Pleasant lunch spot for us as we ventured around Lake country and did a little bit of morning fishing. Service was good and food came pretty quickly. The halibut burger was alright, nothing to rave about. A solid choice though. The white wine mussels were a little bit fishy but the sauce was nice. Chicken tenders came with a huge portion and all delicious, meaty pieces. The coconut prawns were the only thing I didn't love. The prawns were great and cooked well, but the breading wasn't great and the sauces were just not great. I didn't like the sweet chili Thai sauce at all. And the white sauce tasted mostly of mayo. We also ordered fish and chips to share and those were good. It's solid food and solid service. Definitely a good choice to stop by if you're in the area and searching for a bite read more

I love their food, my mom and I come at least once a week in the summer, while I visit home (living back east so I only come home once a year) the only thing I would say is that I wish you guys would put the spicy quesadilla back on the menu. Had great expectations, and then fell flat on my face. My sister just moved into the area, so we had a family dinner here the other night with her new roommate and her father as well. My parents and sister had been here prior, greatly enjoying the burgers and mac and cheese, so they were excited to share this great place with a patio with me and my sisters roommate. Our table ordered the chicken curry, the vindaloo curry, caprese salad, gorgonzola burger, taco salad, and quesadilla, with pitchers of sangria to wash it all down. I tried the chicken curry, vindaloo, and caprese salad. All three were bland and disappointing. The mozzarella in the caprese had 0 flavor, and even the balsamic was slacking. The same for the vindaloo. I could taste the vegetables but almost no spice with the curry. The chicken curry needed more heat and curry in itself. The naan it came with was at least good. I will say, the red sangria was delicious. It wasn't too sweet and went down very smooth. The biggest saving grace for this establishment is the staff though. They were overly helpful and friendly. The majority of the outdoor patio seating are 2-4 seats, we had a party of 6.... We wanted to place two tables together in order to fit us all comfortably, and they let us. A table that seats 6 even opened up, but was near the live music and we wanted to be able to converse, so we requested to keep the mash up of tables we had created and they had no issue with it. I will give this place another chance. I love the location, the outdoor patio, the live music, the staff, and the sangria. But next time I will definitely stick to the American fare, as my dad still loves the burger here. Hopefully next time I visit, my updated review will be 5 stars. read more

My first bar restaurant visit in kelowna with my significant other. I don't think I will be back. Apparently it came recommended because it's cheap. That's not a good thing in my book. I'd rather pay more and get quality. We ordered our drinks and were talking when we noticed a few fruit flies. Not a big fan of fruit flies, let's be honest: who is? And we ordered food: nachos. And more beer. And we didn't order fruit flies but they sure surrounded us to the extent we were waving to chase them away. You get it: fruit flies are not going away. No matter how hard you're waving. The food arrived. And with the food more fruit flies. We should've left. But we didn't. Guess the conversation was that good. The nachos were awful. I won't even try to describe it. We asked the waitress why there were so many fruit flies. Her reaction is one for the books, it's actually become a joke around the house "oh, it's fruit fly season..." Seriously? Not going back. read more

I went for steak night and met my demise. Ordered a rare steak, as always... it was pink ‍... but it really doesn't matter how you cook a piece of meat like that... it won't change a thing. Hands down the best pub food I've ever had. And the drink menu was crazy impressive! Every fun drink imaginable plus all the best classic beers. It's right on the water next to a marina which is pretty, we're in town from Vancouver and came for lunch and everything we ordered was SO good, their gochujang salsa dip is to die for and (random but) their tartar sauce is the best we've ever had! Their homemade soups are delicious, the ambience of the bar is a classic homey-feeling sports bar with great music playing and the service was also 10/10! We had Traci as our server and she was the best, helped us narrow down our choices as we wanted to order the whole menu and was super sweet & great at her job. We're leaving town soon but already planning how many more times we can drop by before driving home! Pool table is also a major plus! read more

I've been going to this place once or twice a summer for the past 25 years or so. It's been up and down. The last few years, tho, really great. We always go on wing night. The wings are breaded, which I don't love, but the flavours are great and they're very filling. We went this past week and it seemed like the kitchen was having a tough time. The hostess asked us if we were ok waiting 45 mins or more for food. Yup. We got seated on the patio, which is beautiful by the way. Then the server came, same warning. She got our order in quick and it came in like twenty. The speed (despite being in the weeds back there) was appreciated and the service was great. Awesome lakeside pub. What a great experience! My husband and I went there for dinner tonight, and had the most amazing food, dynamic service, and fabulous atmosphere that we could have asked for. His steak dinner was incredible (the aioli butter was killer!), and my salmon was cooked to perfection. I highly recommend getting a seat on the patio, as the lake view was just what we needed on our night out. We saw more dishes on the menu that we'd like to try (lobster grilled cheese sandwich & a bacon-caeser drink) so we're going back for lunch tomorrow! Decided it was worth mentioning... 10 minutes after posting this review one of my friends finally lost their patience and went to find out what was happening with our food. Not only was the server completely unapologetic about it, she initially tried to pretend not to see him...as he stood directly in front of the server station. We ended up walking out, over an hour and a half later...with NO FOOD. Seriously, I hate this place. read more

Sure, there are pubs with better food, or better service, or even a better patio, but, for me, Turtle Bay is still near the top in all those categories, and gets 4 stars. Sometimes you can even grab a Groupon for them, which is great. Try the iceberg! I forget what beer they're using in it, but it is perfect with that lime slush. read more

