Tumeric is by far my favorite Punjabi restaurant in Merced County. I've tried them all and there is none better. Going in and dining for dinner is a great experience - the food is fresh and delicious every time. The Taj Mahal beer is by far my all-time favorite beer. They even have lunch buffet which is a great way to try different dishes and get an idea of what you have a taste for. I recently became vegetarian and Indian food is great for vegetarians that like to keep their food fun, flavorful and interesting. I've been ordering online to get the 10% off and my food lasts me throughout the week so I can pack for lunch and warm the food up when I'm ready. I get nice, friendly service when I decide to eat there and love the music and decor. 10 out of 10 every time at Tumeric in the Merced Promenade.

Delicious Food & Wonderful First Experience! This was my first time ever trying Indian food, and I'm so glad we chose Turmeric Indian Cuisine, we definitely picked the right place! The food was absolutely amazing, full of flavor, perfectly spiced, and served in generous portions that were well worth the price. Everything we ordered tasted fresh and authentic. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, happy to answer questions and offer recommendations, which made the experience even better. If you're new to Indian cuisine or already a fan, I highly recommend giving this place a try.

First, a corrections! The buffet is now 7 days a week. yay So if you like savory you're gonna wanna try their Bhindi Masala (okra) especially in the summer. Vegans, vegetarians & plant based eaters should get the Tofu Tikka Masala (let em know your dietary restrictions ahead of time). Began Bharta (eggplant) good too. sometimes they even have it on the buffet. if vegan takeout is your game order the Roti instead of naan since it doesn't have butter. Wow! Dal, curries and tandoori vegetable are all served up fast here‼ buffet: staff here a very knowledgeable about vegetarian and vegan compatible foods. When I came for lunch they only had one or two items in the main buffet that were vegan. They sometimes have up to four different items. It might make sense to call ahead if you're a plant-based eater. "But Athonia, what do I do about condiments?" You ask. request the green mint chutney of course (they say has milk though you can't tell from looking)?!! don't forget to request Achar pickled condiment too. Theres a few phenomenal murals inside too. Ok well Let me know on that 'insta' how that went for you. It worked real good for me. Www.instagram.com/Athonia.Cappelli or @athonia on almost everything else.

Pretty good Indian food. Kinda pricy though. Mostly the service is good apart from one time. The place wasn't very busy and the server basically forgot us and we had to go find them to put in our order. The inside is alright. I'd say there are better places to get Indian but it's a good option if you're taking the bus from the UC.

We stopped in just before 6:00 and we're greeted by a friendly woman getting the restaurant ready for opening. We later came to find out she was an owner. She was so sweet and offered to seat us before the servers actually showed up, as they had worked a local event that day. The waitress soon came and our wonderful experience began. They have a great wine list and wine cocktails. We ordered three dishes and were pleased with the presentation and flavors. Pica-Pau - a traditional Portuguese dish with beef and spices in a delicious broth. It's served with bread for soaking up the broth. I really enjoyed this dish, especially the broth. Crostini di Mare - shrimp on crostini's with a tangy garlicky sauce on top. This was my favorite and I wouldn't hesitate to order this again. Sea Legs - octopus over a sweet potato mash. This was tasty as well and the octopus was cooked perfectly. The sweet potato mash is divine!! We also had a Caprese salad, pretty average, but nice presentation. The outdoor seating area is comfortable and so nice to people watch on the main drag. We really enjoyed ourselves and plan to go back next time we visit. The service is excellent, portions in line with tapas and atmosphere is great.

I enjoyed my wine and if you're a sweet tooth, dessert wine is the way to go! We ordered the Spicy Moroccan Lamb Meatballs with some cornbread and really enjoyed it! I do think the dishes are slightly on the pricier side, but the quality and finesse of the dishes makes them definitely worth it. Our meatballs were so soft and tasty. And we couldn't help but finish all the leftover sauce it came with by dipping our bread in it! I enjoy the vibe of the inside. I love all the blue dim lighting and there's even a small stage for folks to perform on busier nights. The patio is in a prime spot if you wanna enjoy the sidewalk vibes, especially on a Friday/Saturday night or on Thursday's if downtown is hosting a street fair! Def coming back!

