I had a ball! (Actually, quite a few :)…read more Quite a few years ago, I was on a motorcycle trip coming into Bend, and I saw their sign that said "mountain oysters." I had always wanted to try them, so I stopped in, and I've loved them ever since. They have the texture of chicken gizzards, and have kind of a liver-y taste, but not nearly as strong. It's hard to describe the flavor other than they are very good. I was passing through Bend, so I had to stop in again. This is a very down-to-earth place. Nothing fancy at all. They left the food speak for itself. My server was. Kenzie, and she was very friendly and helpful. They are more than just a steakhouse, they have a very large, varied menu The mountain oysters are normally an appetizer, but I had them as a full meal. I also had a side order of the coleslaw. To drink, I had a fruity lemonade. I don't remember what it was, but I do remember that it was very good, the fruit played well with the lemonade, and it was not too sweet. The mountain oysters were delicious, pounded thin, and not over breaded. They came with two dipping sauces, a Housemade barbecue sauce, and a jalapeño mustard. I loved the barbecue sauce, it was just a little bit sweet, and a little bit tangy. The jalapeño mustard, also very good, reminded me of a Dijon, and you could just taste the jalapeños. They didn't overpower the mustard. The coleslaw was also very good, it was not overdressed, and I'm not sure what the dressing was, but it was savory and just a little bit tangy. I took my dessert with me to go. I had the MarionBerry bread pudding. It was moist, and a little bit sweet, but not too sweet. It was an excellent bread pudding, and of course I forgot to take a photo. They were generous with the berries, and they really played against the bread pudding so well. It came with a caramel sauce which was very good, but I preferred the bread pudding without the caramel sauce, because I felt that the caramel sauce clashed with the berries a bit. For all I got, the price was very reasonable, and they do offer a military/veterans discount. I will be back the next time. I'm in town. Thanks

They ordered 2 10-inch Margherita Pizzas and a Spinach and Artichoke Pizza (same size). Everyone enjoy what was ordered. They said the crust was especially good. I was initially a bit disappointed…read moreby the Burrata Margherita due to what was my own misinterpretation but an understandable one, I feel. Normally when I have ordered pizza with burrata on it, it comes as a little ball in the center placed after cooking, which is what I had imagined on top of the already-constructed Margherita pizza, but in this case the burrata is used instead of the traditional use of mozzarella on Margherita pizzas (see photo). Understandable misunderstanding, but nonetheless disappointing and I do think it could be made more clear on the menu. The crust held up but was not charred the way I am used to with wood fired pizzas, and was overall rather flavorless with the Margherita toppings. The flavor-lacking crust was not an issue in the Pine Marten Pizza, however, because the pizza itself was much more flavorful to make up for this. I'd recommend the PMP or get it again if I went back. It was a great mix of flavors with the clever addition of hot honey.

The chicken basil woodfired pizza was delicious and flavorful and had a nice crisp to the dough. The waiter said if we wanted a dessert he recommended the house made cheese cake, but we were pretty full, then I notice they had ice cream sandwiches and it was made in Portland Oregon with pure ingredients and the flavors they had was different from what we have back home, so of course we had to try some and we weren't disappointed! The ice cream sandwich was tasty and delicious and so refreshing. Restroom was clean and well maintained also restaurant was also clean and well maintained. You cannot beat woodfired pizza, we need to try some of the other options they have!

I was a solo diner and she gave me just the same attention and hospitality as her other groups. It was a very homey feeling, I felt like I was having breakfast at a friend's house. The margarita was very yummy, not too sweet and super refreshing. The Baja Chicken Hash was a party in my mouth. I felt like every bite had a different level of something. I wouldn't recommend if you're not a saucy person. Between the salsa, poached egg and hollandaise I was in sauce heaven. Stefan was very personable, he encouraged me to try the homemade hot sauce with my meal and simply said "try this, trust me". The homemade hot sauce and ketchup really complimented the dish as well. The owner walked around and talked with myself and other guests and he also helped buss my table. Very admirable to see owners be present and get down and dirty with the staff. Much respect and appreciation. Only visiting Bend but will definitely dine again for I leave and will absolutely tell a friend :)

Normally that's not a problem but we were traveling so didn't get to take all that delicious food back home with us. Funnily enough I overheard the manager speaking to another couple and mentioning you can order half size portions which is pretty convenient. Food was tasty! Service was decent (felt like the waitress said "perfect" one too many times and also asked us on 3 different occasions where we were from). Outside of that we'd definitely come back to try some of the other items on the menu. The bakery looked tempting as well!

Too messy and scattered, even for a "kitschy" little coffee shop. I was pleasantly surprised as I talked to the front counter ladies to get my drink figured out, as I was trying something new to me, and my first time here. They warmed right up, and made me THE MOST AMAZING!! Strawberry Banana Smoothie. I can't do dairy, so we skipped the yogurt? and the mix base powder. I had it made, at my request and their cordial obligement, with just oat milk, fruit and they added the ice I think. It had the most beautiful flavor, sweet and fruity. It tasted like it had dairy in it.. even though it didn't. It was THAT good!! It had the most delightful little crystals in it that weren't like ice, they crunched like protein powder. It was the most beautiful feeling. Best smoothie I have ever had!! My barista's name was Ellery, she was very polite, warm and personable. We all had a good chat, and a good laugh. I love the small town vibe here. And the cute little inside, warmed up to me as I milled around and looked at things while they made my drink. They have, to the right of the front counter, a self service area with a pay station. So if the line's busy, and backed up, you can just get your own stuff, that is, if you don't need an espresso. Super cool!! It works on the honor system. Such trust!! Love it; the old school way of doing things in a business. They also have the most beautiful gluten free cardamom muffins they make in-house, and they're HUGE!! I didn't have one, as they do have dairy in them. Unfortunately they don't have any vegan options other than a gluten free, vegan bar, and something else I don't recall. The outside seating has birds that visit in the bushes, and it's quite quiet from traffic, on a busy midday weekday, I was pleasantly surprised. I enjoyed my time here. And I believe you will too.