Until yesterday I'd never had bad food at Turtle Bay. Friend and I both had the fish and chips and both didn't finish our meals as we started feeling queasy about half way through. .. cole slaw was "off" (tasted really funny, and I normally like cole slaw), fish was blah and greasy; fries were soggy .... it was like the food had been made earlier (days, I think in the case of the cole slaw) and re heated when we ordered it. Worst part? We're both sick as hell today ..Thanks Turtle Bay, for the mild food poisoning On the plus side, our server was great! read more

After an evening of partaking wine with friends, they recommended we partake in one of their favorite next day meals, a lobster grilled cheese from Turtle Bay. So we packed the kids up and headed out. We went into the family area with four kids and four adults, looking for something to fill our bellies. With four kids and four adults, I know that is enough to keep her hopping. The food was good. The burgers were juicy and the lobster grilled cheese was definitely tasty. The food didn't take too long either. After we got in, the small area of about 3 tables did fill up with other families, and the waitress did seem to be a little flustered. Being a server, there were a few things the waitress could have done to be a little more efficient, like doing a round of visiting tables doing a few different tasks, rather than doing things at one table at a time and heading back to the waitress station. It would have sped things up. And I would have liked a coffee refill, which I didn't get. I will give the benefit of the doubt as she did mention she was new. I was there at one time and it does take a bit of time to get a rhythm. I also know that table seating times can throw to for a loop. Would I give it another try? Yes, definitely. Like I said, the food was tasty. I did knock it a little bit for service, but I could easily go back and bump it up if the service got a teensy bit more organized. Tip to the waitress, don't do one task in the eating area at a time. Do a few. Take an order, then go to the next table and take plates, then go to your server station. You're taking twice as many steps back and forth than you need to. read more

Good place to have some drinks after work.... If it's nice weather you can sit outside at the lake. Have a look out for groupons... The food has always been ok too. Not amazing but worth the money, of course especially when you have a voucher... alwys had good experience with the friendly personnel. They have cocktail specials often, they're ok but not amazing. Came here for a Mother's Day and it was busy. Got sat right away and it took half an hour for the waitress to come over and get our food order. Another half hour goes by and she comes back and to let us know that whats we'd order was no longer on the menu (honestly not her fault, she'd just started, but why was still on the menu and why'd it take so long to tell us?). After we'd changed our order it took an hour for our food to arrive and. It was lukewarm. Ordered the lobster and prawn Mac n' cheese and i couldn't find a single piece of lobster and it's was incredibly bland. The waitress comp'ed us a cheese cake since everything took so long, but I don't really feel that most of it was her fault, it was only her third day. The manger should've apologized, but they were completely absent. Also overheard the manger complaining about our waitress to another table, which is completely unprofessional. Worst experience ever!!!!! One hour and 10 minutes to get braised Ribs with risotto! And then we were told because they were frozen and that's why they took so long. We could not even pull the meat apart!! The ribs were not actually ribs it was just one really big ugly chunk of meat with barely any Risotto underneath. Super Disappointed and I'm impressed! I enjoy eating here although the menu is limited and a little stale. It can get really busy on the weekends and seems to be busy all the time in the summer. Nice views of Wood Lake from both inside the restaurant and out on the patio. The building and decor is dated and run down. The service I would rate on a scale of 2/5 to 5/5 - not always consistent but staff are always friendly. I wouldn't say it has great nightlife but for Winfield it IS where it's happening. If I were to nit pick I would say that $8 for a small piece of carrot cake is exorbitant however the carrot cake is delicious. read more

Had a very satisfying meal here . The Hot Caesar had a lot of roasted vegetables, chicken, bacon. Had very good flavor and was a large portion. Also had the Okanagan Flatbread w goat cheese and prosciutto. I enjoyed it. Our server was running her tail off but got it all handled. Unbelievably atrocious customer service. I will not give this establishment any business after what has occurred due to complete lack of inattentiveness, respect for a customer, etc... A business that wishes to prosper should want to make sure customers come to your establishment--not drive them away as is the case with my incident with Turtle Bay Pub. I was trying to obtain a gift certificate in a large sum to this establishment for a gift and was in contact with Turner and Ginger--for over 2 weeks I was told the gift certificate could be accommodated. A kink had to be worked out with their system and they would get back to me. For 2 weeks the only person doing any of the calling was from my end to them and each time I was assured it would get worked out. My final call today to them resulted in speaking with Ginger. In a completely stand off way, like she ahd no idea who I was nor had never been in contact with Turtle Bay Pub about this request before, she said, as she was laughing- laughing!, that this was not going to happen, as in it never would have happened ever! I was completely dumbfounded. It was like speaking with Jekyll and Hyde from the other conversations I had had with this establishment. I was in the midst of conveying to her that it would have been respectful to say on the other countless phone calls and waiting over the past two weeks was that 'I am sorry we can't accommodate your request' but she had already hung up laughing! Extremely Disappointing! Thought we would take a drive and try Turtle Bay for Sunday Brunch. Got a table on the patio no problem, and ordered our breakfast within a few minutes - all good, right? - WRONG!. After 30 minutes, we asked how the meals were coming along and were told the kitchen was very busy, and shouldnt be long. Waited and watched, inquired again, (given the same response) then waited and watched some more. After almost an hour of waiting, we finally left...... Drove down the road to the Jammery where the service and food was fabulous. read more
