Looks a little daunting from the outside, there were few cars in the parking lot and a sign that said don't feed the alligators but the reviews were good so we went in. Casey was great, chit chatted, shared that alligators like Cheetos, then introduced Pedro the one eyed gator. Quite interesting. Food was good too! If we travel through that area again, we will stop.

Turtle landing is absolutely fantastic! My husband, brother in-law, and myself included all agreed that the hamburgers we had were some of the best burgers we've had in years. The fried mushrooms were absolutely massive and delicious dipped in the ranch they served them with. Definitely a go to if your a mushroom lover like we are. Walking in it felt like home and the boss lady ,as my husband has dubbed her, really made you feel like you were family. Ready to go back and enjoy some more good food and drinks soon! 100/10 absolutely recommend

Several reviews mentioned that the burger was great. That is an understatement! We're on the return legs of a 3 1/2 month motor home trip, having started in Tucson AZ and all the way to the Carolinas. I've eaten a few burgers on this trip and I'm not exaggerating when I say this burger is the BEST in the nation. Drive in Diners and Dives, get out here! Janyne is the owner and cook and she knows what she's doing. From the first bite, I knew I was going to eat it all, which I seldom do. When I was finished, my tastebuds were begging for more. The locals were some of the friendliest people I've ever met. The service and friendliness of the server, Janyne's granddaughter Casey added to the fun, especially when she took us to the back deck and called the alligator. I don't think I've ever met anyone who was as knowledgeable about gators! Memorable experience. Thank you all at Turtle Landing!

Great find! This place has great food and wonderful service at a very economical price. The food will surprise you as to how good it is. Cold beer and pool tables with a nice outdoor deck and boat up dock. The patrons of the place are the friendliest folks.

Excellent food! Great atmosphere! Pool table inside with plenty of tvs and nice staff. Lots of outdoor covered seating if you're bringing the whole crew. Don't let the rough exterior fool you! We drove in to visit the Science center and left hungry. Located Turtle Landing on Maps and saw the great reviews. No lie, best dive bar we've found.

    Turtle Landing with "Uncle Dave"

My family, friend and I were in New Orleans on vacation and took a private tour with "Uncle Dave." He took us across the state line into Mississippi and to Turtle Landing. He said that this was a place where we could mingle with the locals. The place overlooks a small body of water with vegetation, a couple of fishing boats...very pretty. We saw an alligator swimming around as well. Uncle Dave's family was there, playing pool and just hanging out. It was very laid back. The people were very nice and very friendly. I had sweet tea and the best po' boy ever- a dressed up soft shell crab po' boy. It was so good and I told the lady (owner maybe?) that it was the best meal I had had on the trip so far.

Beautiful view from the outdoor seating! So relaxing!

I'd highly recommend coming here! Especially as an out of stater I've seen things here that I will never forget. The gator watching is real and fantastic (granted only a few but really how many do you need?!), and the burgers are amazing. Surprisingly the deep fried pickles and mushrooms are not greasy at all and the waitress was fast and friendly. Highly recommend.

This place was great! When you first get there you might feel a little trepidation, I promise it will be okay, you are going through the correct door, your eyes will adjust to the darkness in the bar/grill. The staff are sweethearts. The natives are friendly and funny. They will poke at you a bit, if you tease back you are in for a lot of fun, especially if you are a Yankee (anyone from above i10). The food was great, cooked to perfection, large portions and there is even bacon on the house salad. The meat was moist, the ingredients were fresh and everything came to the table hot. We might stay in Pearlington long enough to do lunch There is a juke box with a variety of music...not all up to date but a lot of fun selections. (Our first real ribbing was when a local played vanilla ice in honor of our visit!) There is a pool table, it's a dollar a game. Stop in to have a beer, a homemade burger or dinner and enjoy the company.

Awesome lunch we were headed to Mississippi and took the scenic route. This is a true hole in the wall but delicious with a water view porch and the staff could not have been nicer. 2 sandwiches, 2 beers and an app under $25, you can't beat the price!

