The turkey leg was a good fall off the bone but not sure if a marinated flavor was there had to add salt. Delicious yams and greens were touched with hot sauce. Definitely something try but call ahead because their might be a 2-3 hour wait.

I drove all the way from Omaha Nebraska to try the turkey legs and was expecting a little bit more the legs were really tender but lack flavor for the price and sides were really small for the price it was decent maybe if I lived here it but try them out

This is a unique addition to Kansas City's BBQ scene. Nothing else quite like it. Keep in mind two things. 1. It's a one man operation. 2. It's a carry out only place. What I am trying to say is call ahead to avoid a wait. This place has built an entire BBQ joint around smoked Turkey legs, and rightfully so! The drumsticks are well-made, smoky, tender, and wonderful. The Bussman offers the drumstick under a giant mountain of 4 cheese Mac! The Mac is so freaking good. The smoked chicken wings are some of the best in town. When offered, the turkey ribs are awesome and unlike anything else in town. The burnt ends are the presauced type and make for a solid sandwich. The beef polish is one of the best smoked sausages I have found in KC. The owner is super friendly and appreciative of the business. Cool spot worth checking out - just call ahead! The Bussdown Legg is what every first-timer should try.

    This is the building.

If you love smoked Turkey Legs this is the place to go! Unfortunately, there is no dine in. Pick up and To Go only but it was worth eating it in my car! The price for the smoked Turkey leg was appropriate. I thought the sides were a bit high until I opened the bag. Each side is enough for two people. I would advise going with someone you don't mind sharing food with . I have a hearty appetite and this was enough for dinner tonight and the other half for dinner tomorrow nights. I ordered a turkey leg, Mac & cheese and a side of greens. I was sad they were out of potato salad and lemonade. The staff was quite pleasant, friendly, quick. I was in and out in about 10 mins even with me not initially knowing what I wanted. I will definitely visit them again to get my smoked Turkey and greens fix. The mac&cheese was pale but surprisingly flavorful. Everything was perfectly seasoned.

    Smoked turkey leg.

If you are looking for smoked turkey leg this is the place definitely top notch definitely give it a 10 out of 10 fall right off the bone it's got the fat rendered down just perfect it's got that Smoky flavor definitely will be coming back.

    Highly recommend

The birria tacos were absolutely --easily my favorite thing on the menu. We also tried the ceviche, and it was fresh and delicious. If you enjoy cocktails, don't skip the dragon fruit passion cocktail. It was a 10/10 and instantly became my new favorite! Beyond the food, the service was warm and welcoming. You can really feel the pride that comes with a family-owned business. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and made with care. If you're looking for a new Mexican spot in Kansas City's West Bottoms, definitely add this one your list. Whether you're stopping in for tacos, cocktails, or a full meal, I don't think you'll leave disappointed.

I wanted to like Nunez Foods…read more Actually, that's not quite right. I expected to like Nunez Foods. The bright pink building grabs your attention long before you pull into the parking lot. The covered patio is lined with string lights, picnic tables, and enough personality to make you think you've stumbled onto a hidden neighborhood spot. It looks like the kind of place where you order way too much food, sit outside for an hour, and immediately start planning your next visit. Then the smell hits you. The aroma drifting from the service window made me regret eating lunch before I arrived. Whatever was cooking inside smelled incredible. The kind of smell that makes you start mentally rearranging your order before you've even looked at the menu. I was already rooting for the place. Unfortunately, that's where things started going sideways. Ordering felt confusing from the beginning. There was a service window, a kiosk, and a food truck operating in the same space, and it wasn't entirely clear where the process started or ended. After placing my order, I settled in to wait. And wait. And wait. For most of that 45-minute wait, the only conversation available was the hum of the air-conditioning unit and the rumble of the food truck generator parked out front. Employees moved between the building and the truck. Customers came and went. Nobody ever checked in. Nobody ever told me there was a problem. Nobody ever told me my order had apparently been lost. Eventually, after asking about it, the food appeared. By then I was running late to pick up my son. The frustrating part isn't that the food took 45 minutes. Anybody who has worked in restaurants long enough knows that sometimes service goes sideways. Tickets get lost. Systems fail. A busy shift turns into controlled chaos. The frustrating part was not knowing what was happening. Because there were good things there. The Birria Hot Cheeto Balls were doing some heavy lifting that afternoon. Bright neon red on the outside, packed with tender birria, and loaded with the kind of cheese pull that makes you stop talking for a second just to appreciate what's happening. They came with a cheddar dipping sauce I would have happily swam laps in. Later, after I got home, I discovered there was also a chipotle sauce tucked into the bag. The food showed flashes of real creativity. The elote arrived watery and underwhelming, and I never really got a fair chance to evaluate the birria ramen. By the time I got home, I was rushing through the meal instead of enjoying it. The experience I'd come for was already gone. I couldn't sit on the patio. I couldn't take my time with the food. I couldn't tell if I was eating the ramen the way it was intended to be served because nobody explained the garnishes or sauces. That's what disappointed me most. I wasn't upset because I had to wait. I was disappointed because the wait and lack of communication took away the experience I'd been looking forward to. The strangest part came later. My receipt text arrived at 4:42 PM when I ordered. Then, nearly two hours later, at 6:35 PM, I received a Square notification telling me my order was ready. By that point I had already picked up my son, gone home, and finished eating. It felt like the perfect final detail in a visit defined by confusion. After seeing my post, Nunez Foods acknowledged the long wait and apologized. I appreciated that more than they probably realize. Restaurants are messy, chaotic little ecosystems. Somebody misses a ticket. Somebody forgets to communicate. One small mistake starts rolling downhill and suddenly a guest is sitting alone for 45 minutes wondering if they've become invisible. It happens. What matters is what happens after. Nobody argued. Nobody made excuses. Nobody told me I was wrong. They simply acknowledged that my experience wasn't what it should have been. That doesn't erase the wait. It doesn't give me back the afternoon I had planned. But it does remind me that there are people behind the counter, and people make mistakes. The patio is inviting. The food showed enough promise to make me curious. The Birria Hot Cheeto Balls alone are enough to make me wonder what a good day at Nunez Foods looks like. And honestly, I think I'd like to find out. Good food earns a second visit. Hospitality earns loyalty. The hospitality missed the mark on my visit. But the apology mattered. And I'm willing to give them another chance.
