We work nearby and have been consistently been going here at least twice a week since they opened. The gyros are awesome, all fresh ingredients and delicious. It may not be the most authentic gyro but they are so good. Spicy chicken is my fav. Most people get the plates cause it's so much food, I prefer the gyros cause they press and cook the pita wrap fresh for every order. The owner makes all the sauces from scratch, there is a lot of love that goes into their flavors. I love the harissa and the avocado tahini. The salads are legit, I build my own every time and it's sooo good. Thai cashew dressing is delicious. Everyone who works there is so nice, Noah is awesome and we always laugh about something. This place has been such a great addition to the neighborhood! My fiance loves going when WFH to grab a gyro, and their fix-in options are healthy and plentiful. I don't particularly love the chicken they use, and sometimes the veggies don't taste that fresh, but my fiance has never complained about any of it! Service is always super quick and friendly (it's like a Greek chipotle), and they share a space with a build-your-own salad place (which I actually love!). The gyro was horrible first off it was soggy bread the fries where mush not crispy not many fries could even hold the gyro it was a mess! My wife, daughter, and I took a break from moving her into her dorm and went here for a quick lunch. We took the order to go versus eating it there. The space was large and comfortable-looking. The service at the counter where you ordered was great. They have a lot of different offerings, and you build each dish exactly how you want it. We took our order and went back to the dorm, and I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed the food. My wife had the Falafel gyro, my daughter had the lamb gyro, and I had the spicy chicken. Stopped at Gyroscope because I was craving Greek food and I wanted it FAST. Right off the bat, I felt extremely welcomed-- the staff is so nice and patient!!! I explained that it was my first time, and the manager was so kind to explain what every ingredient was one by one to me. I went for a half regular chicken (though, was eyeing the spicy chicken... next time) and half steak plate. It came with yellow rice, and I added veggies to it. I also added tzatziki. The plate was very decently priced, about $11. Everything tasted very good! The steak was a bit chewy, I enjoyed the grilled chicken more. Also, the portion sizes are huge - I left feeling very full and satisfied, and the prices are great considering how big the serving is. I ordered two things: a grilled sirloin gyro and zucchini fitters. I LOVED the fritters but was not a fan of the gyro. To begin, all the toppings I requested were not added which was a bit disappointing. I should've gone with tzatziki sauce instead of spicy harissa for a creamier and more refreshing experience. I thought the meat was under seasoned, a bit tough, and undercooked in some parts. The fitters though....those were amazing. The best comparison I could make is to the flavor of onion rings. The consistency is like a clam cake and a biscuit put together. There really isn't much of a zucchini flavor but the caramelized onions they're stuffed with taste amazing. They were fried perfectly. This place just opened couple months ago and I did not know of its existence until my Greek friend told me he had good gyro from here. I am usually not a big fan of gyro and was bit hesitant to dine in here but it was a right choice! We ordered lamb pita, braised pork pita and rice pudding for dessert. It is make your own process like Qdoba or any other taquerias: you choose meat, toppings / rice, sides and finally a sauce. We did tomatoes, cucumbers, red onions for toppings with no rice, fries as side and avocado sauce. The bread was really tasty as it was made right after we ordered and combination of the ingredients went really well. The rice pudding we got was also good with moist and fresh taste. They also gave us loyalty card(nice cashier gave 2 punches each!) so that you can get 9th meal for free. I am glad that we got new Greek place near NEU campus and hope they keep their good work. I have picked up food from here multiple times and it's never disappointed! I usually get the plates and for $12 something (incl. tax), it really can't be beat. You can get either a gyro or a plate and the staff is quite generous with portioning, filling it up to the brim each time - I usually have to split the order into two. I highly recommend the spicy chicken - it's very mild but has a sweet tang to it that I love. Add some banana peppers, rice, tzatziki, feta, and cucumbers, and you've got yourself your next favorite meal. There's plenty of space inside to wait and they'll ring you up contact-free. read more

Everyone in the neighborhood loves gyroscope, and even know none of us know how to pronounce gyro we still proudly eat it! This is a chipotle style CYO gyro/bowl. I thought there was a lot of fresh fillings, and my favorite veggie protein option is their zucchini fritters. The serving size is good amount! My only downside is that they are not very clear on what is "extra". We know guacamole is extra in Chipotle but here I didn't realize the rice was or the grape leaves. This is an eclectic location. Pizza? Yep, Boston Pizza is just down the counter. Sprouts? Uh-huh, right there with Boston Pizza. It's like it's own little mini food court. I got a gyro. If you can get a fresher pita, you're probably gonna be making it yourself. The set up is like Blaze or Chipotle...pick your meal and follow the line and instructions on building it. I got spicy chicken and filled it with other great stuff, including French fries. That's not a typo....I got French fries. Overall, a nice little place to eat. I was born and raised in Greece; this place should not use the term "Greek" in anything that offers. The main type of gyros in Greece is pork. There's no pork here. That's the least of their problems though. I ordered, what they call, gyro with lamp and some irrelevant other ingredients that you'll never come across in Greece in a traditional gyro place. The meat was dry, the pita was like rubber and overall the taste was horrible. Besides the fact that the food is neither Greek nor gyro, it's taste is unacceptable. I would accept the term "fusion" or "Greek-inspired" if the food was tasty but the gyro wrap I tried was simply bad. read more