So I've lived here in the Kiln for about 5 years. Never ate here. Recently started working next…read moredoor. Anyways... first 3-4 days of work I went in occasionally for a drink/food etc... My fiancé did as well. Every time either of us went there we were met with glares, rude remarks and sub-par customer service. For example, one day he came by to buy me breakfast and bring it over to me... He asked a question, was met with a dry and crass remark. He said " I'm sorry I've never been here before." And the response he was given was "clearly..." Well to top it off I asked about a job, or hours they may have available due to needing work currently. Bills are over whelming and I'm usually open to most opportunities to make some extra money to support my family. First, I asked. I did ask about a job. For days no one called, and wasn't really any direct answer. Next, I received a call from the owner at night stating I could come in, make 8/hr and try it out and see what I thought... I'm assuming someone quit and they were in a bind. I did agree and said, " yeah I could come in and see what I think...thanks!" Next morning, for several reasons, I did not go. -pay -mom sick -others telling me I don't want to work for them. Anyways, because of this I didn't go in. I tried to call the owner to give him a heads up, due to money issues my phone was off. I had to hustle up some money and pay my phone card. Anyways fast forward to 2/3pm... I was met with 3 girls giggling, degrading and talking shit about the shop I was in. Glares, ignoring me when I asked if I could help them... and just all around rude and bitter comments. Ok, no big deal. Next some bigger woman, with a nasty attitude to match her appearance... walked in behind them to loud cap me about not showing for the shift, how I left them in a bind, and to ensure the guy I currently work for heard, was loud about the whole scenario telling me how horrible I was. And just all are round rude, petty, and distasteful. Ok again, I apologized tried to explain myself and offer some sense of remorse for my action and not justify my actions but ensure she knew I understand that they were left in a bind which was NOT my intentions... She didn't care. She was crappy. Rude. And just all around just as unpleasant as the food she serves. Well... that is not where is stopped with the immaturity and unprofessional actions. Next the OWNER walked in behind her to show me his phone. To let me... and my current boss know... that I didn't try to call and again loudly state I had tried to work for them, messed up their day and how awful I was... Ok... I didn't want to get into it about my finances, my phone being off about how I did try to reach out, my apologies... etc etc.. Again not rude, I said I'm sorry. I hope they know that and he made a crass comment, side eyed me and just said it's fine have a great day. This is the MOST unprofessional, petty, rude, immature, and arrogant and pathetic people I have ever met as a whole. And I thought just the food was bad..... Oh to add, I cleaned their windows 2 days prior to be "nice" due to the owner mentioning none of his employees had yet to do it. Well... no worries it was a kind gesture from me, they should take notes..:.

The omelette was barely warm but tasty, hash browns were hot but both left a greasy after taste in my mouth. The wife had the croissant egg and bacon sandwich. The croissant was a little dark and the bacon was very salty but it to left a greasy taste in her mouth. Others had the grits and shrimp, country fried steak as well as breakfast sandwiches. T was our waitress and she did a fantastic job making sure our drinks were continually filled (they also had another young lady checking on our refills too. The restaurant was your typical diner with lots of tables and chairs. Their dispensers holding the salt, pepper and other items is disgusting they were either dirty or rusted and need a severe cleaning or replaced. They also have a problem with their ac dripping onto the floor, which could lead to a potential slip and fall I pointed out one of the areas in question to give them a chance to take steps to prevent any issues.

Pablo's - A South American Taste is tucked away on the outskirts of Olde Town Slidell, and from the outside, you'd never guess what's inside. It looks unassuming--almost like a forgotten storefront--but once you walk in, WOW. Modern, stylish, great music, and such a welcoming vibe. The food was exceptional--rich flavors, beautifully executed, and incredibly satisfying. The drinks were just as impressive, creative and perfectly balanced. Every detail felt elevated. The service truly sealed the deal. Gisella was amazing--attentive, kind, and genuinely invested in making sure we had an incredible experience. You can feel the pride and passion here. Parking tip for first-timers: park on the side street since there's little to no parking directly out front. Don't let that deter you--this place is 100% worth the effort. If you love discovering hidden gems, this is your sign. Pablo's is doing something special, and I hope more people find their way here.

The second we parked, it felt like we'd driven straight into a time warp. The only things missing were a jukebox in the corner and a waitress on roller skates calling me "hon." Frostop is pure nostalgia -- no filters, no fluff, just good food and better vibes. It's the kind of place that makes you half-expect the Fonz to walk out and give you a thumbs-up. Now, the food. Let's just say if flavor could wear a leather jacket, this shrimp po' boy would be James Dean. The shrimp were fried to absolute perfection -- crisp, golden, and light enough that you don't need to call your cardiologist afterward. The batter had zero oil slick, which is rare enough to deserve its own holiday. The onion rings? Crisp enough to make that satisfying snap when you pull them apart -- not a greasy drip in sight. And those crinkle-cut fries? Cooked just right -- golden on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and salty enough to make you reach for another sip of that sweet tea (which, of course, was the real deal -- sweet, cold, and dangerously refillable). My colleague went for the burger po' boy and hasn't stopped talking about it since. The man looked genuinely emotional for a second -- like he'd just reunited with a long-lost friend. Oh, and the prices, ridiculously low! Maybe not from the sixties, but definitely not from this decade either! If you find yourself anywhere near Picayune, do yourself a favor and pull over. Frostop isn't just lunch -- it's a mini vacation back to a time when food was simple, service was friendly, and nobody cared about counting calories. If you follow me, you know I don't give five stars away easily, this place deserves each of those five stars!
