The lemonade was fresh-squeezed, not too sweet, and had a lemon slice on top - like fancy grown-up drinks but for kids. The guacamole came with veggies (yum!) and the chips were warm with just enough salt. We only wish we had a little more guacamole because it was so good. We can't wait to go back! read more

We ordered Carne Asada which was good and presented well, I personally would have enjoyed them more on a floured taco, and not the corn (it left a strange after taste), we finished the meal off with the apple empanadas with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Which wasn't bad but taste wise it really didn't give me the warm and fuzzed. (though the ice cream was creamy and delicious). The appetizer the calamari was very good, I totally enjoyed it, the choice of sauces were good too. The drinks (margarita-Tulum) was very good. I would have liked to try others in their Bourbon category just out of curiosity. Overall, that's why I have them 4 stars. Everything about this place should scream success, but the food seems to fall short and this disappoints me. So i finally came here with my friend since we've been eyeing this place for a while when they began remodeling it. I loved the design! Everything was so modern. But i will say the space is fairly tight. I felt like i was in a classroom back in high school.. the people next to me felt like my desk mate. When my friend and i walked in we were immediately greeted and seated, that was great! BUT throughout the entire time we were there, the service wasn't bad! just that we had to wait a while to get someone's attention every time we needed something. We weren't really checked on to see if everything was okay, it happened maybe once or twice and that's it. As for the food... I thought it was ok... The ONLY thing i enjoyed was the buffalo cauliflower tacos. Those were amazing. The baby street corn was good! However it was too salty in some parts. The drinks.. were not my favorite but still drinkable. The coconut drink i got was good just maybe not shaken too well . There was another drink i got that was definitely better' i just can't remember the names but it had raspberry i believe. Now for dessert.. i was disappointed since i got the apple pie empanadas and i just did not like it.. At first, we got confused because there is another restaurant with an almost similar name down the road but they kindly told us where we needed to go. The girls were a bit loud too but we were already there and didn't feel like going somewhere else. The menu is mostly tacos with some other appetizers and larger plates. We started off with chips and salsa (for those expecting it at the table, it's not, you have to order them but, they gave us more) and a kale Caesar salad with grilled corn and grilled zucchini. The salad was actually pretty good but would have liked more veggies in it. It had a lot of cotija cheese in it. We then shared an order of the oyster mushroom tacos (3) and the skirt steak skillet tacos. The oyster mushroom tacos were my favorite thing we ordered. A lot of flavor and texture and didn't miss having meat. The skirt steak tacos were ok, kind of bland in my opinion. If you plan to share, definitely start with the salad and chips. While it was good, I don't know if I'd run back here. Our server was very nice. read more
