I've been here many times. And I haven't left a review but today I had to. I'm glad we were able to squeeze in since we got here late after we were told to leave At Capo before the game was over. But we got to meet a new Dodger fan he followed us here. And now we are going keep coming here. The game is still going on. Not told to leave because they were slow while people were about to ordered Glad Turnbull is not that way. Ash let helped us getting a couple orders of wings and slides. Fries and a couple rounds of beer. We got to watch the end of the Dodgers game. And the end of the Denver Minnesota game after the Dodger game. Fraud! Beware.... I paid my check at 11pm and the next day my bank was calling me....they charged me two different amounts.. then at closing 1:30am they charge me again a different amount and my bank stopped payment and they tried 8 more times different amounts... at closing.... like the waitresses were passing my debit card around... I had to cancel my card and took me forever to get my money back....a good time turned into a headache the next day.... .not cool....not worth the trouble.... read more

Came to catch the band Steel Rod rocking Turnbulls and was pleasantly surprised by the food. Turnbull's has been putting on great music for years in Uptown Whittier. They have a large outdoor patio to catch the vibe on the street, but tonight we were inside for Steel Rod an amazing band of talented musicians that can play anything! From 70's to today they've got all genres covered! Our waitress was friendly and the bartender was pouring some great drinks. Ordered the Onion Rings to share and wow! Perfectly battered in a tasty beer batter and great crunch to them! Also ordered some wings, the Asian Zing which were tasty and with a sweet heat kick to them! They were really good too! The music was litty over here! We were bar hoping and decided to give them a try. We walked in, found a table and had a few drinks. Let me give the front door guy an amazing shout out!! THANK YOU FOR LETTING US BRING OUR FOOD IN AND HOLDING IT AT THE DOOR!!! Its those little things that go a long long way with customer service. We appreciate you!! AMAZING DRINKS, VIBE and met several folks here that had bad experiences at Flashbackz ! We started off at Flashbackz , but after poor customer service and making us pay for a drink we didn't touch due to low balling liquor integrity we decided to leave the spot and come over next door. We look forward to coming back with friends and family! The DJ had an amazing playlist and can read the crowd very well ! The bartenders are sweet. Our mixologist Desiree was beyond amazing. You may see my previous review of when I was assaulted with a glass at this business...the manager has since replied and is saying my friend threw the glass....as the 3 of us were at a table I would love to review the same footage and see how the glass flew across the room and hit me from 1 foot to my left. Turnbull's really embodies what it means to be in Whittier. It's a nice little dance bar that sometimes gets too crowded with "middle of the spectrum" to older Millennials. Also a solid sprinkling of Generation X will be here regularly. Drink prices are fair and the music is usually good. The location is in the heart of Uptown Whittier which is like a catch-22. It's where everything's happening in the city, but the city itself isn't the best for "happening" due to freeway access and accessibility in general. That's not Turnbull's fault, necessarily, but just makes it harder for non-locals to venture out and land here. Convenient for me though! read more

I've only been there 3x, and the last time I was there was on Thursday Jul 10, 25. My girlfriend and I sat on the patio which was nice other than the flies and mosquitoes . We were there for Martini Thursday. Needless to say they were great ! Our several was Maryann and she was so friendly and had a conversation with us. The Ambiance is popping here. They have a DJ on Friday nights and he's playing all the good hits. The drinks were good started with a whiskey sour (forgot to take a picture) and ended with a pacifico michelada. Also tried the tiki drink but it was too sweet for my liking. I ran into this place by accident not gonna lie lol. I was actually heading to another place but they had a huge line so when I started walking back this place caught my attention because they had a nice outside patio deck and it's also kid friendly. Once inside, first thing you see is the bar to your right and on your left some high tables. I did ask if they had any booths available which they did. They had cool photos on the wall hanging I was able to get one of them. Service was great! Marianne was amazing! As we were new to the place she made some great and point suggestions! The patio got filled up quite quickly after we sat down so good thing we snagged a table when we did. We tried the pretzel for appetizers but it was not it. It was burnt and the cheese dip was just not right. The pork sliders were delicious though! I was there a few weeks ago (Thurs Jul 24) around 6pm and after spending almost $200 the lady who was serving us had the nerve to get an attitude with someone in my group because we said we were going to "sing karaoke next door." She went on this rant about the Owner next door "stealing their customers"... and she was very unprofessional. Keep in mind we just spent almost $200 on food and drinks. I dont know what they have going on with the Owner next door but I feel the customer should never be included in whatever beef they have. Unfortunately, she got an attitude with us AFTER I tipped her. If she would have made that comment just 2 minutes before I would never have tipped her. So I didn't come here for the food, I came here because it was my cousin's going away party. It was a lot of fun. A very mature crowd. I would say unless you are over 35 it's not really your crowd. I love the band that was playing and the music the DJ played. Although the bar tender may need to learn to expand what kind of drinks he know how to make because I asked for a gold rush and he looked at me like I was speaking a total different language. They have a new(ish) manager Wendy and she is always super friendly and checking on tables. Definitely great having her on the floor and making sure there's consistency with service. The restaurant hosts 'Trivia Night' every Wednesday night where you use your phone to play along with everyone. My family had a lot of fun. It can be a bit loud, if you're looking for something more intimate a pub is usually not a place for that. The staff was really accommodating to us and my baby stroller I also had to fit inside. Me and the Fiancé frequent here quite often. I want to tell you, we always are well taken care of (even if they don't seem to recognize us no matter how often we come, lol) but nevertheless we are treated great!