The restaurant was not very busy and it took almost 20 mins just to be seated at our table. We then took our place at the table and we waited another 10-15 mins for someone to wait on us. We kindly flagged the young male server there and asked him if he could get our server to assist us. The young female server finally came out to assist us - she was not very welcoming but proceeded to take our drink order. It took almost 15 minutes to get our mimosas and water. She did not greet us, inquiry if it was our first time there or gave us suggestions on the menu. She then proceeded to take our order which took a while to get our food. The plus - everyone enjoyed our meals from the way they were prepared to the ingredients. No one ever came to our table and gave us any water nor did they ask for a refill on our drinks. During this time I peeked around the corner and saw staff just sitting in the back talking to one another. I tried to keep the experience positive for my group of friends but they were also growing concerned about the lack of hospitality. The lunch schedule was only until 2 pm but because of Rainbird's delay in seating us, taking our drink orders as well as the slight delay we felt we were now being rushed to finish our lunch, I also wanted to celebrate our friend's birthday and I brought a cake - the server proceeded to tell me it would be a $5 charge per person if I cut the cake there. She did offer to bring a complimentary dessert for our guest of honor. In my opinion, due to the service we were not receiving the cake fee should have been at least discounted or offset due to the lackluster enthusiasm and service. As we were trying to finish our lunch and take pictures at this beautiful establishment we could see the "side eyes" of staff rushing to get us out the door. I am a firm believer of supporting small businesses in Merced since I was born and raised there and let's face it - Merced has very limited fine dining and we wanted to do something nice for us. In order for small businesses to thrive in this town they need our consumerism to stay in business. As I read from all the exemplary reviews on this platform we unfortunately had a very bad experience with this lovely establishment. A group of us came from Madera so that we could meet our gals from Merced as a middle location. Needless to say we were very disappointed with the service as well as the treatment we received from Rainbird. Next year we will choose another location for our next gathering. Please do better Rainbird.

The crab and lobster ravioli as our main course didn't disappoint - lots of sweet crab and lobster meat stuffed into each ravioli, all draped with a creamy rich sauce. We topped off our meal with another classic - crunchy cannoli fingers. Mmm, good! Our friendly server gave us excellent wine service and food suggestions. The back dining room was cheerfully noisy and gave off the vibe of eating at your Italian Grandmother's house. We had a great time, highly recommended.

Looking at the exterior, we could only guess what was coming. Walking in just after opening gave us opportunity to marvel over the beautifully appointed interior without bothering yet to arrive lunch customers. After perusing the menu, which we had somewhat studied pre decision to dine here, our waiter Matteo filled in item by item our understanding of the many menu options. With his help and suggestions we four decided to share two "starters" - the whipped feta - half classic and half smoky. Both were delicious! We chose the 4 piece Bruschetta with a suggested cheese added. It too rang the delicious bell. We picked paninis for our main course: Flank steak, French dip and Prosciutto & Fig Jam. Each would be served with a side salad - either Spinach or Spring. We all chose Spinach. The sandwiches were full of the components as described. My wife's Prosciutto & Fig Jam had prosciutto from end to end countering a review to the contrary I had read. The other paninis were likewise filled. The Spinach side salads were loaded with walnuts and cranberries. The amount of feta was adequate. the total amount of salad was more than I expected. My wife ordered a dessert to go, and just reported to me that was superb. We had to forgo any wine with lunch as we had miles to drive home afterward. But I await the day we can spend the night in town and enjoy some selections of their impressive wine stock and not have to drive home. A Friday evening comes to mind. It must happen so we can try out more items of their well chosen fare. A couple of the pokes look scrumptious and a few more of the paninis await my gastric juices. We were pleasantly surprised by Damon bringing us a complimentary Chocolate Panini served with house made whipped zcream (who even serves that these days?) He said that we HAD to try his #1 selling item from the whole menu before we left. We tasted, and learned why it had reached that status. Good in appearance. Perfect in creation, Superb in taste. Kudos by the bucketful to Damon, Matteo, and the rest of the staff who helped this Birthday Bash be warm & fuzzy and highly enjoyed. If you haven't yet. I suggest you put Camp 4 on your high priority list and enjoy the experience as I'm sure you will. We sure did!
