FOOD,SERVICE, AMBIANCE... Where do I start?!! So I tried Mike's for the first time a couple of days ago, THIS IS THE SPOT! I was surprised at how nice everyone was! I was pleasantly greeted by ALEX, who when I told him this was my first time he began to show me the menu, as well as make recommendations! The menu is full of dishes for the whole family, even the pickiest of eaters can find plenty to choose from! The ambiance was reminiscent of an old school diner, cool decor and a very mellow atmosphere! I ordered a double cheese burger combo, an avocado cheese burger with fried zucchini, WOW JUST WOW! Everything was perfect, I even ordered a chocolate shake that was super delicious and the ultimate finish to the meal! Yesterday, I returned to mikes for a late lunch. This time I had a difficult time deciding what I wanted, and let me tell you ALEX and this woman who I think was one of his assistants helped me decide. This red carpet of service that they show at Mike's makes me only want to come here when I'm eating out! This time I went with the asada fries, and a California burger (lettuce wrapped). I've been coming here for over a decade and noticed that the breakfast burritos have gone down in quality, size, and consistency over the years. Recently they made a mistake with my order where I called in 3 burritos and specifically asked for 1 without sausage and bacon. I double checked the menu beforehand and made that clear when ordering. After driving 25 minutes, I found that all 3 burritos had pork in them. When I called back, the employee that took my order told me "that's not what you ordered," which felt dismissive and a bit frustrating. She told me to come back with the burrito but I was already too far to drive back. Afterwards, I spoke with the manager and he offered to replace the burrito when I was back in the area, which I appreciated. read more

These kind of burger joints are everywhere but Mike's is special. Go inside and enjoy your meal. The restaurant is very pleasant and cozy. The owner is very personable and you can tell he wants his customers happy. Delicious food is also on the menu. The Chef Salad is plentiful. read more

I ordered the pancake combo using Uber Eats. I live close by so the food came super hot which was great. The eggs were nice and fluffy and a good quantity, the bacon was cooked perfectly, not too crunchy and not too soft. The pancakes are pretty average, similar to what'd you get a most hole in the wall breakfast places. I've been here several times throughout the years, although I didn't get it on this order, their breakfast burrito is definitely worth a try. It is a good size, well portioned ingredients and not too much of one thing over the other, and they give you a delicious salsa to complement the burrito. The food always comes out quick, the staff are friendly and the inside of the restaurant has plenty of seating and is clean. I would recommend to come here if you live close by, but overall it is very similar to most small places in this category. read more

Catching up on my reviews, I believe this one is from a year ago. Mikes has been a number of different food places of the years. I remember when my friends and I would go here after school (la Mirada high school) it was a Spikes at one time teriyaki chicken. However, Mikes has been able to hold on to this spot for a good while now. I've eaten here three times since it's been Mikes and the burgers (shredded lettuce) and fries (crispy) are done old school. which I think other places miss the mark on how burgers and fries should be served. The Service has always been polite and the restaurant is a good size with a good amount of seating available. I love the hot rod and biker signs on the walls. Has an old burger joint feel to it that I love from when I was younger. Wishing them many more years moving forward. read more

My dad had been here once before and loved the food. So he invited my mom and I out for breakfast and I had never been here. We ordered our food and while I was getting my drink I noted a small gnat flying around the side machine. The area didn't look dirty though. We sat down and one of the workers came over and brought our silverware and napkins. I thought it was unusual being that it seemed like a place where you order and seat yourself. We got there somewhat close to opening and it was really warm inside. I wished we sat and ate on their tiny patio since I started to sweat while eating once we got our food. I had the Huevos Rancheros and they were actually pretty good. This time around my dad said he found the steak to be quite chewy and they had forgotten to add bell peppers to his potatoes . My mom had no complaints with her eggs and hash browns though. Other than the gnat flying around the sodas and there being no ice cold air flow I gave this place three stars since I found my food dish to be quite delicious. read more

Literally local staple for us. We have been in the neighborhood since 2005 and Mike's has been a mainstay for all those years. The hard shell beef tacos are stupendously delish. Today I got a large chili cheese fries. (I added the cilantro and diced onions as well as the pickled habanero onions) @Mikes highly suggest you offer these as options. Service is always fast and courteous. This is a spacious diner if you want to meet up with friends after a bike ride or Saturday morning for coffee. Wish they sponsored a car meet up on the weekend. Thought it was like something from Popeyes or McDonald's but no, it was worse. The chicken was like a dry piece of breast meat that was steamed. I look over at other orders like a Turkey club and that looks normal. Furthermore, I felt the prices were quite high for the portion sizes and the quality of the food. I expected a better food for the cost. Not really recommending Mike's Hamburgers based on my experience. The combination of inconsistent quality and high prices makes it a difficult place to justify frequent visits. Maybe just get a club sandwich, that looks decent. Came here to eat a quick lunch before work because of how close by it is. Service was quick and the food was hot and delicious. The cheeseburgers were hot with just the right amount of toppings and perfectly amount of dressing. But the fires were the star of the meal. I have been going to Mike's for over 15 years and I could always count on their breakfast burritos being filling, delicious and having the perfect balance of ingredients, but today was probably the last time I ever get their breakfast burrito. Lately it is REALLY small, the majority of it is loaded with way too many potatoes that had no flavor and had what seemed like barely a full egg and a few sprinkles of bacon bits in it. In my past experiences with them, the eggs and bacon were the perfect ratio to the flavorful potatoes in the burrito, now it's just all flavorless potatoes and a thin little piece of egg. Very sad to take them off my regularly frequented breakfast spots! My other go to was their side of biscuits and gravy which was affordable and delicious, but has gone up way too much for such a simple meal! It does not make sense. Even before charging my credit card, I told the lady at the window that they have 2 combo special. The supervisor was there too and overheard. Yet, still charged me full price. Two combos 16.99 not $24. It's illegal to advertise one price and charge another. I handed over my card to pay thinking she would fix it.