Came here out of curiosity and after a quick Yelp scan of reviews I decided to give this place a shot. Glad I did! This place is great, you can build out your bowl, gyro or salad with a decent variety of options. The chicken (spicy or reg) is really good, very moist, tender and flavorful. I haven't tried any of the other options because the chicken is already my favorite. Both spicy or regular are good - spicy isn't too hot, it just gives it a slight tang. Always go for the plate as it provides the best bang for your buck. You can get rice, salad, fries, meat (chicken, lamb, beef, or salmon) with two sauces and toppings (olives, feta, onions, cucumbers, tomatoes, or greek pickles). Portions are generous and if you get the chicken option, its under $12! I always get the spicy harissa and avocado tahini as they are the most flavorful (I also just don't like tzatziki . . . so I am sure its good if that's your thing). Service is quick, friendly and the food is pretty fresh. Highly recommend this plate and definitely will be coming back here on the daily!! read more

i've only been here once but it definitely seems like one of my future go-to's for a quick meal! -you can order online for pickup on their website, but oftentimes the website crashes and doesn't load. i'd recommend you just go in person to place your order, since the lines are never long anyway. -the service here is pretty good; the workers are quite friendly and quick with making your order. -both cash and card are accepted. you can also pay with a husky card if you're a northeastern student. 10/14/21 -grilled chicken gyro: you can customize your gyro in many ways in terms of fillings. first you decide on a spread (tzatziki, garlic yogurt, whipped spicy feta, lemon hummus, or spicy harissa). then, you can choose your toppings (green mix, tomato, onion, cucumbers, and green peppers). the prices range depending on your protein of choice, but i opted for grilled chicken. you can top it off with even more toppings such as banana peppers, feta, greek pickles, or black olives. i ended up getting my chicken gyro filled with tzatziki, green mix, tomato, and banana peppers. the size of the gyro was seriously huge and almost the length of my entire forearm. the pita flatbread that they used was super soft. but, it got really soggy easily and made the entire gyro difficult to eat halfway through, since all the toppings were falling out. nevertheless, the total was only $10.43, which is definitely worth the portion. i didn't have any complaints about the individual ingredients that they used either, since they all seemed to be quite fresh. I remember the no-frills, grimy BHOP that used to occupy this space and wow... what a difference! -If you don't want greek food, there's a salad shop and pizza in the same space/room. -I like the Chipotle-like build your own lunch bar. -Generous portions, including the meat. -Nice warm pita Meh: -The spicy chicken was not bland (other reviewers said it was), but it really changed my meal from a Greek vibe to a Mexican vibe. I regretted the choice, as it was too heavily sauced, too oily, and overpowered the other ingredients in my gyro. Cons: -As other reviewers mentioned, the food is very oily. -I practically had to shout my order and the people behind the counter still couldn't hear me well and nearly put the wrong ingredients in my gyro. -I really can't put my finger on it, but I just left doubting I'd return. Was disappointed after reading the great Yelp reviews for this place! Came in on a Wednesday evening and got a spicy chicken plate. The pros: I got the whipped spicy feta and baba ganoush, which were both tasty though the whipped spicy feta wasn't spicy. The serving was also huge! Could easily be two meals. The cons: The spicy chicken was not flavorful at all -- although it looked saucy, it tasted like plain boiled chicken. I also found most of the items to be quite oily. Could also be improved with more sauce on top (maybe because the chicken wasn't flavorful). And my pita wasn't warm! Sad about this since many of the other reviews raved about the fresh pita. Their menu should also include how many of each type of item you can get. I found it a little confusing and my server was not the most friendly. Not sure it compares given the many other Mediterranean choices in Boston. read more

It's ljke Subway for gyros but the quality is even better! I've returned here after a year and the place maintains their high quality. When I got there, I saw a simple menu but enough to satisfy all kinds of customers. Considering price and taste in mind, I picked the spicy chicken gyro. They proceeded to make my gyro bread fresh from pre-made dough. I cannot ask more from a gyro bread as it was soft and warm. Then they gave me the option to pretty much customize my gyro however to my liking. I added almost everything because I am a cheapskate trying to get the most from every dollar and everything fit well. I was surprised to see that they fit so many things on top of a gyro like that. What sets this gyro place apart from others is that they also give you the option to add french fries to your very own gyro! It is delicious as it sounds and I applaud them a lot for that innovation. Although not authentic greek, it gives people what they want and to me that's what makes this place so great. After spending 3 1/2 seconds mourning the loss of BHOP, I decided to try this swanky new greek spot. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I was very pleasantly surprised! I have been twice in the past week and both experiences have far exceeded my expectations. You can choose between a gyro, plate or salad - and then can choose from a variety of add-ons (spreads, proteins, sauces, toppings, etc.) I have had both the rice plate and the salad - HIGHLY recommend both. Full disclosure, I eat a lot. There are far and few places where I cannot finish my entire meal. I take great pride in that. However, Gyroscope is now on the list. The portion sizes are HUGE. Both times, I have been defeated, and have embarrassingly had to ask for a to-go lid. Shame and regret later turns to rejoice when I can enjoy the leftovers. Besides that, the food is very flavorful and fresh. I enjoy the variety you get in each dish. At the $10-$15 range, this place is well-worth a visit. I don't want to be the first one to give this place a rating below 5 stars because the place has a really beautiful atmosphere, great staff, and I know that I will be returning to see if they have anything new to offer. However, I got a salad with falafel and hummus and it was somewhat bland. The hummus tasted somewhat like organic peanut butter and the falafel was pretty dry and hard to eat. I don't eat meat so it was basically the only food option for me that I'd love to see improve!
