Went for the lunch buffet. Took my colleague who has never tried Indian food. Food was good but Service was pathetic. The owner Mandeep has no manners. Highly discriminatory. He was cursing, If a person is using a bowl to take any liquid item from the main dishes. He stops them and tell them not use it for anything other than dessert. Well my friend you have to put a note which is visible to everyone. Not high on the wall where people cannot see it. And then, if someone took it by mistake, ignore it since they are there to eat food with respect. Mandeep is not telling everyone to not to use it. Other women in the restaurant are using the bowl for the main dishes. My colleague pointed it out and he ignored it and said It is Ok for them to use it and start cursing in front of other people in the restaurant. Very embarrassing. Will never go back to this restaurant again. People go to restaurant to get served with love and respect not to get commanded or cursed for something which they are not doing wrong. It's not a big deal to use a bowl which is there on the table to eat. A person is using it for the purpose. Whether they use it for dessert or butter chicken should not matter. We respect the business but the business has to respect the customer as well. No one likes to be cursed while having their food. No matter what how good is the food. Place is not big, but has been set up well to accommodate as many people as possible without feeling too cramped. Started with Mango Lassi and Salty Lassi aka chaas. Presentations was lovely. Dal Makhani and Chole (Chanaa Masaalaa) was tasty. Tad bit spicy, but in a good way. So don't go above medium, unless you enjoy really Missed the fact that you get Rice along with Entree. Tumeric is by far my favorite Punjabi restaurant in Merced County. I've tried them all and there is none better. Going in and dining for dinner is a great experience - the food is fresh and delicious every time. The Taj Mahal beer is by far my all-time favorite beer. They even have lunch buffet which is a great way to try different dishes and get an idea of what you have a taste for. I recently became vegetarian and Indian food is great for vegetarians that like to keep their food fun, flavorful and interesting. I've been ordering online to get the 10% off and my food lasts me throughout the week so I can pack for lunch and warm the food up when I'm ready. First, a corrections! The buffet is now 7 days a week. yay So if you like savory you're gonna wanna try their Bhindi Masala (okra) especially in the summer. Vegans, vegetarians & plant based eaters should get the Tofu Tikka Masala (let em know your dietary restrictions ahead of time). Began Bharta (eggplant) good too. sometimes they even have it on the buffet. if vegan takeout is your game order the Roti instead of naan since it doesn't have butter. Wow! Dal, curries and tandoori vegetable are all served up fast here‼ buffet: staff here a very knowledgeable about vegetarian and vegan compatible foods. When I came for lunch they only had one or two items in the main buffet that were vegan. They sometimes have up to four different items. It might make sense to call ahead if you're a plant-based eater. "But Athonia, what do I do about condiments?" You ask. request the green mint chutney of course (they say has milk though you can't tell from looking)?!! don't forget to request Achar pickled condiment too. Naan is made to order for buffet. Should be ready to go so you could eat it with your food. Rice spoon is just laid down inside the rice cooker on top of all the rice. So everyone's hands are basically touching the rice. A man and woman stood behind the bar area staring at diners as we ate. It was really uncomfortable. For that reason alone I won't be back. The place wasn't very busy and the server basically forgot us and we had to go find them to put in our order. The inside is alright. I gotta be honest. I love Indian food. There are so many spices and flavors. I ordered garlic Naan and I have never had it better. I also had the sweet turmeric naan. More of a dessert but delish. Came here at 5 with my family of 3 including me and the place was absolutely packed but the environment was super great! A waiter with the name abhi helped us be seated. We ordered soya chap and it was super tasty and creamy. Then we ordered Butter chicken and garlic naan and all the things I heard about the naan was correct it was so good and very easy to take bite by bite unlike other places. The butter chicken had the right amount of spice (I ordered mild and it was pretty mild) The butter chicken also was creamy and delicious. Me and my family took 3 tooti fruity shakes for to-go and they were a new taste for me but still okay something to try again for sure but just a little too sweet. We went to turmeric Indian cuisine after my son's game and not being from the area, we basically looked up Indian restaurants on Yelp and decided on this one. We were not disappointed at all. Their buffet is pretty decent and pretty well priced. They have a lot of selections. Our kids, who eat like adults, we paid kids price for, so that was a good value. Naan is included in their buffet, they give you an option of regular or garlic and make it fresh for you when you get there. The servers are incredible. They are very attentive and really value the customer experience. The parking can be a little bit of an issue but not too bad, We were there for a later lunch on a Saturday so maybe that's why. The seating in the restaurant is pretty good. There are booths. It's Spacey. The bathrooms are clean. They have a very nice mural on the wall and have good music playing. It's not a super fancy place for a big date experience but it's good for families. They do have outdoor seating as well and the environment is nice and quiet. Their food is really good. Food was Sooo Goood . I was surprised that every dish in the buffet was actually really tasty . In most Indian restaurants there one or two good dishes , and the rest subpar .... So I was pleasantly surprised that all dishes were really good here . The butter and garlic nan were super soft and fresh . Service was prompt and friendly . TLDR: it was fine. Went for the lunch buffet. About $17- before tip. This begs the question: "Do you tip for a buffet?" I sat myself, got my own plate, and then served myself. I asked for drinks that never arrived, and then paid at the counter (that is to say no check was brought to my table.) So, I did like... all the work myself. Am I supposed to tip? Delicious food and drinks. I am addicted to the chicken pakora with sauces, butter chicken and biryani rice. The restaurant is homey with enough ambiance to enjoy date night. I did have amusing misunderstanding over the rum and coke I ordered a few years ago (I received one glass of rum and one glass of coke) which lead to some hilarious moments.
