We were munching on grilled vegetables for a little while, wondering how they were just so good. The staff was very polite, knowledgeable, patient, and friendly. They definitely make everyone feel welcome. We're definitely coming back if we're in Bend again in the near future.

I will not be returning to maki maki…read more While I absolutely love the food at maki maki, in fact, it has been one of my favorite places to eat in all of bend since they opened, after the experience i just had, i wont be back. I had a crazy interaction with the two people running the cart who were both incredibly rude. Specifically the lady that was working at the time. I ordered the wrong menu item and when I admitted my mistake and asked to get the other item I meant to order, the lady scoffed in my face and shut the window on me. I even said "you can be nice about it" wich she then YELLED at me that it was "my fault" as I walked away with my food IN FRONT OF OTHER CUSTOMERS. Very sad how people can be so quick to jump to negativity and anger. Maki employees if your reading this, i think you'll find your lives to be much easier if you choose kindness. Let's just start out with the atmosphere.... This place is just covered in craft store plants and Amazon decorations. No character nothing special. So I started out with just a classic Mai Tai after looking over the menu and being pretty disappointed that it's just the most basic "tiki" drinks in existence. The Mai Tai was flat out awful, and I mean AWFUL. It tasted like water mixed with lime juice. No alcohol taste in anyway, and not even a drip of Orgeat taste. It is so bad that it upset me, and it's completely clear like water. I did decide to stay cause I needed a break from the long week of work, but I just went straight to rum straight. I could've overlooked this, if there was even any slight conversation at the bar with the bartenders, but they had no interest in talking to the people that were there, three of the people at the bar were employees, and the entire time was just them talking together about how much they don't like rum or even the drinks on the menu. Wild. Past that they were talking about how they store their juices, and that they don't date label them in any way or throw them out after a certain amount of days, they just come in and taste them to see if they've gone bad. Get the f*** out of here.... A quick Google search will show you that most citrus juices start to oxidize within the hour, and orange and pineapple are not far behind...
