Service is really easy! You just order from the kiosk, grab a number and they bring your food out to you! The place is super clean and well managed. Overall, food was delicious! Soup was super hot and well seasoned. I will be back to try all the other options on the menu!

Food, superb Service - quick Ambiance - bright and woodsy. First time here on 6/12/25 and boy was i impressed, like holy poke bowls batman! Appetizer - money balls - think extra creamy crab rangoon, smaller than most but like 9 of them Sannin Bowl - Matcha rice, seaweed, scallions, cucumber, poke shoyu, salmon, ahi tuna, sweet corn, seaweed salad, crab, masago, ginger, fried garlic, crispy onion, and sesame seeds. Crunchy, yummy, salty and savory all in 1 bowl! Warning - very filling, may encounter leftovers!

SANNIN is a modern gem in KCK serving up poke bowls, sushi, and ramen in a cozy, welcoming space. The vibe is chill, the space is clean, and the staff is incredibly friendly -- you feel right at home as soon as you walk in! Their poke bowl selection is amazing, with plenty of signature options and a build-your-own option that includes unlimited toppings -- yes, unlimited! It's perfect for anyone who loves to customize. We tried a variety of items and were impressed with every bite. The Money Bag appetizer (crispy wontons filled with cream cheese and crab) was a standout -- so crispy and flavorful. We also had the veggie egg rolls and fried rice, both delicious. Now the sushi... wow. We sampled the Lion King Roll, Baked Lobster Roll, AAC Roll, and the Kansas City Roll. Each one had great flavor, freshness, and presentation -- you can tell they take pride in what they serve. I also tried the Curry Ramen, and it totally hit the spot -- bold, comforting, and just the right amount of spice. If you're a foodie or just love a good meal, definitely add SANNIN to your list. It's a fantastic new spot with great vibes and even better food. Sannin certainly does not offer a warm and welcoming feel by any means. Ordering is done at a kiosk and your food is delivered to your table in a generic cafeteria style dining room with only a nod. Water, plastic utensils, chopsticks and napkins are self serve as is the table busing when you are finished. The busing trays above the trashcans had not been emptied in some time and the place was fairly empty on a Sunday afternoon. The one self-serve that I did love was the miso soup dispenser and it was free. The pricing is economical with 3 small rolls of 8 pieces each was $15 - California, spicy crab and salmon were my 3 rolls on Combo B. I added a spam musubi for $3 and their version of crab rangoon for $8. Nothing stood out, but nothing was subpar and the value was there for an economical lunch. Certainly not a date spot or in the top tier for Asian go-to joints. Three stars and an extra one for free unlimited miso.

Greenwashing alert- there is only a spot for landfill and dish return- no composting or recycling

Good seaweed salad and solid nigiri! I had the ikura, mackerel, eel and yellowtail, all were good. I dig the miso soup machine, and that it's complementary! I took off a star because there is an unclear waste station where you bus your items, and there is definitely some green washing going on. They claimed to recycle and compost, yet there is only a spot for landfill, and some buckets for busing. Meanwhile, the water cups are all flimsy single used plastic, and the only utensils available are single use, even if you are doing dine in! So the sign above the busing station claiming to care about the planet is not to be taken seriously. Until they switch to glass glasses and silverware and actually put out a legitimate composting bin, I'm not buying that they are trying to do right by the environment.

When entering, I browsed the menu and paid on a tablet. It was very convienient. Once arriving at my table, it was bright and I loved the decor. My food came out within 5 minutes, the service was very fast. I would definitely reccommend to a friend!

Came here during lunch and they were not busy at all. Food was fast and the inside has super cute decor. I got a bento box and a salmon roll for under $20 and they also have free miso soup.

The wasabi and a really nice kick and I just love the flavor profile of the bowl. The avocado is another really good part of this bowl as I think it pairs really well with the salmon and the rice. I feel that the serving size was a little smaller than I expected as I chose the largest option. It didn't seem like that big of a bowl for the price. One thing to note here is the small parking lot next to the building. It's just part of the deal with going to a place in the River Market. If you can't find a spot in the lot, there are a few others close by. One other thing to note is the business does not allow changes to its bowl recipes on app orders.

Nice big servings but I had hoped that both the tuna and salmon would be prepared the same way. Ultimately I can't complain about the food or the location and would return if I were in the area. The restaurant was very nice--tastefully decorated with authentic touches that felt intentional and refined. The large canvas artwork added character without overwhelming the space. It struck a perfect balance: elegant but comfortable. The staff was attentive, welcoming, and knowledgeable about the menu. They were patient and accommodating, especially with our little one, which always makes a difference when dining out with family. We started with the sampler platter, which included fresh spring rolls, crispy spring rolls, and a variety of other traditional bites. Everything was prepared well--the fresh rolls were vibrant and clean tasting, while the crispy rolls had a satisfying crunch without being greasy. For entrées, my wife ordered the Vietnamese pork chop with the perfectly runny egg over broken rice. The pork was well-seasoned and cooked just right, and that egg brought everything together beautifully. I ordered the Bánh Mì and a bowl of pho. The pho had the perfect level of spice--balanced, aromatic, and comforting. The broth had depth, and you could tell it was crafted with care. The Bánh Mì was equally impressive; the baguette was toasted just right--crispy on the outside, soft on the inside--holding all the flavors together without overpowering them. What truly stands out is that Broken Rice delivers this level of quality without being overly expensive. It's a great value for authentic, well-executed Vietnamese cuisine. And most importantly--our niece enjoyed herself too, which says a lot. I would absolutely recommend Broken Rice to anyone looking for a satisfying, authentic dining experience in a warm and welcoming atmosphere

My mom and I had dinner here on a weekday, I would definitely recommend getting reservations on the weekends because the restaurant isn't that big. I also wouldn't say it's a great place for large groups. The menu isn't too large or complex but it seems like what they do they do right. I only gave four stars instead of five because the portions were kind of small for the price. My mom and I split all the dishes. We got dumplings, boa and Dan Dan noodles. By far my favorite dish were the noodles, they had such a different flavor profile than some of the other Dan Dan noodles I've had. Also, I'm a sucker for a soft jammy egg and this was the perfect texture. Some Dan Dan noodles I've had are in a thick peanut sauce, these were instead in a spicy broth with slight notes of nuttiness. This dish was a little too spicy for my mom so, if you don't like spice I probably wouldn't t recommend these particular noodles. The dumplings we picked were the chicken and basil ones, they had a light fresh flavor and weren't heavy or greasy at all, I easily could have eaten two orders of these. Now, the biggest surprise was the boa because I was expecting one thing but was pleasantly surprised with something new to me. We got the Char Siu Boa and instead of a traditional boa bun it was in a buttery encasing, more like a pastry crust. It is quite pricey, $15 for one boa but it had a generous amount of roasted barbecue pork. The filling was simple but the outside was melt in your mouth deliciousness. I will definitely keep Chewology in mind when I want a unique dining experience( it's a Taiwanese inspired menu) that still is comfort food.
